Adventure Christian Middle School

We don’t need no stinkin’ backpack—clear plastic or strapless☺️.

Imagine this 2024 youngsters.

Years ago, and I do not know how many years because I am not great with “numbers.” Unfortunately as with many things “life” we remember the negative stuff and forget the positive.

Someday, I will figure out why this is………

until then,

Let’s talk baggage.

Yes. BAGGAGE.

Hopefully at this point in time,

In your young lives.

yours,

your baggage is small, simple and well, light.

Unfortunately.

Life seldom unpacks so neat and tide-ely.

We accumulate stiff, sh** and other’s junk.

In the olden times, the junk drawer was where “it” was at.

The memories, the nostalgia of life, the collections of all collections.

The burdens.

We have a choice.

We, sometimes, do not have a choice.

If you know in your heart of hearts you did all that you could.

You good.

The sooner we learn this and youngsters,

Believe me.

The better.

When we are young we have choices.

To watch the good show.

To watch the bad show.

Of how it is “done.”

Done.

A scary word to some.

A free-ing word for others.

The key: Due diligence.

Do yours.

DO DUE DILIGENCE.

DO YOUR DUE DILIGENCE.

Nowadays, it does not matter if you, me, any of us, see something and/or say something.

The proof becomes in the pudding.

The crime must now fit the punishment.

Gives whole new meaning to:

Taking another down.

Blurt it out.

Say what you need to say.

At all and others’ costs.

The Duel of the Lies is born.

Imagine this:

Stumbling.

Stumbling upon sometimes drawer of life. Drawer of intimate possessions, collections, favorite items.

*****CAUTION*****

DISCLAIMER: This blog-prompt is PG-written. Only for the under 13 crowd as it was 30-40-50-60’s years ago as it was in “real time”.

Before and around the time the Beave and Wally were trying to figure things out🙂😳.

Those whose heads are in the gutter—NOT INVITED to read on.

Choices. Choices. Choices.

The Drawer.

To move on……little trinkets….little papers…. little collections of all things favorite….baseball cards…..football cards……..Pokémon cards………Konami cards…….little old Macdonalds happy meal toys, coins, Kodak pictures of favorite friends, favorite brothers, favorite sisters..

Favorite dog.

The drawers of our lives spoke to who we were, who we may become.

Then.

The big giant intruder entered our lives. The moments of our lives.

Personal and Privacy took on whole new meanings.

Took on becoming the “hit” of our lives.

Boundries became things of the past

For some.

For others.

They became a mission.

A mission of protection.

It was considered a crime to go through another’s drawers. The drawer was sacred. A reflection of a person’s favorite things. Once violated.

All things were tainted.

ALL THINGS WERE TAINTED.

Trust was broken.

Life was altered.

Baggage became the heavy burden of concealed carry.

Only when love entered the pictured, was there a fighting chance.

A fighting chance.

At redemption.

At life point forward being what we hoped it could be.

Hope.

There it is again.

That four letter word of misguided misgivings.

Rest easy, young folks.

There are a handful of good, righteous people out there.

You goal in life now.

To find them

To honor them

As they honor you—Your oopsies and your setbacks at dropping the ball and baggage of someone else, that someone refused and failed to

Take care of it—themself.

Is shared with these good folks.

Amen.

I realize this may seem like an impossible task.

Impossible.

And it is.

But as followers know,

KNOW.

Nothing is impossible with Him.

He smiles a genuine gentle smile at our weaknesses.

He believes we are the opposite of stupid stupidity.

He guides us with gentle hands.

Phew!

We got this.

You got this.

We all got this.

Now.

Let’s get busy.

The next time it seems prudent to you to blast off a picture, image, likeness of someone’s failings—

THINK TWICE.

THINK BACK.

THINK BACK to a time when character assasination and reputational murder was less of a “thing.”

Wanna know why?

The next time—the next pic—the next image— could be of

YOU.

Then the catch up begins on of a life filled with other’s baggage.

A heavy, heavier burden than one is capable of carrying.

We crack.

We react.

We stoop.

To their level because that is what we think we must do to survive.

No.

Nope.

Not at all.

Imagine. With the power at your finger tips to wreck someone’s life in an instant—and these devices are everywhere—up, down, inside, outside…attached and tethered.

What would you do?

What will you do?

Sure, the burden seems heavy, but light at the same time—-to just point, shoot, click and send.

Thinking:

Life wrecked.

Mine saved.

No.

Nope.

Not at all.

Thinking that way will land you at the gates of he**quicker than you can say “Siri” or “Sorry” but you would not know this, because you became confused about

Loyalty.

Trust.

Truth.

The powerful person is the one who faces their mistakes.

The powerful person does not pass them along to and for

Someone else to carry.

Imagine. If you really want to play it this way, imagine having to carry the old time devices-called computers—twenty to thirty pounds, keyboard not even attached— on your back, all day, everyday.

Hmmm.

I am not a betting person. But I momentarily wager, you could not do it—carry the burden. Of someone else’s baggage without Him.

As the spidey guys have said:…. With great power comes great responsibility.

Just because you can, does not mean you should.

Wreck another person’s life for your own satisfaction and reputational advancement.

Because May God have mercy.

On your soul.

If you choose the wrong choice in the interest of

Justice.

Lady justice holds the scales in balance.

Cheating, spying and lurking, tip the scales to imbalance.

Where will you be standing when you have to make your choice?

Which side of the boundary?

The bigger question is why.

You do what YOU do.

Careers can be won. Careers can be lost.

Know who has your back.

A light computer, a heavy computer.

Makes no difference.

He ain’t heavy, he’s my brother.

And.

We both came from the same bloodless stock.
