She stood before the door regretting her decisions on which to open. After what she had just seen she wished she could go back to before she even grabbed the door handle. You might be wondering what exactly she saw that was so awful she wished to go back. Well to figure that out we have to go back one day before.
There was the girl standing in front of the two doors making a decision on which door to go through. One would lead to her biggest dreams and the other to her biggest nightmare. Only one problem, she had absolutely no clue which was which. Both of the doors looked the same. A dark brown color with a little bit of the paint chipping from the edges. The brassy door knobs on each both sitting with a little bit of dust on them. They were exactly the same which did not help her narrow down her decision. After lots and lots of thought she went through the door on the right.
She grabbed the door knob and slowly twisted it until the door started to move. The girl hesitantly proceeded in weary of her steps. She was worried about which door she chose, from what she could see at the time she still had no clue. On the other side of the door was a field full of flowers of every kind. It looked as though it was a peaceful place with no trouble at all until she took a step forward. She fell down a deep hole and started screaming at the top of her lungs scared of what she would hit at the bottom. At the bottom laid a pile of cushioning and padding waiting to catch her fall.
Once she recovered from her shock and stood up she looked around only to see a dimly lit hallway. It was nearly impossible to see anything except a couple feet in front of her. The floor was covered in stains of who knows what. It looked like blood but she was praying her hardest that it wasn't. After hours of aimlessly walking in circles around these hallways she realized that she was stuck in a maze. As she had finally sat down and given up she heard a voice. She stood up and yelled hello in hopes maybe someone could help her. She heard the voice again. It was coming from intercoms throughout the hallways.
The voice began to talk to her in a raspy voice as though they were losing it and were struggling to speak. They began to explain to her that there was only one way out and it would not be easy to find. She has one day to find it and each hour she is unsuccessful some form of punishment will be released in the maze. The man yelled and said she had one hour before the first punishment.
The girl began sprinting because she was afraid of what the future holds if she doesn't find this door. As her adrenaline wore off she got more tired and tired and before she knew it an hour had passed. The man lectured her and ridiculed her before sending a wolf into the maze. The girl was terrified, she did not want to end up encountering the wolf. She continued walking through the maze with caution trying not to make any noise, but as she turned the corner she saw an unwanted visitor.
A wolf was around the corner with anger in its eyes and growling through its teeth. SHe screamed and instantly ran as she feared for her life at this very moment. She saw a brick laying on the ground and quickly picked it up. As she turned around the wolf was right there and she threw the brick as hard as she could. She had nailed the wolf right in the head luckily and he had fallen to the ground dead. Her heart was pounding; she could not believe what had just happened. She could feel her blood rushing and could not calm down. Her head was pounding and she had so many thoughts about how if she had just simply chosen the other door this would not have happened. If she had picked the other door she may be on vacation somewhere nice or at least not getting killed.
Just like that another hour had passed without her finding the exit. This time the halls slowly started to fill up with water. It got to the point where she had to swim up and she could barely get her mouth above the water. Her body got so tired from swimming and running, she could barely stay afloat. She wanted to live though, she wanted to get back home to her family. As she was about to be fully worn out and give up the water started to drain.
She went through this brutality for a few more hours. She had no energy left and was about to give up when the voice had come back. He had stated that he would let her sleep for a few hours without sending anything out. He said it was no fun watching her do this if she wasn't going to try anymore. The girl immediately fell to the ground because of exhaustion, within a few seconds she was asleep.
She had woken up and he stated she had six more hours to find the exit. Even though she was well rested those six hours were still brutal. The punishments only got worse and worse. She was on her last hour and swarms of bees had been flying around. She gave up and sat on the ground and started to cry when all the bees came over and stung her. She started to scream in pain and eventually passed out. She couldn't take it anymore. Everything went black and next thing she knew she had woken up right in front of the doors again.
Every injury had been gone, everything she had just gone through appeared to be all a dream and gone but it was all still in her head. Every moment, every scream, every hour, every struggle all still in her head. There she was standing before the doors just completely broken, if only she had chosen the other it would have been happier times. She slowly slid down onto her knees and broke down crying. She could not handle these events and just laid on the floor for hours before even trying to go home.
