Listen up younger ones.

Experience is the best teacher.

Really.

Why?

The older you are, the better it works.

Believe it or not.

A wiser than me, happen- to-be-older person once told me to:

Believe in something. So.

I listened.

And never choked again. The trick is is knowing how to get there without choking, tripping and falling on our faces. Which is really a polite way of saying:

Indifference + Irrelevance equals a dangerous combination.

As you mature, it will benefit your maturation to NOT live in the moment. Counterintuitive, I know. Advice worth chewing on. (Sorry) Not choking on and in knowing that with anything, it is never simple, easy or straight forward.

So. You gotta believe in something. And surround yourself with like-minded folks. Otherwise, the land of Chokedom is your permanent place of residence. It hurts. A wise person shared today that as persons, we are required, need to reach out and “touch the misery” of another person.

How do you know how to?

Look into their eyes.

It took me awhile to figure that tiny beaut of wisdom out in the least resistive way. Because. Did not want to choke. When choking, we can’t breathe. And when you cannot breathe it makes your heart work harder. Which depending on the circumstances, is or is not always a good thing.

Which way do you go?

The whispers in the back of my mind went back to”Believe in something.” So. I did.

Myself. And God. Believe in something. Because your life depends on you. No one other than you. To think another human will get you “out of it” is kidding yourself. Can’t kid a kidder. As we have previously interacted, conversed and oftentimes surmised, deceit practiced and learned only proves to prolong the misery. Yuck. Worst of all results in and makes strange bed fellows with fellows you do not want to bed.

Last, I heard, in my mind that constantly whispers to me, to believe in something greater than me: People are not to be chewed up and spit out like, well. Popcorn? HBU? How ‘bout you? What do you think. If you use them as the spring board to your next “thing”. You will have to live with yourself. And can you? Do you want to? Most of all.

Will you be able to? Live with yourself. After you journeyed the way you journeyed?

That was a mouthful, I know. Reminder:

Experience is the best teacher. Really. Been down the rabbit hole a few times myself. Never ran head first into a tree, thankfully. Came close a few times. What helped me may not help you. And no I do not mean a shot of “whatever.” With the help of the happen-to-be-older person AND for me, the Grace of God. I figured out early to best trust….

Me, Myself, I.

Counterintuitive. I know

Did you ever stop to consider that BFF means something completely different? As in “BFF equals “Buy For Free” .Boy oh boy are we there. So I implore you while still young.

Do not sell or give your life away for “Free”.

As BFF’s stand for “Buy For Free”. Remember nothing is ever free. The quicker the sooner you learn that, the better.

Trust Me, Myself and I. Because even though I don’t “like” it, I share it with you. To spare you, well, the misery. Of running head light first into a tree. And hurting yourself.

And. I got a few years on you. Been. Around the block. SAFELY. And I am here able to tell you about it. Only by the Grace of God. None of us are invincible. So. I throw it back to you. The worst thing you can do is:

Smirk when someone else falls. Because I think we are there. And it ain’t pretty. Bobbing for apples we can never get our mouths around. (Which may be/is a good thing if you think about it.) But does not always seem like it—-in the moment.

Be a good example. Not a bad excuse. You will love the outcome, learn a lot, and be able to be there for another. In person. In your best person. For that person.

Look at their eyes before you are looking at them down the barrel of another pipe that can mortally “take them out.” Hurt people hurt people. Healed people heal people. Put a better, more authentic weapon into YOUR hand. Reach out to grab their hand before they fall flat on their faces, choke on their own vomit. AVOID at all costs:

The festival of Flushapalooza.

Stay home. And you will be able to live a life of truly compassionate service to, for and of others in the best possible ways. It only takes a spark to get a fire going. Pass it on. Pay it forward with a compassion that lets your actions do the talking—and no— God forbid it, looking down the barrel of a pipe.

Dizzying. Probably. Double duty. Definitely. But while you are graced to be present on this God’s green earth consider it a must as well to make the most and best of the lives around you. Surround yourself with like-minded folks. Check yourself before you wreck yourself.

Perhaps, your self trust will cause you to have an “out of body” experience. Good for you. The best kind of all. Good for you. Good for me. Good for all folks and fellows, too.

It only takes a spark to get a fire going, and soon all those around will warm up in its glowing. That’s how it is with Gods’s love, once you experience it, you spread His love to every one and you WANT to

Pass it On.

Keeps the whole joint in check. Too.

So. The next time you feel that twitch of needing to belong. Reminder. You do belong. To the human race. And as a member of the human race. Never smirk. Believe in something. Believe in Humanity. And believe you are precious in God’s eyes and every human too. When you do trust and believe in you. Deep breath. Clear the pipes, and perhaps consider personal bravery rather than shallow hope and change. Engage in service of the double duty of compassion and grace. And then,

Pass it on. Let your actions speak for what your head and heart feel.
