It was my first day in a new job and all I could think about was the night before. The man. His arms around me and his lips on mine. My mind was filled with our long conversations. I shook my head as I continued to get dressed in a black skirt and a peach coloured shirt.

I walked out of my house and sighed deeply as I entered my car, dropping my bag in the seat next to mine. My brown hair, flew around my face as I began to drive away from my house.

I've moved around so much that new jobs became second nature to me. Olivia Hemends (me) can't stay in one place more than five months. It was something that started because of fear but now I can't live without it.

The wind hollowed gently as I drove past multiple buildings. London city was a lovely place to live in. I've only really been living in it for a week but from what I've seen, it's busy and loud. It also has its charms.

I'm starting work at a company. I'll be working as a personal assistant for one of the big workers but I'm not really sure who. When I went to the interview I wasn't given all the info.

After driving for about ten minutes, I reached the company and parked skilfully. I didn't enter the building straight away. I just stood outside watching the busy atmosphere around me and letting people walk by me. After taking a deep breath, I checked the watch on my wrist knowing I wasn't late and walked into the building. My black heels echoed across the tiles as I continued to make my way towards the receptionist who was busy typing on the computer in front of her.

I strained a smile before I spoke, "I'm here to start my new job."

"Name?" She didn't take her eyes off the screen of the computer and I stood awkwardly.

"Olivia Hemends." I responded before glancing around the building. People rapidly strolled around the place in work mode not letting anything distract them.

"You're the new personal assistant for the boss," The receptionist looked me up and down like she was accessing me, "I'll take you to his office. Follow me." I nodded curtly as she stood up from her seat and began to lead me towards the multiple elevators. The ding of the elevator that I stood in front of with the receptionist woke me up from my day dream.

I let my mind go over what the receptionist said once we entered the elevator. Would it be worst working for the boss? It made a little more nervous knowing I was working with someone really important. I couldn't help but wonder what he was like. Was he nice? Rude?

I let the receptionist exit the elevator first and I followed her a few seconds later. I had to speed up a little since she was walking so fast. By the time we reached the bosses' office I was slightly out of breath. I watched as the receptionist knocked the door but no one replied.

"He must not be here yet." I couldn't do anything else but nod quietly as she opened the office door. I followed her in looking around at the stylish office.

"Do you know when he'll get here?"

"I'm not sure. You can sit here for now. I have work to do." She pointed at the black sofa and I nodded sitting down before she left. I leaned back in my seat closing my eyes for a few seconds. Now that I have nothing else to do, I couldn't help my mind going back to the man I met the day before.

The night before was a cold and lonely night before I met him. I was sitting alone in a bar not trying to think about how I would have to try and get used to a new place again when I noticed a group of men strolling confidently into the bar. I was in the middle of asking the worker to pour more alcohol into my cup when I heard someone sit next to me. I glanced to my left and found one of the men sitting next to me talking to one of the workers.

"What would a pretty lady like be doing here alone?" I thought about ignoring him and walking away but for some reason I didn't. Now, I don't regret not ignoring him because he made me smile. Like genuinely smile and laugh. That was a new thing to me.

The office door being open distracted me from my thoughts and I looked up. My mouth hung open as I gaped at the man standing in front of me. His familiar features could stand out to me in any crowd even though I have only met him once.

"So...you're my new assistant, Olivia Hemends?" I only knew his first name, which apparently was Luke. I didn't know his surname or what job he did until now.

"Y-Yeah...sir?" I wasn't sure if that was the right thing to say but I went with it anyway. I couldn't stop my hear from beating rapidly as he continued to stare at me. He didn't see surprised at all.

"Well, Miss Hemends, my name is Luke Richards. You can just call me Mr Richards. Your job starts now. I have a meeting in about..." He checked the expensive looking watch on his wrist before looking back up at me, "Five minutes. I'm sure you wouldn't mind following me?"

He's pretending not to know me. Well, two can play that game. I strained a smile before responding, "Sure. That's fine with me, Mr Richards." I couldn't stop staring at him and only stopped when he cleared his throat.

"Meeting. Three minutes." Was I staring at him for that long?

Once we reached the room I assume the meeting was being held I entered and found multiple people sitting around a long table. I followed Luke to the seat at the top of the table and sat next to him.

