Einstein's theory of general relativity changed physics and the world's view of space and time as a whole. Before Einstein's general relativity, the world was like a static stage. Stars and planets move as they should by Newton's law of gravity.
According to Einstein, the world (space and time) is not passive. Space and time are dynamic and behave relative to what is happening. Space and time merge into spacetime which can be shown as a trampoline. If an object with a massive mass, such as a star or planet, is placed, it will make an indentation on the trampoline (space-time). Thus, the planet or star with a smaller mass will roll around the massive mass object. This is what we called gravity according to the general theory of relativity.
That afternoon, Connor just sat pensively with a cup of coffee that was slowly getting cold. Anyone would have realized Connor was up to something. That day, Connor had just reached a project agreement with a client. As an engineer, Connor has completed many large projects. He loves his job so much and earns a high salary. Well, he's not thinking about his life problem, but thinking about something else. Connor wants to be like Mr. Coleman.
Connor so admired the figure of Mr. Coleman, leader of his engineering team. For Connor, Mr. Coleman is a person who is so charismatic and authoritative. Mr. Coleman’s ability in leading and moving the team has always been the key to their success in completing projects. Connor always remembers how Mr. Coleman gives him brand new ideas and vision every time they have a meeting. Everyone really loves Mr. Coleman, including Connor himself.
“Mr. Coleman was so amazing. He is an alpha who makes everyone so comfortable and interested in being in his circle. Why does Mr. Coleman seem to have a gravitational force?" he thought to himself as he looked at the cup of coffee he didn't drink.
A woman who happened to order the same coffee as Connor walked up to him and asked why Connor wasn't drinking his coffee and why he looked so gloomy.
"I've been watching you for a few minutes. You just saw your coffee without drinking it. Not even once. Did something happen to you?”
"Oh, nothing happens. I'm fine." Connor said
“But that cold coffee and your gloomy face say otherwise. I'm sure you're thinking about something that really upsets you." the woman said.
Finally, the woman sat down next to Connor and tried to find out what he was really thinking. At first, Connor had always refused to tell him what he really thought. Connor only talked about other things like his job and hobbies. Whenever the woman questioned what had happened to Connor again, he always shifted the conversation to another topic.
"Hey, to be honest, I'm not the kind of person who likes to meddle in other people's business, but somehow I feel you are really in trouble and need some help." the woman said.
“This is not important at all. I have no significant life problems. That's not what I thought. It's about myself." Connor said.
“Even though I don't know you, I can be a good listener if you need to tell me what you think. Let's say I just want to help other people. At least you can be a lot calmer when you talk about it, right?” the woman said.
“Okay, looks like you're a bit pushy on me.” replied Connor with a laugh.
"Have you ever felt that other people have an extraordinary attraction beyond yourself? You want to be like that person, but you don't know-how. I want to be someone who has a strong charm and charisma so that people like to surround me.” Connor said
“Why would such a thing appear in your mind? Isn't it better to be yourself and not wish to be someone else?" asked the woman.
“I told you before, this is not important at all. You don't have to try to understand it. I'm not jealous. I just want to be more useful and make the people around me happier. I don't think I've done it well enough yet,” Connor replied.
"Isn't there anyone who is happy when they are with you?" asked the woman.
"Of course there is. I have my little family. I love them and they love me too." replied Connor.
"Then, what makes you feel you don't have that charm yet?" asked the woman as she left the place.
Connor just watched the woman leave with a confused face.
Connor saw the woman approach a child who was with his father. It turned out to be the child and the woman's husband. The woman looked back at Connor and gave a big smile. It suddenly made Connor realize something very important.
Connor quickly gulped down his coffee and hurried home. His face was very radiant and a wide smile was evident even from a distance. Connor was eager to go home quickly to meet his wife and child at the house who were always waiting for him to come back.
“It turns out that gravity has been inside me all this time. My little family is always beside me, surrounds me, and moves with me. I don't even need to be Mr. Coleman to have that gravity." Connor said to himself.
Einstein's general relativity also radiates through Connor's feelings. Connor can be shown as the earth and Mr. Coleman as the sun. The sun as an object with massive mass (Mr. Coleman with his dominant charisma and quality) forms an indentation in space-time so that objects with less mass will move around it, including the earth, as a form of the sun's gravitational force.
The earth itself has a mass that can also form an indentation in space-time so that objects with a mass smaller than the earth will also move around the earth, such as the moon. Earth (Connor) also has a gravitational force that makes the moon (Connor's small family) comfortable moving around the earth.
