Maddie, you've been pronounced dead. Also, happy birthday! You're now 15. I miss you. I had to plan the party by myself, but it was still a lot of fun. Your mom is also gone. She couldn't take your disappearance better than your dad could. I saved you a slice of cake. My dad put me into therapy. He says I’ve been through something traumatic, and I need someone to vent to. He says I need to stop texting you. He says that you won’t respond. Everyone has stopped looking. Except for me. I’ll keep looking, I promise. Ooh- also- you had a whole funeral in school for yourself, even if school isn’t in anymore. I know you would’ve approved. They don’t believe you’re still alive, but I do. You have to be. We were going to the mall this month, remember? You owe me $20 from the last trip we went on. Is it about that? All is forgiven if you just come home. I really do miss you. Hi Maddie! Sorry, it’s been a while, I got grounded cause I kept texting you, then school got crazy. I miss you so much. Did you know that Mrs. Rodrigez got married? I know, right? We totally called it. The cake got moldy, I’m sorry, but it’s still waiting for you on our table. I won’t let Dad touch it. My therapist says you’re not out there anymore, that I need to keep moving on. I know you are, so please keep fighting. I miss you so much. I cry every night, collect my tears in a jar, and scatter them onto my plants. I know how much you love plants. Also, my dad remarried. Her name is Maddison. Crazy, right? Anyways, she’s a total jerk, and you would hate her. Also, I’m still waiting for you to come back. We still need to go skiing, remember? You promised to let me borrow your new pink skis. Maddie! Oh my gosh, I’m getting married today. Kai proposed. Sorry, I haven’t texted in a while. It’s been so busy. Happy birthday, Maddie! You are now 35 with me. I have a daughter who was born on July 31st. Her name is Maddie. She reminds me so much of you. She’s smart and talented. What I would give for you two to meet. My therapist has passed away, so I guess we’re growing older than I thought we were. My dad broke up with Maddison. Finally. He also stopped talking to me since I still keep texting you. I just miss you so much, and it’s crazy that you might be gone. WHERE ARE YOU?! Your dad has been asking me where you are, and you disappeared out of nowhere. I need to plan my birthday party with you. Your mother is frantic with worry, and I told her that you’re at my house. I don’t know if she believed me, but you need to come home. I’m also worried about you disappearing. Is this because of our fight? I’ll look it up, I’m sure you’re right. Just please come back home. Also, Kai proposed, and the wedding was the best day of my life. We have a kid, and her name is Maddie, after you. Also, Kai vanished and left. Maddie is now only 10, and I’m working five jobs trying to find a stable life for us.