Most of the meeting was boring but I couldn't stop my interest from peaking when Luke began to speak. My teeth automatically bit down on my bottom lip as I watched him in his natural habitat. From what I've seen in the short amount of time I've been working for him, he seemed to love his job. A smile would come to his face every time someone asked him a question that he could answer. If he couldn't answer a question he would crease his eye brows and run his hands through his dark hair. His hazel eyes were filled with a lot of happiness as he explained his point to everyone.

"You can all leave." My heart jumped when I noticed Luke was staring at me and I looked away. I stood up knowing he probably saw me staring at him like a piece of meat.

"Not you, Miss Hemends." I paused on my way out letting the others leave the room.

It was only after everyone had left that I spoke, "Is there a problem, Mr Richards?" He stood up and walk slowly towards me. As he got closer and closer my heart began to beat rapidly and I felt like it was about to burst out of my chest.

"No, no problem. I just wanted to say..." He paused for a long second before clearing his throat, "Get me some coffee." My face dropped in disappointment and I nodded attempting to leave.

"Make it quick," I watched him exit the room before I scoffed in annoyance. I ran my hands through my hair as I exited the room and walked towards the elevator. I entered an open elevator and almost ran back out when I noticed Luke standing in it with his phone against his ears.

"Ok, I love you too." I heard Luke speak softly to the person he was talking to before cutting the call. He placed his phone into the pocket of his grey suit trousers as I thought about who he could be talking to. Girlfriend? Sudden anger swirled in me as I thought through everything that has happened and the fact that the man I am attracted to could have a girlfriend. I scoffed loudly crossing my arms across my chest leaning back.

"Is something wrong?"

I couldn't stop myself from glaring at him, "Nope. Nothing's wrong."

He seemed offended but I ignored it.

"Actually-" What was about to be my long list of complaints to him was stopped when I suddenly felt the elevator jerking to a stop.

"What the hell just happened?" I mumbled to myself as I aggressively pushed the buttons in the elevator. When nothing worked I began to panic, "No, no. Not today. Not now."

"Calm down. We can just press the emergency button," I watched Luke press it but again nothing happened, "I have my phone." He took out his phone and sighed, "No signal."

"I can't believe I'm stuck in an elevator with my dickhead boss." I whispered to myself as I sat down. I tried to pull out my phone and exhaled remembering that I left it in my bag since I wasn't allowed to use it while working.

"I heard that," He glared at me before he began to bang on the elevator door, "Hello! Anyone there?!" I crossed my legs running my hands down my face. I heard groaning so I looked up and found Luke pulling open the elevator door.

"Shit. We're stuck between two floors."

"This is just great. Great."

"You know, your sarcasm isn't really helping in this situation." Luke sat down in the other corner of the elevator as I rolled my eyes.

"Good to know."

"What is your problem?" Luke asked turning to me.

"What is my problem? You're seriously asking me that right now? You know what? All that matter's now is getting out of here."

"I'm sure you're not blind."

"You're right, Mr Richards, I'm not blind. Well done. Ya want a treat?"

Luke scoffed turning away from me. Minutes passed and the heat began to pick up. Sweat dripped down my face and my breath was coming out harsher.

"We're not gonna die in here, right?" I questioned and heard Luke dissolve into laughter.

"Why are you laughing? None of this is bloody funny."

When he was finally able to stop laughing he held up his hand, "Sorry. It's just...you're different. From last night, I mean."

"I could say the same about you."

"I'm exactly the same," He pointed at himself smirking, "You're the different one. Yesterday...you we're a lot less....how should I say this? Annoyed?

"I'm just annoyed with you." We gaze at each other for a few seconds before he looks away.

"How long has it been?" He looked down at his watch.

"You're doing it again." I say.

"Doing what, Miss Hemends?"

"Changing the subject, Mr Richards. Firstly, you act like you don't know me-"

"You did that too."

"But at least I had some kind of reaction when I saw you. I thought...I thought last night meant something. I guess...I was wrong."

"You weren't-" The elevator began to down making me scream loudly. It stopped harshly pushing me to the door of the elevator. I hit my head on the ground and began to groan in pain.

"Are you ok?" Luke asked pulling me up from the ground and cupping my face with both of his palms, "Blood." He touched my forehead and I winced pulling my head back.

