Do I Have a Gift?

I have been told since I was a very young age that I have the gift….but do I really? Is this the person that I really am or is it all a coincidence?

My mom told me that as a little girl I used to cry at night for her to come make the people in my room leave. One in particular that I remember is a lady in a green velvet dress with a huge green hat on her head and Peacock feathers sticking out. For some reason she had one of those metal tea cups in her hand, you know the kind you see in western movies that cowboys drink out of by the campfire.

One of my mom’s best friends told her that I have the ability to see and talk to the dead and that I have precognitive dreams so to make sure she listened to any warnings that I may give. And she was right. There are things that have happened to me that I cannot explain, but one of the things that stick out the most are my dreams, it seems they may approve to come true at times.

I have had several dreams over the years that have told of things to come, the problem is these dreams never happen exactly the way they will in real life. They are more like association dreams, I will associate items, jobs, hobbies... with people, and I have to figure out what the dream really means. This is not always easy to do as you can imagine. But somehow I always know what dreams I need to remember, they come in more clear and intense than regular dreams.

One dream that I had was that the entire population of the world was in a cruise ship in the sky, just floating on the clouds. I was looking over the side of the ship and below I could see my sister driving around on the deserted streets in a green minivan that she used to own. I remember screaming at her that she was in danger and needed to come up and be with us, but no matter how loud I screamed or how much I cried I couldn’t get her to listen to me. The next day she called me all upset because she had gotten in a car accident in her green van.

Another dream I had was about my Grandfather, I dreamed he took me fishing and that as we were floating down the stream we both turned into fish and began swimming alongside the boat. That is all I really remember of the dream, but the next day when I was telling my dad about my dream he paused and looked at me strange. Of course I was like “What? What happened?” he shook his head and said it was nothing really, just that my Grandfather had called his that very morning and told him he bought a new boat and would like to talk me fishing.

But…there is one particular dream that stands out to me. I was working in Arkansas on a construction site as the office manager. There was a guy that worked there named Chris. Chris was a crane operator on our job and that is all I really knew about him. One night, out of nowhere I had a dream about Chris. In my dream he was operating the crane like he does every day, because that is how I know him, but something began to happen. The crane, on uneven ground because to lean to the left. I saw this as it was happening and began screaming at Chris for him to jump but he could not hear me. Then finally when he noticed what was going on, he jumped, but it was too late. The crane landed on his right leg and crushed it.

Now I know this is a dream I need to remember, I know that I need to send a warning to Chris. So, I walked into the trailer at work the next day and told the supervisors the story of my dream. I told them I know I sound crazy, but just tell Chris to be careful today. I don’t know what is going to happen, but something is going to happen. Of course being on a construction site I knew I was going to get picked on because of this but I didn’t care I felt like warning Chris was more important.

The day passed without any drama and Chris’ supervisor brought him to the trailer at the end of the day to show me that nothing had happened to him. I let out a deep sigh, I was relieved. I know they were still laughing at me, but I am a tough girl I can handle that. I left work that day thinking that I was glad Chris was ok and maybe I was wrong about my dream, thank God.

That night I had a peaceful sleep, no bad dreams and I thought it was done. I was wrong…….The next morning when I walked into the trailer all of the supervisors were there again but this time they all fell silent when I walked in and looked at me like I was some sort of crazy person. Immediately I knew, and I asked, “What happened to Chris?” Chris’ supervisor stepped toward me and told me that Chris was at home last night cleaning his rifle and didn’t realize it was loaded. He put the barrel of the gun on his right thigh in order to get leverage to wipe it down. The gun went off and the bone in Chris’ right leg was shattered. I knew it! I did everything I could to try to prevent something from happening to Chris. I am not sure if his supervisor warned him or not. I do know this though…next time I warn those guys about a dream that I have……..they will listen!

I have had several warning dreams since this event, but nothing nearly as disturbing as this one was to me.

I will continue to heed my dreams and warn people when I can, and I don’t give a shit what people think about me. Whether I am a person with a gift or not!
