Ah! Alone at Last

To begin my adventure, of seeking out the proof I needed, I would have to travel near and far, anywhere and everywhere. I would have to look in all the places I knew of and then explore places that I knew nothing about. I would even seek out any explanation of what had happened to cause this to place from the beginning.

I first learned of this event, which was never televised or spoken about on TV or radio, since we were a town of past era communications, yes we were still using things that had long since been abandoned by most. It was when I stumbled upon a newspaper from 3 days before, stating a catastrophic event of epic proportions was heading our way, no one was sure how huge and how epic the event would be. I was still trying to understand what had caused me to forget the last 3 days, much less the very minute I "woke up".

I looked around, going into many businesses open doors and even residences as well to see if any one else had noticed the difference in our town, and to find out if they too had noticed anything unusual happening. I found no one, not one person, not one working auto, not one child playing or any noises that would indicate that I was not alone or by myself.

I wanted to be certain that no one else was hiding or trying to remain hidden so as to not be removed or vanish I continued to seek out all places, calling out names of those I had known, but only

hearing the echo of my own voice calling. I was not sure how understand this for it was a mystery to me.

I continued calling out, I ran to and fro, I was beginning to lose my breath from all the running and it was then I discovered what it was that had caused the chaos. One TV in the middle of town was the defining culprit. One TV stood in mid air, moving with an exciting fast pace, lurking and luring all things that were left, into its' screen and that was my first sign of my being alone.

No one ran out to stop it or deter it from continuing its' set decisive action, that it had started, possibly, 3 days before or even sooner. I was slightly afraid at the sight of such destructive and direct disregard for humans or even our planet, and with this thing's willingness to remove from existence all that neither mattered nor was seen as worthy to remain, it devoured each and everything completely.

I was so hoping I would wake up and discover, I had been in a coma, in a trance, in a dream, had been someplace else, somewhere else, instead of in this moment, in this place, standing here as I was standing, rigid, frightened, and confused.

Then for a split second, it sensed my presence and hovering in my direction, did not devour or even consider me being a threat, it did what any lifeless being would do, it then showed me on it's screen what all that had taken place 3 days before.

I showed, in detail, from the moment of its' arrival, to the meeting with all the world leaders, form the signing of some paper, possibly a treaty. Then it showed me, how it rose upward, growing from a small TV into even larger one, that the world had never seen. It looked in all directions, lighting up the sky with a light that was brighter than a flashlight, and with a booming voice, spoke only 3 words, "3 days Ago".

It showed me the exact reason behind it's true intentions for signing an agreement with all the world leaders, to make them stop fighting and to stop their wars and self destruction, to finally be at peace and try to get along with each other, putting aside their petty differences. The plan might have even worked for most, but there was always one that would not agree with the terms placed before all.

It was then, that at first only the lone disagree would vanish, that with this happening, the others would be in agreement, but this made all fearsome yet more determined to be in as one. The TV was rather amused at the idea of not all being in agreement, and even was willing to negotiate new terms, to try to please all present.

This matter was becoming more useless, as some sided with one person or sided with the other person, like they were willing to war right at that very moment. The TV was making sure that I was fully aware, that I was shown how I had been spared and was able to see what had taken place 3 days ago.

I thought maybe it was a joke or that I was dreaming this, maybe imagining the whole thing.

Then in horror, all the worlds leaders were absorbed into the enormous TV, (like a black hole absorbing planets), then the location they were all at, vanished immediately afterwards, only leaving the land.

Then the towns and cities, and the whole states, then the whole country all vanished completely, only leaving the land. Then more and more of the various places all over the world were then void of any animals, void of any cities, towns, buildings, void of any children, adults (young or old) except for myself.

How was it that I had been allowed to remain here and had not been considered a threat or maybe a annoying human? How had I escaped from the same fate that every other human being had met when their end came? I was not able to comprehend the full process of this, since there had before been no specific reason behind the chaotic event that was announced 3 days ago.

This was my actual proof that I was the last remaining human being on planet Earth, in the whole entire world.
