Coming of Age Friendship LGBTQ+

"You two care for a drink? First drinks on me," asked and offered the bartender of a soul patch. From what I'm gathering, he was co-owner of this rundown tiki bar of this shady water park in the Dells. Can't believe my first time at Wisconsin Dells has to be here, out of all places. Could have gone to Mt. Olympus or even the Great Wolf Lodge but Frank insists we check out the lesser known establishment before going too big for my britches, as he would call it.

"Sure thing! We both can use a refresher!" called back Frank, speaking for the both of us. "What would you recommend for me and my best friend here?" he asked before I could even put a word in.

"That's a good question. RyRy, what do you think?" asked the bartender to his twin as a lifeguard.

"Well, By, I think we can give them what you just told me a moment ago," replied Ryan, by whom, was wearing nothing but red shorts, Crocs and sunglasses. His body was perfectly suntanned, clean cut shaved and he looked good if I'm quite franked. He continued on speaking while I was daydreaming: "How about it? You both up for a drink that's dedicated to our lovely yet lone slide as you two can see here."

"What's the name of the drink?" Frank asked excitedly. Leave it to Frank. So typically of him. Anytime, he ever got excited for anything, his mind is set and never wavers. After roomy with him, you kind of get used to it.

"We call it the Pineapple Slide," Bryan says with such enthusiasm.

"oOoOO," responded my dear friend. "What's in that drink, per tell?"

"Well, obviously, you will have the works of the pineapple," started the bartender. That all being the juice, small chucks and even some of the skin. We'll be adding a bit of vodka for those alcoholics with a dash of 7UP. All with a small amount of ice."

"That sounds absolutely perfect," Frank says with an eager face. "What do you think, Nigel?" he turns to me, finally asking me questions since we got there. "Would you like to try a Pineapple Slide?"

I thought about it before responding there with a simple request: "That does sound rather really good, not going to lie. Can you possibly add some coconut to my drink by any chance?"

"You know that' a swell idea," replied Bryan, slamming his hand on the counter with a grand smile. "That would bring more customers in if we have alterations of the drink. Thanks for the inspiration!"

"It's no problem," I said, waving my hand, getting rather embarrassed.

"But most certainly, we do thank you," said the lifeguard looking directly at me with a smile.

I blushed before saying anything: "You're welcome. So yeah, my friend and I would love to try out these Pineapple Slide drink of your's. One with coconut, and the other just regular."

"You got it! Two Pineapple Slide of your personal choice coming right up," answered Bryan with so much excitement he could literally be bounce all over the bar. In a blur, he made our drinks in such a quick fashion while wearing food handling gloves.

First, Bryan rinses our glass and places them in front of us with little amounts of ice. Next, he grabs both the pineapple and coconut from one of their storage fruits, while also grabbing a kitchen knife. He cuts the crown off, then reaches for the special corer you can find at a store. With little to no effort, he twisted the corer once and it was able to slice while also removing the core from the fruit itself. He next grabs that top two slices and proceeds to chop them up into small chunks.

After he has the chucks cut out, he places them in our glasses, giving us equal amount of pineapple. Then, he grabs two cans of what looked like an unlimited supply of pineapple juice. Bryan next pours its contents into our drinks, as well as a hint of vodka for good measure, all the way up to the rim of the glasses. Before he handed out our drinks, he took hold of the coconut, cracked it open and scrape a bit of coconut on top of my drink. He finally put out a swirly yellow straw into our drinks before officially handing it to the both of us.

Frank and I took one sip into our drinks, and we automatically fell in love with it! We were highly impressed. I took another sip from my straw while Frank ditched his own while drinking from the glass. It was that good.

"So, what do you both think?" asked Bryan clearly anticipating a good outcome as he and his brother were patiently waiting for our input.

Frank cries: "It's so dang good. Absolutely refreshing! Thanks so much for this amazing recommendation!"

I smiled and go: "Yes, I agree! It's super good and I'm sure it will be a massive hit!" We even switched our drinks too, just to see what each drink tasted like and we both approved.

"Much obliged," bowed Bryan with a smile. "You hear that, Ryan! They absolutely love it!"

"Oh, I heard it alright. I could see it in their cute faces. This all just brings me joy. Thank you both for trying them out!"

"No problem," smiled Frank. "Anything for a small business. Cause after all, you all need to make a living somehow."

"Ooo, silly me. I didn't even introduce ourselves," Bryan goes while giving himself a palm to his face. "I'm Bryan and this is my twin brother: Ryan."

"We figured out that much, especially considering you both call each other by name from time to time. I'm Nigel and this gentleman here is Frank. We are best friends and roommates."

"Not as much a gentleman as you are, buddy old pal," Frank remarks. "This guy comes all the way from the UK."

"You know, I thought that accent was from somewhere," noted Bryan.

"The UK you say? I always wanted to go there someday," Ryan mentions.

"Well, maybe, someday you will," I replied with a big smile before even realizing what I was doing. I could have sworn Ryan was blushing there too but before anything else could be said, Bryan bursts out: "Say, let's show you a new dance I have come up with."

"A little dance lesson?" asked Frank. "Well, sign me up! You can for sure count me in."

"You don't know what kind of dance though, Frank." I mentioned wholeheartedly.

"Don't care cause I live for the moment, bud. You should know this by now."

"Oh, do I," I said with a smile. "Then it's settled. Please show us this dance you wanted to show us, Bryan."

"With pleasure," cheered the bartender. "Now you see..."

And like that, Frank and I were getting an improv dance lesson with the twin brothers right there in their water park. They called it after their wholesome attraction and drink: The Pineapple Slide. It was a funny and silly dance routine but was it so much fun that the four of us had a blast. It even attracted some bystanders, by all of which, helped the brothers get traction for good business and well needed customers. Eventually everyone was literally either dancing the Pineapple Slide, going down the yellow tube itself, and/or drinking it namesake away (either with or without alcohol)!

The music was on fire in the water park that day! We danced to Karma Chameleon by Culture Club, Keep Your Head Up by Andy Grammer, Kokomo by Beach Boys, Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen by Daimaou Kosaka, etc.

At the end of it all, we exchanged numbers that way we all can keep in contact with one another and stay connected. This included me and Ryan. By which, was going relatively well and quite smoothly. Guess that fournate was completely wrong on Qanilla's part. I do wonder how she has been doing as of lately ever since Frank and I last saw her in the spring.
