Her eyes opened slowly, blinking a few times. All that was in front of her was a dark room. The noise was coming from the other bed that was by the corner of the room. The room had two beds and one crib. She laid still on her bed facing the wall, she tried to breath as normal as possible, or she thought she was, pretending she was still asleep. The only thing moving were her eyes to try to understand what the noise was and why there was a conversation so late at night. The laughter was coming from Johanna’s bed. She heard the laughter again, but softer. “Hahahaha, hahaha.” Johana laughed. “Maybe she is talking to her other sister.” Thought Letty. “But Amelia can’t talk yet. "She thought to herself. “Someone is awake.” Said man. His voice was raspy, but deep. “How do you know?” Asked Johana. “Because I can smell fear.” Said the man in a gentle whisper as he grin from ear to ear. Johana looked up at him. She couldn’t quite make out his face in the dark only. She knew two things however, one was that this was a man's voice speaking to her and he came every night, and two that whenever they were done talking, he wasn’t there anymore he would vanish. After Letty heard the man whisper something else, she got the courage to speak. “Umm Johana, sweety who are you talking to?” She asked. Letty still laid on the bed facing the wall. She was too scared to turn back towards her sister. She felt a heavy sensation come all over her body. The small hairs on her body stood up. She felt a presence near her right ear. “They all belong to me now.” He whispered. Her body froze, her body paralyzed and the only thing moving were her eyes. She was blinking rapidly. “I was talking to a man he is my friend,” said Johana. Making Letty come back to reality and snap out of the trans she was in. “Can I sleep next to you?” Asked Johana. “Of course, baby.” replied Letty. Johana, still sitting on her bed, tiled her upper body forward, towards her pillow and with her right hand being close to her flashlight grabbed it. She brought it up close to her face and pressed the button on the flashlight to turn on. However, it didn’t turn on, so she pressed the button again. She banged the top of the flashlight to her palm. “Letty, my flashlight isn’t working.” She said, Letty reached her arm under her pillow to grab her flashlight. She was hesitant to turn it on and did not know what she would see when flashed towards Johana, but she had to pretend she was brave, at least for the four-year child. Johana got down from her bed and found her way through the dark room while Letty gave her some light to go to her bed. She laid the opposite way of Letty facing the direction of her bed, Letty was still facing the wall. She was speechless, as to what else to ask Johana that precise moment about what she head. All she heard in her head was the voice of that man.

Daylight came, and a ray of sunlight hit right on Letty’s eyes. She frowned and opened her eyes slowly. She turned around and Johana was sleeping next to her, her feet dangling off the side of the bed. Johana’s bed was made though, it was strange because she thought Johana had woken up at night to come to her bed. “Did I dream about what I heard last night?” she said. But then doubted herself since Johana was laying next to her asleep. She took a deep inhale, held her breath for a few seconds, and exhaled out. “It was just a dream.” She repeated to herself. As she was about to cover Johana, she noticed dirt on her fingernails and bruises on her arm. Johana looked as if something grabbed her very tightly on her arm. She wanted to wake her sister up. Just then Letty realized she didn’t have to. Johana started crying while asleep and those cries turned into screams. “Johana, get up, wake up. Joey. You're just dreaming.” Said Letty out loud. As Lett’s yells got louder to wake her sister up Johana opened her eyes. The white of her eyes were no longer white but red, her eyes seem to have veins, and her pupils dilated to a pitch-black color. Letty gasped. Then just then, Johana looked at her grind from ear to ear revealing a smile of rotten and cooked teeth. In a deep raspy voice. “I told you they were mine!” she heard her say. It was the man’s voice she had thought was a dream from last night. Letty let go of Johana, who fell back onto the bed. “Is anyone there? Hello! Can you hear me?” A voice shouted from outside. They were trying to open the door. Letty looked towards the door, as she got up to race to it, but Johana grabbed her wrist. The sunlight that came through the windows was no longer there, it had turned into darkness again. She began to feel as if fire came through her body. How on earth can a four-year-old be so strong. Johana was not letting go of Letty. Through all this noise the baby was still sleeping, how could that be? She asked herself. Letty heard the knocks again. She began to feel dizzy, struggling to breath.  Johana used her other arm and placed her hand around Letty’s neck. She was left levitaing by Johana, as Johana began approaching the crib, and lifted Amelia from it. She began to carry her. Amelia seemed peaceful as if nothing could wake her. The knocking continued, but Letty was frozen in the air, she couldn't talk or move. She was aware Johana was too strong, but thought “Maybe just maybe whoever was knocking could help me, could help us.” She thought. Johana turned to her, smiled and let her drop to the floor. Letty ran towards the door, but as she attempted to grab the doorknob, with her hand, it went right through it. She was confused. After a few attempts she opened the door. When she opened the door no one was there. She ran out, it was pure darkness, the only light there was, was the one from inside the house. She was in a forest, no houses, and no other humans around she was alone. Letty fell to the floor, in tears. “Help me, please, someone help me, help us.” She said in a low voice. She felt hopeless, in despair and confused. She heard branches, breaking and someone stepping in the woods coming towards her. “Oh dear, you can never get away.” Said the same voice she heard in the room. He got closer, stopped in front of her but Letty refused to look up at him. He stood over her, leaned forward, his face was right in front of her he grined showing his crooked, rotten teeth. He moved his arm towards her, lifted her chin up slowly so she could stare at him. She could see that he was wearing a black cowboy hat, and his clothes were black. He was also covered by a black trench coat that went almost to his feet. She looked down towards his hand, for a second it looked like a normal hand and then it turned into a hand with three claws that resembled daggers, each one about five inches long his hands had become a cassowary claw. He let her face go, walked behind her as she still was knelt on the floor. “Ahhhhhh!” scream Letty. He had dug his claws into the lower part of her clavicle in-front of her shoulder to get a good grip. “It’s best to always get a spot to grasp the bone, it assures you don’t run away like other times before!” He said and laughed. He then began to walk, as he was dragging her back to the house. “How many times do I have to tell you that none of you can leave? Well, you can’t leave. The rest are already dead.” He spoke.  Letty continued to sob and scream in pain as she kept being dragged on the ground back towards the house. When he reached the house, he still had a hold of Letty. Letty was back inside, and the door shut, where the knocking continued, “Is someone there? Hello? Can anyone hear me?” someone said from outside of the house.  She stared at Johana, who’s hands had turned into claws as well, just like the man who had her, and one of those penetrated through Amelia’s throat. Amelia hung in the air being held only by the claws attached to Johana.
