Handwritten honesty. Came one day. Years later. In the form of an admission of guilt, wrongdoing. A cry for help. Too late for some. Just in time for others. The words on the crisp, white paper meant that the past occurred. No denial of the facts could erase the possibility of a reconciliation.
The only way out was to run. No one was listening anyway. Was the letter of words on a page of paper an attempt to get to the “bottom” of it. Or an attempt to right the wrongs when no one else would listed to the hurt. To the silence of what was. And. The silence of what was forced upon in the moment of terror.
Were the words on a page, at the very least, a hope to open up the communication of doors long past shut tight. Doors shut. Doors open. Doors slammed. Isn’t really the question here.
The majority of the questions of the stench and haste was,
Why?
As children we sing a song of praise. In the moment not really sure what the song is reciting. Then as time goes by and we grow and mature. We learned it was because He told us so. Throughout the many stories and words written long, long ago. “The Bible tells me so.” The whys of the human condition portrayed in various ways and language for thousands of years. The different trials and tribulations of why humans do what they do and then try to forget. Fudge the story. Hedge the bets. Force on another the unforced error of vulnerability.
There are many books within the great book. They reveal the human condition of story after story after story. After story after story after story after story….
You get the drift.
Books come. Books go. The great book stands the test of time. So, when the letter arrived it was both welcome and unwelcome. What was its purpose? The statute of both time and limitations renders us unable to remember the minutiae of the terrible. We hope it didn’t occur. So. We pretend it did not.
The rub? It did. What one person can do to another is both human and inhumane. The soul guides us with His voice in our minds. Do we always listen?
Nope.
Practicing the works and words of the lessons in the Bible is not for the weak. Why? The Bible call us out. In more ways that one. The words, His words call us out of our head. The intent calls us out of our own regret. It calls us out for re-constructing the truth of the matter to for our better “needs” and “wants”. We think, I deserve that and that, not this and that.
He shows us his strength in the youth of tomorrow. The youth of today.
Why?
Because their questions are vast and many. When we choose to lie to them, we choose to lie.To their future.
The excuses, reason explanations are blowin’ in the wind along with life’s great answers of truth. Of consequences that never arrived because the truth was being squashed like a bug. We wonder how he or she “got away with it”. The Bible neither confirms or denies why this may occur. What it does do, is provide a foundation of truth in the worst of circumstance and the circumstances that show us the way. Jesus gave his life for us. All he asked was we walk with our tire to Him through him. Guide us with kindness when we are not so kind to one another.
We return to our old ways. He is there to pick us up. Point us in the right directions. Walk alongside us. Get it right among the temptations to be less than truthful, less than holy toward our fellow man. For some, the disease of the meanness is far too great to battle alone. To others it is used as their tool, to get from here to there. He provides us with the foundation through the many letters in the Bible to figure out where truth and lies lie within the words and the works of life filled art told.
We return back to the great book to discuss with like-minded people, many pure believers and ask the question of
Why?
Why do bad things happen to good people? Do bad things only happen to bad people? It is a safe bet, every human on earth has lied once in their life and while this does not make it “right”…. It does prove the human condition can not compete with Him.
He has the confidence of the true saint he has grown to be. He share his story in the Bible many times over. He reaches out through the great book and letters held inside to keepreminding us to come back to Him in and on strong footing.
Do not tire to walk.(pf)
Why?
The kids are watching.
The kids are waiting patiently to keep and sustain the truth. To carry on the world in the betterment of most and not just a few.
Tough stuff. Tough act to follow.
Yes. It is. That is why.
Why it is worth every tear shed, every mile walked, every blood over body moment of fear obtained. Walking without tiring in His good graces and your energy level never wavers, never wanes.
The letter of admittance of years past? May be an attempt at bridge building. Or may be simply opportunistic. It is safe to say, watch out for the silence. Silence can be the guilt upon which the dread occurs. To keep it occurring, to keep the mess and deceit going.
The force of another into an unforced error? Mind control is a thing. Today. We are surrounded by its saturation 24/7. Darn hard to look away even if we wanted to. We wish we had His confidence to keep walking forward. But we are too distracted, too busy looking at all the tumult in the world and some strange talking heads trying to explain it all away.
We are so confused we do not know which end is up. Or down. We would like to not believe the story, the lies. But we cannot help ourselves, Gossip is too enticing a story. A picture. Words on a page. Vulnerability on the screens and on display makes us feel stronger. When we are really weak to ask for help in understanding one another.
Is it ever really too late to forgive and forget?
No.
It is never too late.
Why?
The Bible tells me so.🙂
