Drama Friendship Suspense

"Please... What are you going to do with us?" Rachel's eyes widened as she looked at her friend. Even though she was far from her, she still felt that she was weakening. They should have just listened to her mother. They should not go into the woods for a walk. There was nothing special there, and this is what they got.

The voice they had heard before laughed, but they could not see it. Rachel quickly rolled her eyes. This is the first time that she has seen a place like this. . . a place surrounded by glasses. The space of that place was large, but they were there just in the middle part. . . their bodies were surrounded by an iron claw while sitting on a highchair. She tried to get away many times, but she only got weaker every time she did that.

"You know, kid, my stay here has been so boring for the past two months. Now, I'm finally glad that I can see people. . . friends." That voice was dry, causing Rachel to feel only one thing there, hatred.

"We. . . we are not your friends!" She almost consumes her energy on screaming. Later, Margaret, her one and only friend, finally woke up. The friendship between the two began when they were only five years old. They share each other secrets, dreams, rants as well as the men they like– everything! So even when they reach legal age, they are still this close.

They've decided to go for a walk in the woods. Because according to what they hear, there are so many incredible things here. They wanted to found it out, so they went in. Now, she regrets that. If they just stayed at home, the snack waiting for them would definitely be delicious.

"Rachel?" She looked at his friend again, then turned back to the voice they could not even see.

"We are not each other's friend here, Rachel." That man stopped speaking slightly - based on the depth of the voice. "And finally! The other girl is up. We can start our game. "

The two looked at each other at the same time. They don't want to play a game. They are grown-ups! They continue to loosen on their seats. The man is one of a hell crazy. They need to get away now.

"Are you ready, kids?" They do not like what is happening. They need to find a way out as soon as possible, or they'll be doomed. "Well, it doesn't matter. Ready or not, we'll play this exciting game."

"You freak!" Margaret exclaimed, but they heard nothing but that laugh of the man they could not find where.

"Yes, I am."

Instead of screaming, Rachel tries to think of a way. They need to get out of here. She hates being confined in a glass cage, the round iron from that chair also embraced them.

"There is a trench knife behind your seat. You have one, each. Now, at my signal, you can leave your seats. But. . . this is the most exciting part of it." The two just stared at each other. Trying to understand what the man has to say next. "I'll give you a chance to escape. . . get out of here and be with anyone you like, but this chance comes with a price."

"What do you mean? What price?" It's Margaret's time to speak.

"Only one person can come out. And you girls should fight for your chance. Margaret, you kill Rachel, and you can go. Rachel, you should kill Margaret, and you can bid me goodbye. Your goal here is your freedom. You had one chance. Fight for that goal of yours! Now! "

Margaret shouted incessantly. She could not believe it. "That's bullshit!"

"Oh, you know? This bullshit can save you, "the man fought back.

It is easy for him to unclasp the barrier in their seats. In an instant, they were able to stand. They both looked at the back of the chair to confirm if what the man was saying was true. That thing is real. They have a Trench knife behind their seat.

"The clock is ticking!" The voice remained dry and teasing.

"We won't do it!" Margaret turned to her friend Rachel who was starting to cry. She made Margaret approach and hugged her. "We will make a way to escape. We do not need to do this."

Shortly afterward, the small TV in the corner opened. They hurried there. The two were so shocked when Margaret's parents were shown there. Pure fear and concern could be seen on the couple's face. They are now with the police, and they are obviously in the woods.

"Mom! Dad!" Margaret automatically clenched her fist. She is very irritated by the situation. Whoever is behind this, he will be accountable to the police.

"Have you increased your hope, Marg? Well, they are looking for the wrong place. This isn't in the woods. No one can't find me. . . No one can't find you here."

Margaret's tears flowed. What can she do? What can someone like him do in this situation?

She snapped out of her reverie when she heard Rachel's loud scream. She immediately looked at the TV screen, it is evident from there that his mother was just lying on their bed and very weak. In the past, Rachel and her mother had suffered terribly because of Rachel's mother's illness.

Rachel can't calm down. She has lost herself. She could only think of one thing, which she needed to get out of this place. Her mother needs her. She should not stay here long, and she should go home.

She quickly grabbed the knife that had just landed on the chair and trembled as she aimed it at Margaret.

Margaret's eyes widened. She did not know what was going on in her friend's mind, but she was afraid of it.

"Rachel, what do you think you are doing?" Rachel's answer to her friend was just tearing.

"Marg, my mother really needs me. She's dying! I cannot let her be alone! No one will take care of her. I can't let her. . . die alone, Marg. I need to do this! "

She continued to back out. In that situation, she knew she could no longer talk to her friend politely, so she took the knife next to her.

"And you'll kill me? That's your way to escape. Really, Rachel? We've been together since we-don't-even-know-when. We are a family. We can find another way. We should not send in fear–" She could not continue what he was saying. She immediately shouted when she saw her friend jump for a stab. She quickly blocked her arms, but she did not feel any pain. Even if a friend wants to stab her, she can't. She just kept crying and crying in front of her.

"My mom is the only family that I have, Marg. I can't let her. . . Let her–"

"And I am your friend– no, the only closest friend you have. Why are you killing me?" Margaret was a hell of disappointed. She is completely standing now.

"Because I have no choice!"

"No! Because this is the thing you want to do!"

Margaret's eyes darkened. Even she was eaten up by anger for her friend. She treated Rachel as a family. But she will quickly betray her to death like she has nothing else to do?

"You wanted to kill me, don't you?" Margaret laughed bitterly. She didn't expect this. It looks worse than betrayal. "You wanted me out of the picture. Why? Because you want to get everything from me. My life, my friends, my goals, and even my family! Look how pathetic you are, Rachel! I treated you like a sister. We've given you a better life. We do not neglect you. We've stayed with you in your dark times. I've. . . trusted you. ".

At that moment, Rachel laughed. "I don't need your drama, Margaret. I need to get out of here soon. I don't care if I leave you here or you die, as long as I have to leave– "

"Then you don't deserve anything! You don't deserve to live!" Margaret gave her friend three consecutive stabs.

She became really feeble when pure blood came out of Rachel's mouth. Her knees seemed to weaken, and she fell to the floor as she continued to sob and cry.

"No. . . no, Rachel!" She didn't mean to do that. She didn't mean to kill her. "Please, wake up. I'm really sorry, sweetie. Please hang in there. I'll call for help. Don't you dare leave us!

She tried to smash the glass, but it does not move at all. She quickly took the knife and try to stab the glass there, but she also failed. She desperately kicked and punched the glass.

"Please. . . take good care of my mom, for me. Please, don't let her die alone." She quickly returned to her friend. She shakes vigorously while shedding tears.

"Please, please, Rachel. Forgive me. I. . . can't go home without you." She hugged her friend. She almost sank down when she felt her agony.

"You. . . you are the best friend I have ever had." At the same time as Rachel stopped speaking, her heart stopped beating. Margaret could do nothing but cry and cry. She doesn't deserve freedom. She doesn't deserve to escape.

Amidst the loss and sobbing, she heard a loud noise. She searched for the source than her heart almost jumped in shock when she saw that the glass door of that cage was open. She can go out now, go home to her parents who are worried about her, but she will no longer be able to take his friend. Not at all.

This is such an interesting dynamic between Rachel and Margaret! I thought it was a really nice touch how you began the story with Rachel's perspective, and ended it with Margarets'. Their interactions make me wonder if there was underlying conflict between them in the past. Really creative!
