You have arrived!
At last!
Hurray.
Saving a seat at the lunch table.
For the BFF’s in your life.
One of the right of passages of life-dom.
Seated with your homies stuffing down the tater tots.
Life is good.
Almost complete even.
Oops, except there are some problems.
Suddenly realizing there are too many friends “in tow”.
Causes an uncomfortable indigestion of sorts and the tots begin to taste like paper.
Someone must get bumped.
A life being the center of attention is starting to weaken your resolve.
Especially if we have become our own worst enemy.😡
Anger has a way of angsting us into attack, into attack mode.
There are advantages to going it alone. Into the room, into the lab room, before the explosion occurs.🤢
Please understand me.
It wasn’t just a lark.
Chief John Yellow Lark sought wisdom. It wasn’t just by chance. The Chief sought long and hard for wisdom and understanding:
”Oh Great Spirit whose voice I hear in the winds and whose breath gives life to all the world, hear me.
I come before you, one of your many children.
I am weak and small. I need your strength and wisdom.
Let me walk in beauty and make my eyes ever behold the red and purple sunset; my ears sharp so I may hear your voice. Make me wise, so I may learn the things you have taught my people, the lessons you have hidden under every rock and leaf. I seek strength, not to be superior to my brothers, but to be able to fight my greatest enemy—myself.
Make me every ready to come to you with clean hands and straight eyes, so whenever life fades, like the fading sunset, my spirit will come to you without shame.😣.
Yep.
Three little words.
A monument of meanings.
I am sorry.
Okay. Now what?
Get to work.
Ugh.
Whatever do you mean.
You just told me He will take care of it.
Ugh.
No. Not that way
Nada Te Turbe:
Let nothing disturb you.
Let nothing affront you.
All things are passing.
God alone never changes.
Repeat:
God alone never changes.
Patience gains all things.
Repeat:
Patience gains all things.
He who has God wants nothing.
God alone suffices.
So access or no access, the key you hold within your heart is merely turning you against your own heart.
Stop. Drop. And. Roll.
Again.
Under the smoke from the fire all around.
Wartime tactics and lesson Soldiers and Warriors:
Stop. Drop to knee. Pray.
”Dearest Lord, teach me to be generous;
Teach me to serve You as You deserve;
To give, and not to count the cost;
To fight, and not heed the wounds;
To toil, and not ask for rest;
To labor, and not to ask for reward,
save that of knowing I am doing Your Will.
The Soldier’s Prayer St. Ignatius.
Values have a funny way of popping up in the most obscure arenas.
In a personality.
In a temperament.
Add a dash of life’s challenges and the word lunatic comes quickly to my mind.
Please. Don’t shoot the messenger.
Please be patient.
Please be kind.
Once your message makes it past my “clutter”.
Symmetrically
Asymmetrically.
The pounding headache begins.
I know what I saw.
Wish I hadn’t seen it.
Living with the consequences.
Trying to make sense of it all.
A lesson in human behavior.
Rows and rows of beautifully lined flowers.
Rows and rows of distressed and dried up crops turned dust.
Agony and Ecstacy?
Values.
Have a way of eeking out of our wounds and sores.
While we religiously attempt to band aid them back inside. Of us. Ultimately others.
They came to a place named Gethsemane, and he said to his disciples,” Sit here while I pray. He took with him Peter, James and John, and began to be troubled and distressed. Then he said to them, “My soul is sorrowful even to death. Remain here and keep watch.” He advanced a little and fell to the ground and prayed that if it were possible the hour might pass by him; he said “Abba, Father, all things are possible to you. Take this cup away from me, but not what I will but what you will. Mark 14: 32-36
Hit the snooze button.
Wish I hadn’t
Good news.
He stays awake.
Suffering for us.
In the midst of all the wokeness.
We need to remain on our guard against sin. There is no difference if we have the access to the “goods”, the “dues”, the whatever.
Or not.
There are no short cuts.
Carry the weight.
Cut the cost.
Anticipation is not all it is cracked up to be.
Predictions can have a way of testing our value system.
We thought this, but then this occurred.
We think we know.
We err on the side of positivity thinking it will lessen the disappointment.
Lowering the bar.
Lowering the bar and pretty soon we can barely crawl under it or out of it any more.
Side tracked, side swiped and side ways glances require of us very strong peripheral vision talents. Always implored and required to know what is going on in the back of our heads, in the front of our heads and the empty space between the ears🥹
Maturation.
Immature.
Regression.
Reversion.
We forget how to survive.
We revert to survival mode.
To the old habits of survival.
Create a bug.
Release a bug.
Wreak havoc.
Pass on the costs.
Take a nap.
Repeat.
According to Edmund Husserl anticipation is an essential feature of human action.
Great, just great. I though I was hiding my real intentions. Turns out I was wearing them all over my face. All day. Every day.
So much for the poker face.
Experience and consciousness, a style of thought🧐🤔
Quick thinkers.
Slow thinkers.
Off the cuff thinkers.
Judgments.
Perceptions.
Emotions.
Epoch!.
Not really.
Really.
Add an e and the story changes considerably.
As in.
Epoche!.
A suspension of our judgment.
A withholding of assent.
A stalling of the masses one could say.
Create a bug.
Release a bug.
Wreak havoc.
Pass on the costs.
Take a nap.
Repeat?
Well. We are still where we are after we were where we were.
Again.
