Tamara woke suddenly from the oddest of dreams, Her pink betty boop night gown drenched in sweat. Moments after waking up she couldn't remember the dream, panic and anxiety ran through her body as she scrambled through memories trying to capture a glimpse of the dream she had, one that seemed all to real.
The next day her heart felt troubled as she felt something was missing, but like most of us she tried to shrug it off and continue throughout the day. She couldn't shake this feeling she couldn't shake this dream. She knew that this dream meant something and she needed to figure out what. The rest of the day carried on as normal as any other day.
She repeatedly had this dream over and over for a total of two weeks. Slowly the memory of the dream begin to creep back into her mind, and suddenly she could remember. The more she remembered the more afraid she felt she didn't know what she was supposed to do with this information.
In this dream she is walking through the park in her hometown when suddenly she sees a girl calling out to her when she turns around the girl is reaching for her and just as she gets close enough to see her face she wakes up. In this dream there was so much emotion the girl was in tears she was hurting something was bothering her, she needed help, but Tamara could not figure out what or how she could help.
Tamara had never seen the park look the way it did in the dream it was covered in a mist of fog where you could barely see each other in the distance the trees were still green and full and beautiful the background in this dream made it seem as if everything was okay but the reality was it was not.
Finally two weeks later in a Sunday service at Tamara:s Church she went and she sat at the Pew and she began speaking to her friends that she had there she spoke to them about this dream and how it was bothering her and how her spirit was troubled and they asked her to pray about it they prayed together and prayed and ask that God would take away this dream or show her the way and show her what this dream meant. The service proceeded as usual and shortly afterwards a lady who had been quite fond of tamara called her to the side and asked a favor of her.
She said, "you are so sweet and such a motivation and encouragement to young women I wanted to ask if you would go to an event that's being held at the park for my niece who is battling cancer" without hesitation Tamara accepted the invitation, without even a thought she gathered all of her cousins, and they went to the event in the park.
Upon the arrival at the event Tamara began shuffling through all of the guests that were there and going to the guest of honor to introduce herself formally as well as her cousins. As Tamara approached and stood in front of the guest of honor she was stunned it was as if everything stood still, and everything made sense all at once this was the girl, this was the girl from her dream.
Tamara without a second thought grabbed her and hugged her tight, choking back the tears from the pain she immediately remembered like a rush over her she felt every emotion from this dream, it was not a dream, it was this young ladies reality. A pain that was a secret, but she looked at Tamara as if she knew her too. The connection was instant.
Tamara immediately began doing all that she could to make the young lady happy to brighten her day. Including trying on wigs with her and her cousins and her sister all joined in to help encourage the young lady that stood in front of them, the same age as them. The age of 16 the same exact age as Tamara battling a battle that no one could ever possibly understand.
Tamara soon understood that there was more to the story than what met the eye as if the battle that she had with cancer wasn't scary enough there was more pain from somewhere else.
While trying on wigs Tanarabdecided to follow her to get more wigs it was there that she witnessed it. The girl's mom with fear in her eyes a fear that you can feel that was just deep in her heart the fear of losing her child in a panic she began screaming take your medicine you need to take your medicine you need to do this you need to do that just an overwhelming amount of pressure and the girl replied I know Mom you're treating me like I'm already dead.
It was then that Tamara understood what she needed to do she needed to be not only a friend to her daughter but to her as well this family was being torn apart by cancer and it was clear the love that they all had for each other but because of the fear that was overwhelming them they had become incapable of seeing the moments that mattered most in times like this.
As the girl walked away Tamara step to the side with her mom and begin speaking to her privately telling her I can't imagine what you're going through and I can't imagine what your daughter is going through I know that you are both very scared but she needs you to be strong she needs you to be brave and she needs you to treat her normally this is potentially her last months or years here we do not know only God does but what we do know is that we need to show her how loved she is how beautiful she is and how she will never be forgotten.
As Tamara was speaking these words they resonated with her deeply she knew that she had completed the mission that God had sent her on. She instantly regretted ever praying that this dream would be taken away. The joy of being able to help others, and the ability to help others regardless of psychic abilities or educational abilities, regardless of the ability that we have. God has given us all a gift and he calls us to use that gift he wants us to use that gift to lead people to him. To help people. It was from this day that Tamara learned that those dreams that she had always and seemed to come true some not as bad as others some more horrific, these were God's way of leading her towards her purpose, the purpose to motivate and encourage others.
We post these stories in competition, but this story is not false it is true, and I want everyone reading it to know you got this, keep moving forward. It may be storming a storm that seems to never end, but keep clinging to your faith because God sees you, God hears you, and most importantly God knows you.
The Bible says that God sends us a comfort in times of sorrow, what a blessing it was to me to be that comfort.
This young girl went on to beat cancer and is living a healthy life now, with an even stronger connection to her mother, and friends.
