Mystery

Clairvoyance vision is derived from French, Clair meaning ‘clear’ and voyance meaning ‘vision’. It is an ability to grasp any information about an object, person, or physical event through the extrasensory perception.

This is about a year ago when I was working in Paris. My life was awful. My job wasn’t going well, and my love life who used to be gaiety, was on the urge of a break up as it’s been a month since John and I spoke after that huge fight but not only this, I was indeed living in a haunted house! Yes, there were always some uncanny sounds coming from nowhere which initially bothered me too much but later I assumed that living near a construction site would obviously provide some perks!! Though sometimes the sounds left me perplexed.

I completed my official duties at 5, and it usually took me an hour to travel back home.

I made some dinner and went to sleep.

At 3 am the books from the shelf fell on the floor.

“I am so pissed!” I shouted. The sound of the books banging on the floor always woke me up.

As usual, I got up, picked the books, and arranged it in an orderly fashion as it was before. I was too tired to think about how it happens; hence, just like every day, I went back to sleep.

At 7 am my alarm rings off. I woke up, made some coffee and saw my beautiful painting hanging in the 30 degrees angle, again. I corrected its position. I always imagined it as nothing but a mere coincidence.

“I got an abundance of work to think about than this,” I exclaimed!

One evening when I was coming back from the office I saw a painter on the roadside. He had some of his really beautiful paintings. I couldn’t resist myself, so I went on to buy it. I didn’t mention earlier but I have a great passion for painting but never really had a chance of showing my best. I went to him. There was one painting that really attracted me. It was a painting of a broken heart. The painter used the shades of blue with so perfection. Without a second thought, I bought. The colour matched well with my curtains as well! I thought.

Among the other colourful paintings, I chose the one with the only one colour used.. ‘Blue’. The painter rather surprisingly in his typical France -English accent said

“What a beautiful choice Madame, I hope you are aware of the fact that the colour blue is a symbol of truth and faith.”

I hardly paid attention and bought it. I hung it on my wall and went to sleep. At 3.00 am I could hear uncanny sounds again coming from nowhere and then books fell from my shelf but this time I ignored it.

The next day I had a bad day in the office. So to relish, I went to the restaurant to have a good lunch. But on the contrary, it turned out to be the worst one. I saw John (my fiancé) with some other girl. I was petrified, When I bumped into him about that, it was expected what was next, he broke up.

Our 7 years of the relationship was over. He cheated. I was unable to resist this fact.

I went home. Heartbroken. I thought, what went so wrong? I literally thought of spending my life with him.

With such thoughts accompanying my mind, I looked up to my painting which I bought. I realised that painting hinted at the current situation of my life. The painter used the colour blue which he specifically mentioned symbolizes truth and faith, and I had just experienced the example of John’s perfidy, it was weird. I considered it a sheer coincidence and ignored it. After a couple of days later, I was walking by my street. The roadside painter again got my attention. This time too he had beautiful artwork. The painter used red colour and showed a long road. It was way too attractive and I couldn’t resist myself to get. So I asked him in a bit of a sarcastic tone “Would you like to tell me what does red colour symbolizes?”

“Blood,” he said without a second thought.

I giggled and bought it.

It was the weekend. I was feeling too low so I decided to go on a long drive. I took my car and went to the east. The weather was at its best, music was on volume 9’ and the car just sped away.

Until I lost control and got hit to a tree. Next moment I found myself at the hospital. Fortunately, I was not so serious. But got injured. As soon as I went home, I realized never have I ever lost control over my car and had an accident. I was scared. My forehead was paining really bad. I touched at my scar and saw, it was bleeding.

Bleeding!,  Blood!, Blood!

Words of the painter echoed in my mind. I looked up to my red painting which earlier tempted me to buy now forced me to throw out. The beautiful red colour seemed bloody to me. I panicked. I bought a painting which symbolized ‘blood’ and I just had an accident! I thought.

This was no coincidence. Soon as I made these things out, I immediately went to that seller and asked him from where did he buy such paintings? To which he replied that there is a guy who lived in the south of Paris, sells him these paintings. I took his address and fled.

The next morning I went to the guy whom I was very curious to meet as his paintings clearly expressed my future. I was tangled up in the confusion.

