My eyes were so heavy, I couldn’t help but let them close. When I woke up, there was a huge house in front of me. Being the curious kid I am, I started to go in. My name is Alex and I am a 12 year old girl who likes knowing how things work. I wanted to know how I had ended up in front of a house that looked like a house you would only see on movies. On the porch was squeaky with every step I set down. When I went inside, it was just a door to a chair that seemed to have a book on it. With out hesitation, I picked up the book not knowing what I had just done. That floor beneath crumbled out from underneath me. Sharp pieces of splinters fell down with me. They felt like sharp pieces of glass dropping from the ceiling on my shirt and arms. The hole was pitch black on the walls. It felt like it was bottomless. I kept falling, until… THUD! The feel of the sweet hard ground hit my back like a smack across the face. It was black, nothing but midnight black. It was a room that held eight walls like an octagon. Then all of a sudden, a light flickered on, one side of the wall was lit. Then another blinked on, that side was lit. There was nothing in them. Unexpectedly, all the lights immediately flipped on. It was like a nightmare. There was a door in each of the walls. The room was a worn out cream colored place that looked like it was originally and old timey ice cream shop. The ground was black and white checkers. It had dust everywhere. All the door were dark wood with a gold handle. The handles looked like they have been handled a lot in order to open the door. There was one door that stood out. It was bright red. With a gold handle too. Unlike the others, this door handle was not worn down, it looked brand new. But I wondered if it led to the way out. I had to try. I grabbed the gold handle and twisted it, and the door popped open. It was dark inside unlike what I thought it would be. I thought it would be a bright light that led strait to freedom. But it was not. I was a dark light, testing me, putting me through an obstacle coarse. I was not happy with it. There was nothing in the room but a small stack in the middle of rocks with a glass on top. The rocks were mossy as if they have been outside but they were inside. I think. In the glass that seemed to have stained a little shade of sky blue, was a big book. I stepped in the room feeling my foot in front of me first for any traps. I got to the book and stared at what it had on the pages. I was in the book. But I wasn’t doing anything normal, and not Alice in Wonderland normal either. I was waiting for someone. It looked I was in the doctor’s office on the first page. Then all of a sudden he pictures on the page started to move. The ink that was supposed to forever stay there as it was on the page, moved. A person came out of the background walking up to me. It was a girl. She has a vest on like a doctor, but was acting strange. She seemed sad and depressed. She went up to me and her mouth started moving. I could see that I heard it and started bawling. I don’t know what she is saying now, but if this is true to happen, then I just might bawl. I was scared, I didn’t know what to think fo this. If it was true like a prophecy or was it all just a big scam or prank. I thought to myself ‘It might be true due to the fact that all this weird stuff has been happening lately’. I turned around hoping to leave the room but instead, the door was not there anymore. The one that I had walked through a few minutes ago, was gone. Then I heard a creaking noise behind me. I slowly turn around thinking that there might be a monster behind me like in every scary movie. It wasn’t. A door has slowly creaked open practically calling my name. I wanted to get out of the room with one light above a book with a prophecy in it. I headed out the black door. As soon as I stepped through, it was like a whole other world. It was bright and beautiful. There was beautiful flowers everywhere on the ground. There was green grass around a path that looked like it had been walked on a lot. It was all matted down and light brown like dirt and sand. I looked around hoping to see trees but I didn’t. It was just sky. A white sky that looked as if it was covered in ashes. I wondered if a war just ended in this world or something. There was like a clear wall where the pretty grass and flowers came to an end. I slowly walked to the cliff and peeked over the edge of the path. There was just a winding path of what I just saw all the way down to who knows what. I decided that I should walk down to get out of this mess. As I walked down, I heard whispers in the distance of the pale sky saying “go back.” And “you are not safe here.” I don’t know what they meant by go back. Like it’s any safer back in the one light dark room? Those whispers did make me quiver though. I took forever to get to the bottom, but when I finally did, I was shocked to see not anything of what I expected. There was just clouds. Nothing but clouds as far as they eye could see. It just stopped there, the path. I just couldn’t help but think, ‘the path could go down below the clouds’. So I stepped. There was not a path. Just a sheer drop. I was falling to the ground from cloud’s height. I was scared to death. Just falling I screamed as if ANYONE could even hear my whisper. Then the ground appeared. Just out of no where. I couldn’t feel my body hit the ground and yet I hit it hard. I stood up as if nothing happened. I thought to myself ‘if I can’t get hurt to that fall. The grass that I landed on was just a small platform with the white sky around me. I didn’t know where I was and what to do. Then I heard a scream off in the distance of the sky. I thought that I should see who it is, and if I could help them. But, after all, I am on an island in the middle of who knows where. If I take a step what could I accomplish? And don’t even think about what I could lose. I could find who it is and help them and find a way out. That is the the best casinario. I take a deep breath and take a step. I didn’t fall, luckily. It was just a wall of clouds. Behind the wall was what looked like a doctor’s office. There were chairs on the side of the wall. Around me was white. Not the cloud white of in the sky like I was before, but like, wallpaper