On December 5th of 2053, at 1345 hours, I was dispatched to 27 Walburga Place to evaluate a disturbance in the occupants' backyard. Upon my arrival, I met with Officer Lupus, who had already been on the scene for five minutes, and Reg A. Black, the owner of the flat.
Mr Black stated that approximately an hour before our arrival–he estimated it was 1230 hours–he had heard a loud ‘buzz’ coming from outside, and then a small ‘boom’ like something had fallen. He had then gone outside to investigate and found an abnormal, blinding circular object that was radiating heat in their backyard, which he said was ‘reminiscent of a star.’ He had also stated that his roommate, Orion F. Evans, had touched the object and had fallen into what he had described to be a ‘mumbling stupor.’ Mr Black also reported that when Mr Evans first touched it, his skin glowed in the same hue as the object, and his skin hummed the same way the object did for a few seconds. There is no evidence of any of this happening, except for the fact that Mr Evans was faint.
Officer Lupus had gone to care for Mr Evans while I had ventured to the backyard to further evaluate the object. The grass around it was burnt to crisp, confirming Mr Black’s statement of it being high temperature, though it must’ve cooled when we had arrived, as heat was no longer radiating from it. My body camera wasn’t able to show a clear recording of it, as it was too bright. But from my memory, I wasn't able to tell what shape the object was, as it shone so brightly that the edges — if there even were any — were blurred, and I was blind for a few minutes afterwards. Do not look at it directly; it is as intense as the sun. I remember the colour as being faintly golden, mostly white. When I squinted, I could see little white sparks jumping up and down from what must’ve been the surface of the object. Like Mr Black said, it was humming; there was no fathomable source of the sound except for the blinding mess itself.
With gloved hands, I had tried to feel the object out of pure curiosity. There is nothing I can report back; it wasn’t in a singular state of matter and didn’t have any particular texture. It was atypical. I didn’t contract the same symptoms as James, although I have felt mentally uncanny ever since. If anyone else is to touch the object, ensure their hands or any area of possible contact are thoroughly covered.
At approximately 1425 hours, Mr Evans regained consciousness. I will now attach a relevant transcript of a interview I conducted and recorded at around 1430 hours. This shows that this object is most likely something out of this world and would require further examination. I believe this will be essential to the investigation, if there is one.
Orion: Where am I? What’s happening?
Officer Da Silvia: Hello, Orion. I am Officer Marlene Da Silvia. You are not in trouble; I am just going to ask you a few questions, and I would like you to answer truthfully. Could you please describe what happened once you touched the glowing object?
Orion: What’s going on?
Regulus: Relax, Orion. They just want to acquire information about the star.
Officer Da Silvia: Are you saying that the object is a star?
Regulus: I don’t know, sir. It just feels like the most reasonable explanation. Makes it seem magical instead of eerie.
Officer Da Silvia: Alright. Orion, could you answer my previous question?
Orion: Oh, OK. I felt… It felt like magic. It’s magic. I know that it’s magic.
Officer Da Silvia: Do you feel alright?
Orion: I feel like magic.
Officer Da Silvia: Why do you believe that the object is magic? Did something happen when you felt it?
Orion: Yes, it was talking to me. Not in language, but in another form. I can tell that it is from another world. I promise you, officer, I am not going insane. I remember it clearly.
Officer Da Silvia: Are you sure? Alright. What else can you feel? Are you in pain? Did you feel any pain? Any damage to your senses?
Orion: No, I am feeling the opposite of pain. All my senses were as sharp as ever, except for my sight; the light blinded me. There is still a slight glare in my vision.
Officer Da Silvia: Yes, I was blinded as well. You claimed that the object was ‘speaking’ to you. What was the object saying to you?
Orion: It was a star! It’s not just an object!
Regulus: Orion, calm down.
Officer Da Silvia: What was the… star ‘saying’ to you?
Orion: I… I don’t know how to tell you without sounding like a lunatic, but I promise I am not crazy. But the star was saying, ‘Beware, beware, beware. We are coming’
Our short interview commenced at approximately 1437 hours. Mr Evans answered all the questions with clear confidence. Officer Lupus had called for paramedics at 1440 hours to care for him, despite Mr Evans' clear protests, just in case there was something wrong with his head. It simply cannot be possible that it is a star, right?
At around 1445 hours, I had called for backup, and Officer Mary and Officer Crouch arrived at 1452 hours. Together, we had managed to move the object onto a wagon, and they had transported it to the Meades police station. A forensic team will further investigate the object. We are waiting until they have concluded their examination.
Once the backup had left, we inquired with the residents who lived nearby. 20, 21, 23, 24, 25, 29, and 30 Walburga Place had all stated, and thereby verifying Mr Black's statement, that those at home had all heard a loud buzzing noise and a large boom at around 1230 hours, a few even reported seeing a blinding flash from the sky moments before. We can conclude from this that the object came from the sky.
Officer Lupus believes this isn’t a serious situation, but I can feel something is wrong. The object clearly isn’t man-made, yet I don’t believe it seems like anything nature could create. Maybe Mr Evans and Mr Black were correct when they said it was a star. But perhaps my judgment is wrong.
Ever since I touched the object, I haven’t felt right. At night, the stars whisper to me. They’re alive. They’re coming. Maybe I am catching Mr Evans’ lunacy, maybe I’m growing insane. I recommend immediate investigation.

This is brilliantly unsettling. The contrast between the police officers’ matter-of-fact tone and the bizarre, otherworldly nature of the object made it feel like a real report being slowly corrupted by the inexplicable – I was both grounded and terrified reading it.
