General

Golden rays of the sun shone on the ponds, The birds seemed to be chirping. A casual glamourous morning. The sun was peeking from in between the clouds, and was eager to wake me up, because I felt the rays on my face. Unfortunately, the sudden beeping of the alarm clock, was not quite pleasant. A hand emerged from the bed, trying all it could to grab for his opponent, finally succeeds, and the dreadful sound stopped. A typical and rather stubborn side of mine would have told me to go back to sleep again, which I did for a few seconds. Until the sudden thought struck my restless mind. Which caused me to open my empty, and weary eyes. I was supposed to meet my best friend today, and it was better to wake up early. Last time I checked, it took me an hour to find the right outfit. So let's be a responsible and punctual human being once in my life, and if it doesn't include much work, I'll try to do this more often.

After a whole few minutes, of tossing clothes on the ground, invading my closet, and looking in the mirror with different positions and angles, only to toss the clothes on the ground again. Now my room looked like a total chaos of ants scattered everywhere. Not to mention that my room has always been this way. I gave myself the "I'll pick it up when I get back" excuse. Despite knowing the fact, that I had never in my entire 15 years of living, I actually remember picking up my clothes. I actually salute my mom for bearing with a child like me, because she is the one who cleans my room after. When I say that, I know I relate to a lot of people.

The most annoying and dreadful thing I abide is being the first one to arrive. Since I've always been an impatient person, I kept checking my watch, trying to distract myself from, what looked like millions of people staring at me. There is one thing I never liked, it's when people test my level of patience. I have absolutely no patience. I waited, and waited, and, waited. Twenty more minutes passed, yet still no sign of her. I was trying not to fly in a rage of anger, every time that second hand went "tick", "tick", "tick".

I was being a bit too impatient, but I gave no importance to my thoughts for the next thirty minutes.

I just sat there, alone, with people not letting a single chance out of hand, to look at me, and whisper in the next person's ear.

I stood up, slammed my purse on the table, that's it, if she doesn't want to show up, FINE! I don't need her anyway.

On the way home I couldn't help but cry, now I understand how hard it was to hold back tears.

"How could she ditch me like this?"

"After all these years of friendship, this is how she repays me?"

I thought I was being dramatic, there was a possibility, that she forgot, or her she was forced to meet one of her many aunts again. whatever it was, it didn't hold me back to call her.

I called her.

It said it was an invalid number.

"Huh? What? B-but how?... Probably some issue...let me just try again"

And I did.

It was the same response. It was an invalid number. How could it be an invalid number? I have been texting and calling this number my whole life.

I am an easily-paranoid child. I get petrified to the smallest of things, that's my excuse for the next thing I did.

I flew over to her house I was following a fast pace and heavy breathing, since it was just a few blocks away, it didn't take me a lot of time. I took a moment to breathe and calm myself, I was sweating, but who cares. All I care about is her excuse for abandoning me like that

After approximately forty-five seconds of waiting, her dad answered the door.

"Ahh, good Afternoon Sir, May I please speak to Charlotte?"

He looked confused. He examined me with his eyes, up and down, I felt really uncomfortable. After a few seconds of awkward silence, he opened his mouth.

"Sorry Miss, I think you got the wrong house"

"What? Wrong house? N-No"

I looked at the house number with wide eyes. It was the right house.

"Mr. Davis, It's me...Mia...Your daughter's friend?.."

"Daughter..I don't have a daughter..What are you talking about? And how do you know my name?"

My head was spinning around, what was wrong with her dad.

I knew it was best not to fight with him, so I asked him if he could please give me a glass of water.

He agreed.

Which gave me an opportunity to point out Charlotte in on Big family photo frame. However, as I dragged my

finger, to where Charlotte should have been, it was empty. Just her parents, and her older brother.

It seemed as if she had just...Well...disappeared...

I asked Mr.Davis one more time before I left.

"Mr.Davis, don't you remember?... You have a lovely daughter..named Charlotte...?"

"Look here, little girl, I have no clue who this Charlotte you keep mentioning all the time, Now if I'm not being rude, can you leave?"

Wow, I was left in utter shock, I was moments away, from having a major heart attack.

I pulled me and my thoughts together, and did what was best, just get out of there.

I reached home and started going through my Camera roll, to find some pictures of us together.

What I saw, still makes Chills go down my spine, There right before my eyes stood nothing, nothing but just pictures of me..posing all..alone.

It seemed as if she had just vanished. I was confused, petrified, Shocked, all at the same time. I didn't know what to say.

I kept telling myself, it was probably a dream.

"it's just a dream, calm down, that can't happen in real life"

But the question, I ask myself everyday single day is, ...Is it a dream?... Or had I just imagined her all my life..?
