Aced out.
Based out.
Maced out.
Blessed is the man holding the four aces. 🔥 Good ole’ Mark Twain does it again. Philosophically astute and willing to speak the quiet parts out loud.
Twain furthers:”I admire the serene assurance of those who have religious faith. It is wonderful to observe the calm confidence of a Christian with four aces.
Knowing the game. How to play the game. The art of the deal. Gambling has never been a thing for me. Not that I don’t appreciate the pomp and circumstance and the pure tenacity of those who belly up to the table and take their chances, ride their chances.
Kudos, I say.
”Courage is doing what you are afraid to do. There can be no courage unless you are scared. Eddie Rickenbacker
Similar to public speaking, it takes courage to speak out loud the quiet words no one else wants to say. Takes even more courage to put pen to paper (archaic and “say what” of/ to the youth of nowadays!)
Pen=🖊️
Paper=📄
😄
Some of the greatest presenters of our life news information knew when they were not hitting the aces they needed to.
(of course, not including the boss of the tennis court Serena!)
”And after about two years, I realized that creative writing was not going to help you ace those biological tests. So I switched over to journalism. I didn’t graduate with honors, but I did graduate on time and with some doing.” Bob Schieffer
Graduate on time and with some doing. I know a couple of kids like that. They struggled and muddled through the toils and tasks that our great educational institutions offer. It was seldom ever easy, but well worth every unpleasant, miserable and studious moment(s).
”I may not be playing with a full deck but I don’t need a full deck. I have four aces.” Jonathan Winters.
Oftentimes. It can take a lifetime to know what we are “good at”
The plus. Knowing. The minus: Figuring it out authentically with something tangible to offer for others.
The key: The opportunity to play.
The key: The chance to prove the worth of your contribution.
They key: The way to learn that to talk the talk, you must walk the walk.
How?
Fight like he**.
Never look back, over your shoulder or dwell in the rear view mirror.
”To become an ace a fighter must have extraordinary eyesight, strength, and agility, a huntsman’s eye, coolness in a pinch, calculated recklessness😌, a full measure of courage and occasional luck!” Jimmy Doolittle.
Whoa.
Quiet part out loud.
Hone it.
Own it.
Leave the doubt outside.
Go for it.
We are all born with certain talents and abilities.

”I don’t believe there is such a thing as a ‘born’ soccer player.”
Guess who said that,
Pele.
Yes. Pele. He, too, said the quiet part out loud.
”Perhaps you are born with certain skills and talents, but quite frankly it seems impossible to me that one is actually born to be an ace soccer player.”
Kinda humbling.
Wouldn’t you say?
In the interest of news givers: The peeps that tell us other peeps what we need to know.
The camera can be a dicey place to be on the other side of…….In front of, behind of…
Say what?
”Some of my colleagues want to be The Anchorman on the Mount”
Who said this?
Linda Ellerbee
Ms. Ellerbee went on to experience: “Others see themselves as the Ace Reporter. Because of 60 minutes, there’s a whole herd of them determined to be The Grand Inquisitor and a heady number want only to be The Friendliest Anchor on the Block. At least one wants to be Jesus.😳
Reminder: Opinions. We all have them. They are often debatable. It is best practice to place your future in the hands of a person who can handle it. Handle you. Your wants. Your needs. Your hopes. Your aspirations.
Smith and Wesson or a Colt always beat four aces. (Proverbs)
Gambling lesson for you gamblers.
What is the point of all of this “Ace-Talking”?
It ain’t over until it’s over.
For any of us.
And. No matter how great we think we are😌.
Death is really the only final moment any of us head on outta “here”.
Best to play it straight. I realize I sound like I am gambling again. But I am not. The playing cards and roulette wheels spinning round make me doubt myself.
There is no such thing as a sure thing.
Sounds a bit depressing.
I get it.
It can be.
Today’s win.
Tomorrows loss.
Today’s smug.
Tomorrow’s fail.
Walking the balance beam of life takes skill and precision.
I will not attempt to talk you into the “God” mode. That is an entirely different so called beast to slay. The beast being yourself and it is only possible to get what He is saying if you stop and listen to what He is saying.
It is a path worth consideration.
Depending upon your destination.
The way you plan to get there.
The games you choose to play or not play.
Most important.
Whom you choose to play with.
Possibly the most important consideration.
Some of us have natural talents.
Some of us do not.
Some others. A hidden advantage kept in reserve until we need it.
Where will you hold or hide yours?
Again. I hear you thinking I am talking poker-speak again.
Disclaimer: Would not know a straight or full house were it to be staring at me in the face.
Too scared to play. Guess I lack the appropriate courage to put all my cards on the table.☺️
I prefer to keep my “stuff” close to the vest. Close to the vest, next to my heart. Where it belongs and I know it will remain safe and sound. Prefer to refer to the good parts when I need a shot in the arm. And toss or discard the bad parts holding me too tightly in their grip..
Go with your gut.
Trust the instincts He sends along with you.
He sends them to you everyday in both ways big and small.
And. When it is your turn in the line up.
Smash it out of the park!
Put your head down.
And say a little prayer, or shake a little fist pump, or give a quiet shout of “yes”.
That trust finally found its way to you.
And.
You in turn are learning to slowly trust in your life once more.