It took around 45 mins to get me there and then there it was ‘Geoffrey’s art’ the name of the shop. It was a huge room full of artworks, sculptures, portraits. And then there was one painting kept at the corner, enormously big and exceptionally beautiful. I went close to get a better view and gazed in awe at it. That was a painting of a girl and the girl was no one, but me. Suddenly I heard my name called

“Miss. Eleanor? I am glad you are here.” He said with an unusual smile.

“Are you Mr Geoffrey?” I asked.

“Yes certainly.” was his answer.

“How do you know my name? And what is this painting?” I asked surprisingly.

He was very uneasy and couldn’t reciprocate. He held the courage and said, “You wouldn’t really believe if I tell you, ma’am.”

“What is it?” I asked. I was scared.

“Well, would you mind to get settled first?”

“No! Please, I want answers. And apparently, your painting can give that. I could have been dead Mr. Geoffrey! Do you even realize what is happening with me? how unusual this all is?” I continued, “And maybe or maybe not your paintings predict my future! I don’t know if I sound stupid or dramatic but this is the truth. So please help me figure this all out.”

“Ma’am I want you to first be calm and listen, carefully. It may seem unbelievable to you but I am capable to see and talk to a person who is living or dead, human or ghost, nearby or miles away; through my extrasensory perception or what you may call a clairvoyance vision.

I was not sure what he meant by clairvoyance.

He continued. “I am able to see and moreover talk to you. This happens only when I am asleep. I don’t do it intentionally but my subconscious mind does. I don’t see any dreams but I see you. My mind follows you, your home and through my subconscious mind, I am able to see you. Every morning I woke up and have one colour in my mind which certainly tells the scenario of your life. I make the best painting out of it. I don’t know why I do this but since you buy my paintings, you come across my thoughts which apparently tells your future.”

I was taken aback. Clairvoyance vision, I hardly heard of it in books, movies sometimes. But this person.. it can’t be true or is it? I was lost in my thoughts and suddenly it struck me that falling of the book every night, that tilting of the picture every morning was no coincidence. It was him.

And that is why he made that painting of a girl who looks like me.

“Yes, I was the one, who you thought to be a spirit that haunts your house. It is a sheer power of my mind that enables me to travel at distances. It is indeed crazy yet true. I once lived where apparently you are living right now but I could not pay the mortgage and left it in despair. But I guess my mind couldn’t. I loved that house. I spend half of my life there. I worked day tonight, but couldn’t afford to pay my mortgage. I felt miserably bad when I had to leave the house.

So that is why I have clairvoyance visions. I have a strong connection from that house. This is uncontrollable, as my subconscious mind do this.”

I had no word to say. I stood quiet.

“If you want this all to stop then you must stop buying my paintings.”

This is insane! thought but I believed him. Without a word, I left. Many thoughts begin to cover my mind. I was way too scared of this fact that someone is around me… every time.

And yes there was no ghost, on the contrary, it was him.

I was really terrified. I decided to leave Paris and moved to Italy.

After a few years, I started a new career of mine. Painting.

I made some of my most wonderful creations. I never contacted Geoffrey, ever.

I was too afraid to talk to him. And now no such things happened to me again as I left that house.

I was now living in a small house in Venice. Pursuing my passion, and of course, making good money out of it!

Every day is a new day for me. A different one. A better one.

I poured a cup of coffee in my favourite cup and sat beside my window looking outside. Thinking how beautiful and natural everything seems. I realized that there are many more things that are way haunted than just an abandoned scary, house. In fact, this is all science. I searched for clairvoyance later and found many more interesting stories than what happened to me. So there are not just ‘ghost’ that can haunt you but also amazing science that can terrify you. While looking outside at the beautiful scenery, and lost in my own profound thoughts, I heard my flower pot kept on the upper shelf suddenly fell. I looked at it, smiled, and continued sipping my coffee…

Interesting story. I would consider adding a grammar app like Grammarly to correct some of your errors. Otherwise, I quite enjoyed it.

Thank you! I am glad you liked it. Although I did rectify the errors through Grammarly but didn’t realize some of them are still left! Can you suggest a better app?

Grammarly is the app that I use, and for the most part, it has worked well. White smoke is a good one, but you have to pay for it and it still makes errors.
