The Tricks Trixie Used With An Angel's Help

Written in response to: "Write a story where someone gets into trouble and a stranger helps them out."

Fiction

Once upon a time in the huge metropolis called Danville, Virginia there lived a 14 year-old girl named Trixie who was really smart. Actually, that was her nickname. She got it because she was so good at playing tricks on people. They were all tasteful, funny tricks. For example, when her daddy was on jury duty, she called up, "Daddy, there's a sheriff's car that just pulled up in our driveway." Then he said, "Oh, wow!" and put on his tie, fixed his hair nicely, brushed his teeth, and put on his favorite after-shave. "Here he comes," called out Trixie. By then her daddy was sweating profusely. Yet when he opened the door and saw nobody there, he shook his head and went back to what he was doing while his wife and Trixie erupted with laughter.

Another time she promised her mom she'd fix dinner for the family. As a joke, she put pepper on the fruit, which was desert. When her parents tasted it, their faces lit up like Christmas trees, but since Trixie had supposedly done her best, they both ate it and neither of them said a word.

Then one day while she was trying to wash the car like her daddy had asked her, (except she was using what l00ked like car-cleaner, but it was really paint-remover), a voice behind her said, "Don't use that, Trixie. Dish detergent is what you need." Trixie turned around and saw a man with a long, shaggy beard which made him look quite old smiling at her. Trixie had exceptionally good hearing, although she didn't hear the stranger coming up behind her. It was like he had just appeared out of thin air.

"Who are you? How could you come up behind me without making any sounds?" Trixy felt like she was in the presence of an angelic creature. Except, she didn't have the slightest idea why. Angels didn't just appear like that.

"My name is Harold," the mysterious figure said, "I'm your guardian angel. You know, it's like, 'Hark The Harold Angel's Sing' at Christmas time. That song was written about me. I've been sent down by the big Guy to help you because you're about to mess-up royally. My Boss gives everybody an angel who will look over them and keep them safe from any major disasters that might happen."

Trixie didn't know if that guy was a legitimate, "angel" like he claimed to be so she said, "Alright, if you're an angel, then where are your wings and halo? I would really like to, 'Just Call You Angel Of The Morning, Baby.' "

Harold frowned. "Well, actually I'm not a full-fledged angel yet, but every time a shooting star flies by, that's the sign that an angel has just received their wings, harp and halo. I still must prove myself worthy cause I don't want to end up being a mascot for The California Angels or Los Angeles Angels because they really do stink this year. The big Guy knows our needs, even before we ask Him. He said you needed a myrical now and sent me to grant it."

"Well, stranger, how can you help me?" asked Trixy.

"You must have faith that the impossible can be possible." said Harold with a smile, "Have faith it can can happen. That's the only way to get you out of the mess you're in."

That's when Trixie believed in the tiny person. He more than likely was some kind of angelic creature, so she raised her hands up over her head and said, "I believe I can get out of this mess that's surrounding me right now!"

"Way to go, girly!" said Harold with a smile, "Now, that's what I'm talking about! Believe you receive things and you will be surprised at how many miracles happen to you!"

Tricksy believed the Bible stories she'd heard and read so she figured God can still grant her things, even though He wasn't around for her to tell Him. "Alright," she said, "I believe in miracles. That's exactly what I need right now."

Suddenly both of the cars in the driveway were each sparkling clean and she hadn't even begun to wash them yet. That's when her daddy came up and said, "Wow, Trixy! You did an outstanding job on both of the cars! Plus you did each of them in record time! I don't know how you did it, but that thank you for the awesome work! Everything sparkels! I couldn't have done better myself!"

Her daddy was so happy he payed her a lot of money and he bought her a new car. It proves that angels are all around us. You just have to learn how to recognize them.

Then while Trixie was playing hopscotch in her drive-way, she reached down to pick up the rock, but when she bent over a wild doberman came up behind her. Trixie screamed and ran, but the dog attacked her. She laid bloody and unseous in her front yard. Her mom heard her scream and ran outside to find her lying unconsious in the yard. They were rushed to the hospital where the doctor told her mom, "If she does wake up, which is doubtful, she probably won't be able to see or hear anything. That dog almost killed her. I'm sorry, there's nothing I can do."

Harold did many other things to help her throughout her remaining time while on Earth. When her daddy moved to Los Angeliss, Harold stayed with her, only then she refered to him as a, "Los Angelous Angel." She also never pulled for The Duke Blue Devils since she had been changed for the better. She also joined a Spirit-filled, full-Gospel Pentecostal Church where she got saved and filled with the Holy Ghost so she could speak in tongues, al-though she never could speak without using her tongue.

So like the best written stories of all-time will officially finish up with, "THEY ALL LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER!!!!"
