A Summer Wedding Ceremony

It was a beautiful summer morning in June. The sun cast a gentle glow over the picturesque garden where the wedding ceremony was to take place. Flowers and ribbons of pink and purple aligned the yard surrounding the chairs. The guest began to arrive to the ceremony around two o'clock. Each guest were dressed in their finest attire. Their faces beaming with joy and anticipation of the blissful event. The ushers stood at the door dressed in their classic black tuxedos with wedding programs in hands for the guest.

The first to arrive were the grandparents who were escorted to their seats b the ushers. They took their places in the front row. Their eyes sparkled with pride and admiration for the young couple.

Soon after, the groom's parents made their entrance. They were greeted warmly by friends and family. They took their position at the front, creating a lovely frame for the ceremony.

The flower girl Abby Ryan and ring bearer Joshua Logan followed their small steps drawing smiles and whispers of adoration from guest. Abby scattered petals along the aisles, creating a path of delicate colors. Joshua carried the rings with the utmost care.

Finally, the moment everyone had been waiting for arrived. Melody the bride radiant in her radiant white gown, appeared at the end of the aisle. Melody mom and dad both walked her down the aisle to her husband to be Royce. All the guest stood to their feet as they passed by slowly down the aisles. The guest all gasp with joy as the bride walked passed them a vision of elegant and beauty. Royce stood there waiting on his bride to be to join him. Tears began to stream down his cheeks as he watched his beautiful bride join him at the altar.

When Melody reached the altar, her Father Charles gentle placed her hand in the hand of Royce. A symbolic gesture of trust and to bless their union . The couple stood together ready to embark in their journey. The were both surrounded by the love and support of their family and friends. The minister Revered Walker began to give the scriptures of marriage to the couple. They wanted to read to one another vowels that they had written to commemorate their love for one another. It was a tradition of the brides family for the couple to jump the broom after they both said their I do's.

“I now pronounce you man and wife,” said Revered Walker. “Royce you may kiss your bride.”

Royce lifted up Melody veil and gave her a passionate kiss on her lips. The guest all stood up and cheered loudly for the couple. The couple took each other's hand and walked down the aisle. The wedding party of bridesmaids and groomsmen followed close behind. After the wedding ceremony was over, the guest were all seated at their assigned tables. The tables were covered with white lace table cloth and each table had a seating arrangement for the guest. There was a center piece of bright pink and purple roses in the center of each table. On a larger table in the middle of the room stood the ten feet wedding cake adorned in colorful flowers and pearls. The bride and groom took their dance together as everyone watched. After their dance ,they cut their wedding cake. The couple fed each other a piece of wedding cake as the guest cheered in the background. Melody and Royce were seated at the center of the table alongside their parents. The best man Eric gave a toast to the couple and made jokes which made the guest burst into laughter. The flower girl and ring bearer ran around the yard chasing one another as the rest of he guest began eating.

“Melody looks so beautiful,” said Ruby. “I hope her and Royce stay this way forever.”

“I do too honey,” said Charles.

Charles went up to his daughter and gave her a kiss on the cheek. He took her hand and led her to the dance floor for the traditional father and daughter dance. Melody took her dad's hand like she did when he first taught her to slow dance when she was a young girl. Back then she was so little that she stood on his feet to dance.

“Can I stand on your feet dad? asked Melody.

“No, you're too big for that,” said Charles.

Melody laughs as her and her dad continues to share their dance. After the wedding dinner was over, the guest began to leave the garden. The caters start to clean the tables and put the left over food into containers. The guest all stood in front of the Harvest Inn. The couples black Rolls Royce phantom was pulled in front of the building. The words “Just Married” written across the back of the car. Royce parents had gifted the couple a cruise ship to the Maldives for a week. Melody mother began to cry as she watched her baby daughter get into their car and drive away.

“Don't cry mama,” said Charles. “She'll be just fine.”

“I know,” said Ruby.

A few of the guest went back into the garden to get a center piece to take home. Charles and his son Billy went to collect the wedding present to take his home for his daughter. The clean up crew were cleaning up the gardens for another wedding to beheld the next day. Melody and Royce mad e a stop back home to get their luggage. They were driving to Mobile to get on their shop for their honeymoon. As the sun started to set on their drive to the cruise ship, the couple held hands. This was a new beginning for them both as husband and wife.

“Want something to eat?” asks Royce.

“No,” said Melody. “I'm ready to get our honeymoon started.”

“Amen,” said Royce.

The couple had a four hour drive to the cruise ship. Melody cuddled up in her husband arms as they drove to their destination of fun in the beautiful islands of the Maldives.
