Suspense Teens & Young Adult

I wake up, chained to a bed, in a strange room I do not recognize, the light in the center of the room dim. When my eyes adjust, I realize this room is like a prison room, but the front is a solid cement wall, with a door with probably a hundred heavy locks on the front, made of solid steel. I test the restraints, solid, no getting out of here. I spot the teddy bear sitting in the corner of the room. I scream, trying to get out of my bed, to grab it and protect it from where it sits, and I try to kick at the bed, but my feet are bound too. A strange man comes in, beside my bed and slaps me across the face, before placing a cloth over my face, causing the world to fade black.

I wake up again, my restraints are gone, the teddy bear still in the corner, needle stuck in my arm. I rip them out and run to the teddy bear, picking it up before testing the door. Its... unlocked? I step out, expecting some sort of guard to throw me back into the room, but the halls are empty. I am in an asylum. I was at home, the last time I was awake for more than two minutes, I was with my parents fighting with them, they thought I had gone insane over the teddy bear. I couldn't be insane, could I?

Walking through the Asylum, everything is empty, when I come to a set of double doors. I push open and am greeted with sunlight. I am outside. I run downs the small path and spot a little girl, looking at me, with a creepy grin on her face, her eyes make her look dead inside. "Gimmie the teddy!" She cries, stretching out her hands. "No! This will end your life horribly if you have it!" "Gimme!" She starts crying. I run past her, and her arms stretch out to grab the teddy brushing against it, and she starts to scream in pain. "I told you don't touch it!" She looks at me, tears running down her face, before dropping to the ground. Her face blank. Dead. Yet another victim of this stupid bear. I keep running until I come to a fence, a tall one. I throw the teddy over once I can tell there's no one who will see me, and i start to climb the fence, I land hard, but nothing that will to permanent damage, and I limp towards the forest.

I come across a cottage, looking to be abandoned I step in and see 3 men, mixing potions, a person strapped to the table, one covering the persons clothes with some mixture, another feeding her some liquid. They freeze when they see me. I back out but the third one grabs me and drags me to a room, where they try to take the bear, but one clutches in pain before dying as well. "Look," one says, "you are supposed to be in that building, you have gone insane, killing people with that bear, now if you'll set that down, we can help you "NO! Your testing on that girl! You and your workers have gone insane!" I throw my teddy bear at one, and they drop dead instantly, the other, stupidly picks it up, before screaming in pain and dying right in front of my eyes. I unstrap the girl, who is in a state of shock, and we run to the window and jump out, running as fast as we can to get away.

Two days later I come across civilization, but by myself, the experiments on the girl had lasting effects, I lost her on the way, her name was Alyssa, she had been born into a somewhat normal household, and older sister and one younger brother, but one day, she got into a fight with her parents, just like I had, and she went to bed, but woke up in a strange Asylum, and was bound to a bed, her childhood pet dog, Marty, watching her from the corner, which was impossible, Marty had always been very loud, and had died years before. She woke up in an almost identical situation. But when she tried to get out the second time she woke up, there were guards everywhere, and they took her to that little cottage, where the tree scientists began experimenting on her. When I come up to the town there's a sign 'Welcome to Governed Crest! Where the government is fair and keeps you safe!' Yeah right. I run to the nearest house, and bang on the door, and someone opens it. "Help me please," I ask breathlessly. An alarm goes off. "Asylum escapee, lock your doors and stay in your government safe room." It says, and then blaring a loud ringing noise. "Asylum escapee, lock your doors and stay in your government safe room." I run to an old house with an old lady sitting out on her front porch. I explain the situation, and she welcomes me in. That's... strange but I follow her in anyway. I tell her about the people locking in the asylum, and how I doubt they are insane, I'm not at least, and how they perform testing on some. She listens closely, before handing me a cup of tea and showing me a room. When I wake up the next morning, people are back to doing their daily activities, they must've thought they caught me. The old woman, who's name I learned is Rose, is making us some eggs for breakfast. "Eat up! We have a guest coming over, a friend of mine with a girl just like you! From the asylum, and has been plotting against the government with me and her, so you can join in, I know you know that this place is corrupt." She says handing me a plate.

What Roses friends get here, Mary, and Shay, the girl who also escaped, we all form plans, and work until nightfall, when Mary and Shay go home, we've got a long road ahead of us, but we have to make this work. The next morning, we repeat the process, but Shay goes into my room and I run after her. "Don't touch the teddy!" "Why not it's so cute!" "Because it kills." I shout and she comes trampling down the stairs. "Kills?" I nod. "Why didn't you mention it, this will help with our plans, but you can touch it?" "Yes, I'm the only one who it hasn't killed." "Well lets go talk to Mary and Rose about this, that teddy bear, could be the key to us taking over, so we head down to the kitchen and start scheming all over again.
