What are we arguing about

Drake and Sandra we're driving to the party.

Sandra protested "I don't want to go, I don't like big groups of people. I don't go to parties, what am I going to say? What do drunk people talk about?"

"You'll be fine, just try to be yourself and relax" said Drake

"That's horrible advice, it's a paradox. I think I seen it on tv. 'have you ever tried to relax it's a paradox.' Do you know what ironic reversal is? you don't try to be yourself, you'd be acting then" Sandra said

"Well then don't just act, BE" said Drake

Sandra forced a smile. Drake could see she wasn't smiling with her eyes.

"And don't just smile, smile like ya mean it." Said Drake

Sandra fought it but, her smile overtook her face. Drake said this to her all the time when she wasn't smiling with her eyes. It never failed to produce a genuine smile. Drake wanted to focus on arguing about whether or not it was good advice, to avoid the looming argument of not wanting to go to the party.

"You love Chris Cornell and he said 'to be yourself is all that you can do' remember." said Drake

"You love Bukowski and he said 'dont try' it's even on his tombstone. You always say 'to be yourself and try is all that you can do'. it's your little philosophy but, they go against eachother, it's a paradox. Like I said you don't try to be yourself. Remember what the girl says in that taxi driver movie you love so much? 'Hes a prophet and a pusher partly truth partly fiction a walking contradiction'.

Drake was succeeding he knew she wanted to argue but, she didn't know.... YET that she wanted to argue against going to the party.

Drake kept it going "I think Bukowski meant don't try to be something your not"

"You perplex me.... this is a mistake I don't want to go to the party." Sandra said

Drake thought for a second "Is it? A mistake is a regret and regrets lead to sadness. Unless youre sad about it it's not a mistake. I can tell when you're sad and you aren't sad. I don't even think there is a such thing as a mistake"

"HA HA I can't wait to hear this. What do you mean you don't think there's a such thing as a mistake?" Sandra said

"There are no mistakes, only decisions and you don't know whether or not they were good or bad decisions till long after. Deciding whether or not they were good or bad decisions is a bad decision. 'what if what if what if.' What if you didn't waste all that time on 'what ifs' you could do something productive." Said Drake

"That's a horrible way to look at it, you need to think of it as mistakes. You can learn from mistakes, what is a wise man if not someone who made mistakes. You need to remember your dreams too, I keep telling you to keep a dream journal." Sandra said

"Ahh this again I will 'leave it in my dreams' like the voidz said. Dreams are just your brain taking a poop at the end of the day." Said Drake

"It's conflict resolving. The voidz also said 'smart people will learn from fools'. You don't think that was about mistakes?" Sandra said

"Yeah other peoples bad decisions are mistakes but not mine I can do no wrong." Said Drake

"I hate you, quit changing the subject. I don't want to go to the party, turn around." Sandra said

"Come on Sandra, my friends really want to meet you. THE WORLDS CALLING YOUR NAME. It will be a night of enchantment." Said Drake

"You're so different" Sandra said

"I wouldn't know, I don't compare myself to others. Compared to WHO? YOU? ARE YOU NORMAL?" Said Drake

"Yeah you're different and it wasn't an insult don't yell" Sandra said

"Yeah I know I was yelling for comedic purposes. I do compare myself to others. If you want to FEEL BETTER about yourself, compare yourself to others and judge THEM. If you want to BETTER yourself, compare yourself to others and judge YOURSELF." Said Drake

"You're a cartoon character" Sandra said

"Hey X's means hugs" said Drake

"No O's means hugs" said Sandra

Sandra remembered back to when they first had the argument. When they first met they wanted to play tic tac toe they both wanted to be hugs.

"X's means hugs" said Drake

"No O's means hugs" Sandra said

"I think the x is the arms crossing for the hug. The O is for the shape your mouth makes when you kiss" said Drake

"Well if you split the X down the middle, that can be two mouths meeting for a kiss. The O is a hug for OBVIOUS reasons. It goes way back though, people couldn't read or write back in the day. They'd sign documents with an X and kiss it to emphasize the importance just as you'd kiss the Bible." Said Sandra

"WOW, well I'm smart enough to know when someones smarter than me but, also smart enough not to let them know....wait....FUCK" Drake said

"Cute real fuckin cute" Sandra said

"Well if we agree do disagree we can both be hugs. We both want to be hugs anyway so we both win" said Drake

"Well I guess you're right" said Sandra

Then Sandra thought that Drake thought "well since I kind of won that argument, even though I wouldn't consider it an argument myself. I kind of have to let her win at tic tac toe."

Then she won and she got mad saying "you let me win"

"You let me win that day, I know you did I know what you were thinking." Said Sandra"

"OH so now you can read minds, you're being crazy" said Drake

"IM NOT BEING CRAZY" Sandra yelled

"Crazy in this case means defending your sanity, so yes you are being crazy" said Drake

Sandra gave a pout "I hate you"

"Do you remember what we were arguing about." Said Drake

"Don't fuck with my pretty little head" Sandra said
