Words don’t mean. People mean.(ak)
So.
What does this mean?
Serve. Volley. Spike.
Down. Downward.
Into the face of another.
Smash it.
Into the face of another.
Rub it?
In the face of another.
Or.
Hit a guy harder when he is on his way down?
Who means what?
What did you mean?
I was not quite sure.
What you meant when you said what you said.
Or. Did what you did.
The opposite of competing is accommodating.
When one person is competing and wins, the other is accommodating. (dk)
This can be a win-lose scenario, mind you.
That is one problem with conflict resolution.
If can be conflicting.☺️
What to do. What to do?
There is a lot to be said for outsmarting the other guy. Important to remember, it is not always smart. Mean, maybe. But. Not smart.
There exists in life. A moment of truth.
Many little moments of truth, too.
C’ept, we humans often tend to muck it up.
Under-currents tend to simmer below the surface.
Of both the truths and the lies.
The key?
Measure small.
Measure often.
Small ball is small ball.
Emotions usually, or at the least often-ly ☺️ appear during some level of conflict. It is what it is. It was what it was.
You are who you are.
The best we can do, or hope to do, is embrace the worst in and of one another. It is easy to profess love when everything is going yummy, hunky dorey, and all things good.
Near impossible when we bear witness to another’s self-destruction before our very eyes.
What does it take? To get to the bottom of it? No. Not the bottom of the barrel……. That comes and goes like the wind.💨
It takes.
A steady hand.
A very steady hand.
A steady heart.
A very steady heart.
My apologies to those who say “compromise” can be a dirty word.
Because, I agree. It can be. Too many cooks in the kitchen is too many cooks in the kitchen.
We should always compete when our values are concerned.
No. Nit picking is not allowed.
Picking one’s battles. The beauty and wonder of a life well lived.
”He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty and he who rules his spirit than he who takes the city.” (Proverbs 16:32)
Translation to transformation:
Ethics= Work you a** off. Even if and when the feeling is one of being involuntarily “piled on.”🧐
Measure small. Measure often.
Arbitrary and Capricious? Nowadays selling a “brand” often creates a perception of competency. (dk)
Ugh.
What does this all mean?
Serve. Volley. Spike.
Into the face, space and life of another?
Bring It On.
Serve others only to help them improve. Love them more than we love ourselves. Truth is foundation.
Truth is foundational. (dk)
Fill in the blank.
Fill in the blanks.
Always. Your choice. Based on the information at hand of course.
(Reminder: Steady hand. Steady heart.)
Takes one to know one.
A renewed mind is the student who listens and hears through prayer. When we base our decisions off of truth, God’s truth, instead of what we have as our societal and cultural “truths” we can start to see things through the proper lens. (dk)
Translation:
God’s translation of the:
Serve. Volley. Spike.
Serve: To lend a hand and heart to one’s neighbor. Whoever that may be. Whenever it will help to lift up the personhood of another.
Volley: The beauty of the truth of the back and forth of truth.
Of truth. The flow of ideas, good ones in the interest of harmony.
Spike: The devil’s weapon of disaster and self-destruction.
Into the face of another.
God. Does not wish for the spike. Albeit sharp, it hurts. Is sneaky, mean and all things “un-spirited.”
Thus. God rejects the notion and the potion lied about and snuck under the guise of dishonesty. God rejects. Followers do, too.
Reject the notion of weakness in the interest of de-filing one another. The spirit searches all things. Every inch of our soul, too. Nary is there a time we can hide our true feelings. The ones buried so deep within us.
Explosion occurs when there has been, “too much.”
”He is with us in fear, trembling, weakness.(dk)
Steady hand.
Steady heart.
Sometimes.
It is difficult. Impossible to utter the words. Of pain, of misfortune, heartache. Expressions render us speechless. We feel weak. The voices in our head help us make decisions. We wish for, hope for an ability and its for deeper thought and to lay aside our emotions in the interest of cleared thinking.
We search for, seek a coherence of the mind. When in effect, it is coherence of the spirit we need to aspire to. For clarity.
Moral Coherence. The desire to walk in the Spirit and have life or choose to walk in the flesh and face death. Patterns can be good. Patterns can be bad.
Choices.
Decisions.
Serve.
Volley.
Spike.
Resolving conflict. A desire to walk with Him instead of the naked walk in the flesh. Baring our skin, but not bearing the soul makes the inevitable,
Inevitable.
A repeat of patterns of long-held-banging-the-head-against-the-wall beliefs. Kicking the can down the road. Again. No winners. No losers. The ongoing collaboration of all things latent. It is possible to see a win-win down the road.
Somehow.
Someday.
Somewhere.
But.
There can be no progress unless wrongdoing is admitted by the wrong doers, once and for all. Until then, the foundation of lies continues in the muck and yuck of the same old same old.
Real change takes time.
It takes your time.
It takes my time.
Additionally.
A steady hand.
A steady heart.
Otherwise the waste of time becomes the burdens to bear. And. Who wants that?
Not me.
Not now.
Not ever.
In the naked lesson of “getting real.” Take a gander in the reflection staring back at the doubts written all over your face. When the criss crosses of pain begin to disappear,
Call me.
Until then.
My phone is off the hook.
Measure small.
Measure often.
My hand is steady.
My heart is steady.
Steady. As she goes.
Words don’t mean. People mean. (ak)