white. In the chairs that were against the wall had a girl waiting. At Least I thought it was a girl. She was sobbing as if she had just lost a loved one. Maybe that is what happened. Another person walked in. It was another girl. She was wearing a doctor’s coat, walking up to the girl. The girl in the chairs looked up at the doctor. It was like they didn’t know I was here. Her eyes were watery and her makeup was smeared all across her face. The doctor’s mouth was moving ,but I still couldn't hear what she said. It reminded me of the book that looked like a prophecy. As soon as the girl in the chairs heard it, she didn’t go back to sobbing like she was before, she slowly turned her head towards me. She was looking directly at me. Then the doctor slowly turned her head towards me too. What was going on? I thought they couldn’t see me. But they clearly could. She stared as if she was reading my mind. Then her mouth slowly opened as she was about to say something. Then she said in a soft voice, “why did you do this?” What?! Was this all my fault? Did I do this? I don’t remember hurting anyone. Then It all went black. All around me was black. I sat down on the black floor of the box that I was trapped in. And thought to myself, “what did I do to kill someone or hurt someone?” I did not do anything. I was so tired, or so I thought. I layed down on the hard ground. As I did, the ground felt like it was getting softer. It continuously got softer until I turned back to look that I had laid down on a matress. I was confused but too tired to understand what was happening. So I just fell asleep on the soft matress. When I woke up, I felt energized and ready to run and have fun. When I looked around, it was not the same room that I had been in earlier, just black with a matress in the middle. It was a dark gray room filled with kid’s toys. I was still on the bed, but just covered up with a blanket that looked like a quilt. The room was only gray because it was dark outside. The only thing that produced light was the moon shining through the window. It was a rectangular room. The bed was in the middle of the room on one short side of the wall. On the other side was a closet that folded out when you pulled the nob, and a dresser that had a pretty big mirror on the top of it. It reflected the wall on my left. On the right of me was a door that was closed with no handle on it. The light was shining through the door like a light was on outside of the door. But I could not go out because it had no handle. Of course, on the left was the freaky, dark, shadowy, window. A tree right outside of the house had limbs that casted huge shadows on the floor of the gray room. It was absolutely silent. Not a peep from anything. Then all of a sudden, there was a sound. It sounded like a huge THUMP coming from the other side of the room. I know I am usually curious, but this time, NOPE! Not happening. Not checking that out. I just sat there in bed watching the closet trying not to go to sleep. If I did, I would end up in who knows where. I didn’t want to find out, it might more scarier than this. There might be a monster. I knew that it was not the fear of the monster itself, it was the fear of the unknown and unpredictable. Thinking about that fear will not help the situation what so ever right now. Then the closet thumped again. This time it was louder and almost pushed the doors down. Then it stopped for about two seconds then the light came one inside. Then it flicked off. The fear of unpredictability is taking over now. I heard a voice. It was quiet but deep. It said “All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream.” That made me terrified inside. It made me wonder- what if it was a dream? What if this was never real. I look up trying to find a way out and instead get something way different. A creature, black, my size, red eyes, and it looked like it had fur. Black fur all around. It was all hunched up in the corner of the room. It was staring me directly at me. I could not see it very well, but I couldn’t lay my finger on it. Then the head of it, turned a little. Then it turned more. It’s head kept turning slowly all the way around. I was just sitting there, looking at it in terror. Then the head stopped turning when it got all the way upside down. It’s mouth opened slowly. As black teeth started coming out of its mouth, I heard a sleep box start playing. It sounded like twinkles, and strong wind. It was light at first then gradually got louder to the point where I had to cover my ears. The monster’s mouth kept opening as the twinkles and strong wind got louder. I was still staring at the monster when it stopped. I blinked then it was gone. I hear the door slightly open with a loud creak, louder than the soundbox. Then the soundbox stopped. I turn over to see who came in through the door. It was the monster that was in the corner. It was standing right in front of me, on the edge of the bed. I met it eye to eye. This time I could really see it, TOO well. It was fully black with not fur but a lot of spikes. It was my size like I thought it was. It had a face that looked a perfectly human sculptured face. It was a little big for the body. The face was a little more less spikey than the neck and body. It had bright red eyes with black pupils. They were huge. It was just standing there, not doing anything. Even when I moved my hand it didn’t do anything. His eyes weren’t even moving. They were only locked on my eyes. I moved my head over to the side around him. His eyes moved! They locked back on mine. That was it! No more scary stuff. I stick out my hand to punch it or get it away. It went straight through. It disappeared in a thick black smoke. Then the door opened. The light coming from the outside filled the room. The walls were not gray anymore. They were white. The toys kept their gray colors. I get up from the comfy bed and blankets. My legs are so weak, it’s hard to walk. The outside was white. Nothing but white. No objects, no hallway, nothing but white. Being the curious kid I am, I got up and walked toward the door. When I walked through the door I was all white. not a room, just white. My eyes were so heavy, I couldn’t keep them open. I couldn’t help but let them close. Then I really woke up.
