Klaus’s red eyes were staring at the horizon for 10 minutes straight and he noticed a storm gathering up. Klaus was a 19 year old artist living in a city apartment. He said, “A storm? Can it get any worse?” Right after that, an explosion brightened up the sky endlessly. In the far distance the electric power station blew up and burned into rubble and there was total darkness.
All the lights were dead.
Everyone freaked out and panicked when some soldiers were telling people to get under shelter immediately. Klaus watching from the roof was puzzled and came down and asked his neighbor what was happening. His neighbor said in fear, “I don’t know there are soldiers around running, it means we are being invaded or something!!!” The trembling neighbor ran down the stairs and locked himself in his room. Klaus asked a soldier what is happening around here; the soldier gave him a mad look and marched away with the rest of the soldiers. Klaus was not in panic or in a rush; he has never been in a rush. He thought soldiers were preparing for a battle but one of the soldiers said “we are helping people to get them inside as soon as possible because our command center had spotted an enemy armed drone above 2 000 feet”. Klaus replied “why are the lights gone then?”
The soldier replied “they have a device that destroyed all technologies, and now please take cover somewhere, go!” Klaus replied back by saying ok but went to his apartment and grabbed a long ranged telescope and went to the roof to see the drone, but the thick clouds hugged the sky, not allowing Klaus to see the drone. Suddenly a small bright flash came from the sky and he saw the drone but it was a very odd shape and suddenly it moved very fast and flew even higher into space! Klaus told himself “is this a dream?” The soldiers started to get out of the city and everyone was coming out of their shelters. It was still very dark and cold so Klaus went inside his room and tried to call his friend Karl, but the phone wasn’t working, suddenly Klaus heard a knock on his door and it was Karl with a frightened face. Klaus and Karl started discussing about the strange phenomenon that happened today. Lights were still out and no technology was working. Karl finally yelled out “I believe it’s the Aliens!!. Klaus started laughing and said “you should watch fewer movies.” Karl said “hmm I guess you are right” Klaus did know that he saw that Unidentified flying object on the sky today but he never told anyone. Karl and Klaus planned what they are going to do the whole night. Karl had brought his stuff and started to unpack things while Klaus was in his mind deep thinking that could there be more life forms out there who caused this black out? Or was it just an illusion. Karl had a old fashioned radio that worked but was very weak. The person on the radio said “A very strange blue metal like rod has been found on the main city power station which destroyed the whole building. It came from above and was very fast.” After hearing this Karl said “aha! I knew that there were some other beings out there!” Klaus told Karl what he saw on the telescope and Karl said “it doesn’t matter it was an alien or an enemy drone, all that matters now is surviving in this dark. Karl and Klaus started there night time activities at 12pm and Karl started to write about all this in his diary while Klaus was reading a book called “the art of Art” at 1 pm they played chess and other board games. To make things even more fun they put on bets. At 2pm they ate there snacks and kept listening to the radio, the man on the radio made an important speech again saying “we don’t know when the lights will be fixed but we do know it will take a day or 2.” Karl reacted “oh man, a day or 2? I’m going to die till that time!” Klaus told Karl to shut up and told him to shut it and let’s go outside to see what’s going on. The streets were dead quiet and no one was there. Dogs were barking, cats were purring, but there was no sound of any engine or any technology. There were birds flying to east at night time which is very unusual. Klaus said “what is up with the birds flying at 4am to the east?” Karl didn’t reply as they both know that neither of them knew the answer. They went inside and the man on the radio made another announcement “we will be investigating the blue metal rod sent from the sky”
Karl had an idea of a prank; he wore a white ghost costume and was going to run in the apartment to scare people. Klaus agreed and tagged along. When they tried to find people in the apartment, there weren’t any. Everyone was in there rooms sleeping
Karl and Klaus came back with disappointment in their faces. It was starting to get boring and the boys went to sleep. The hours were so quite. All they could hear was sounds of birds and animals. It was like they were also panicking. They were creating strange sounds. Karl and Klaus were sleeping very peacefully in their beds. The rain was over but the wind was getting stronger than ever. Shrills, shouts ,yells , cries, screams filled the air at 8am when everyone was up. Klaus was already up staring out the window in horror. Karl woke up and said good morning Klaus. His eyes weren’t fully open yet but he heard Klaus say “there is no good morning”. Karl said “Ay what?” he saw out the window and was shocked to see that it was still night when the time was 8am. Karl switched on his radio and heard the man say “The morning never came! It’s morning time, but it’s still dark! Unfortunately, some aliens have robbed the Earth of its Sun.” And from then on started the infinite night, as all the lights were dead.