"There's blood?" I questioned panicking as I attempt to touch it but Luke grabs my hand.

"You probably shouldn't touch it if it hurts." He explains letting go of my hand, grinning softly. It was only then I saw how close he was. My eyes couldn't help but stay on his face before my gaze went down to his lips. His minty breath fans my face and all I wanted to do in that moment was to push my face closer to his. I closed my eyes and sighed when I felt him stroking my cheek.

"Last night was...it was amazing. Meeting you...was amazing." He whispered pushing some of my hair out of my face. He slowly moved his face closer to mine as I swallowed. The sudden thought that he could have a girlfriend went through my mind and just as he was about to place his lips on mine so I turned my face away.

"Y-You have a...girlfriend," He seemed confused so I explained further, "You...uh..."I love you too". You said it on your call. I-" I was cut off by Luke's laughter once again. I stared at him, unamused and waited for him to finish laughing.

"That wasn't my girlfriend. I was talking to my mum."

"Oh," I rolled my eyes when I saw that he continued to smirk at me, "Why did you pretend not to remember me?"

"It was strange. Meeting you the way I did. Not being able...to get you out of my head. It-It has never happened to me before. When I saw you today...my mind went to protective mode. I couldn't believe how everything was so perfect. I thought there must be something that I'm missing."

"There is something you're missing."

"Oh yeah? What's that?"

"My father. He became really violent after my mother died and would come home drunk out of his mind. He used to...he used to...um...hit me. A lot. I finally had the courage to talk to someone about...a year ago. He's in prison now but I just feel like...he's chasing me everywhere I go." I didn't know where the courage came from but I assumed it was because I didn't think Luke would judge me.

"You-"

"Oh. I'm sorry...for springing that all on you. I'm so stupid. A guy I just met wouldn't want to hear all that about my life. I-" My words were cut off when Luke smacked his lips onto mine kissing me softly. I was shocked at first but after getting over it, I kissed him back just as passionately. The both of us eased back as I cupped his cheek with my palm.

"I'm glad you told me."

"So you couldn't stop thinking about me, mmm?" Luke rolled his eyes, "Well, now I can finally say I couldn't stop thinking about you too."

"Good." He whispered.

"Good." I chuckled as he tried to kiss me again but was stopped when we both hear noises coming from outside the elevator. We gaped at each other before shooting up from the ground and jogging towards the door of the elevator.

"There're people in here! Can you hear us?!" I screamed as I began to hit the door with Luke.

"We can hear you!" I sighed in relief, "How many people are in there?"

"Two people!" Luke replied.

"Mr Richards?! Is that you?!" One of the men screamed and it made me remember who Luke was. It made me remember that he was my boss.

"Yeah, it is! Just be quick please!"

"I thought we were going to be locked here forever." I mumbled glancing at Luke who had a relived look on his face. It took a few minutes for the people to get me and Luke out of the elevator when they did I let myself inhale and exhale multiple times. There wasn't many people in the building and I wondered where they all were.

"They must have been sent home." Luke informed me and I nodded as we were taken to the ambulances waiting outside. Understandably, there were some reporters waiting for Luke outside the building but he decided to follow me than answer their questions. I was told to sit and the back of an opened ambulance and to wait for someone to treat my head which I had totally forgotten about. Luke sat next to me.

A few minutes a later, a paramedic came and helped me clean up the wound and put a plaster over it. I thought it was all done but after I explained what happened the paramedic suggested that I should go to the hospital to check if I had a concussion.

"Wanna come with me?" I asked when the paramedic left.

"Yeah. I'll drive."

"No it's fine-"

"If you do have a concussion I'm pretty sure it's not safe for you to drive. I'm thinking about my life here." I snorted shaking may head as he helped me get up.

"I can walk you know?"

"I know." He shrugged and he still continued to help me walk towards his car.

"Wait, should we consider this our first date?" I asked as he opened thee door for me and I entered his car.

"What? No way," He began to drive away from the building, "How about this? After this whole concussion thing is out of the way, I'll take you on a proper date that doesn't involve getting stuck in an elevator."

"No, but that was the best part," I whined before the both of us chuckled, "I would love that."

"Me too." Luke whispered as he placed his hand over mine squeezing it gently. I didn't know what the future had in store for me but I knew this was an amazing start.
