A Phone Call from Heaven

“Hello?”

“Hello, will you accept a call from your mom?”

“Ah, sure.”

“Honey, I miss you so much.”

“Mom! Is it really you? How? You are…”

“Dead. Yes, I am. My earthly body is anyway. Here in heaven, I shall live forever.”

“Wait! You are calling from heaven?”

“Yes. I know you are worried about what you did, the decision you made. You needn’t. It was right.”

“You mean…”

“Turning off the machines. It was just my body there. I was already here.”

“Oh that, thank you. I thought… I wasn't sure…”

“I know. Being here, I see all God allows me too of what is going on inside you.”

“How is it? I mean, is it as utterly amazing as we always believed it would be?”

“And more. Pure peace and love. As much as I miss you, and I do, you and your brother, I could never leave here, would never want to. You understand?”

“Of course. I would never want you back here. Not that I don't miss you terribly. No, I could never take you away from His eternal Presence.”

“No, in time, you will join me.”

“Oh, to be there!”

“You have things to finish on earth first. The boys…”

“They are all grown. Oh, Ben is a father. You have a great-granddaughter.”

“How exciting you must have been to finally have a girl.”

“Oh yes, she is a blessing. As is her cousin.”

“A cousin?”

“Seth is a father too. Unexpected, as his girlfriend got pregnant at 17 with him barely 18. They had a son. Precious Elijah.”

“Elijah? Was he named after his brother?”

“No, she liked the name. Elijah, my Elijah. Have you seen him?”

“Yes. He is glorious. Came running up to me as soon as I entered. Yelling ‘grandma’.”

“He knew you? That makes me so happy!”

“As do your daughters.”

“My daughters?

“Jordan and Christina. The early losses.”

“I will see them, be known by them! How amazing that will be!”

“You have no idea how amazing it will be. It is hard to explain. The amazing peace. It is pure. Unlike anything we can ever feel on earth. Love is deeper than any human can feel for each other. The love you have for God on earth, as pure as it, as much as you seek Him, being forever in His Presence, is beyond what I can explain.”

“Forgive me, for I was more excited about seeing you again, my babies, than my Savior.”

“My darling, it's okay. You are still on earth. He is good enough to understand. Here, you can be with Him and those who arrived here before you, all at the same time.”

“His mercy is amazing!”

“That it is. Your father is here.”

“Wow, he is. She said he was, oh ah, I am talking with his widow. I pray you don't mind. She is a sweet Christian woman. She said he found God before he died. I am so happy she was right.”

“Yes she was. As for your relationship to her, don't be concerned about offending me. I am glad you have a mother figure in your life. My love for you is at its purest form here as well. There is no jealousy or anything else like that here.”

“So, you and dad are getting along?”

“Getting along, it isn't like earth where relationships, even the best ones, are steeped in sin. There is no hate or loathing, no negativity between us. The love we feel, the peace, it all comes from living forever in His Presence. Everyone lives in peace with each other, no matter what their relationship was on earth.”

“So murders and their victims?”

“Yes, if they find salvation on earth, they find peace and love here. The past doesn't matter here. The future is the present.”

“Time just doesn't exist?”

“That's it. Time was created for humanity. On earth, eternity couldn't be handled. You need eternity broken up.”

“We are living in eternity now, on earth?”

“You are. From the time a new soul is created, they are living in eternity. Either on earth, heaven, or hell.”

“That is why my babies are there.”

“That's right. All the babies. Either lost through natural or unnatural causes. I have seen mothers who, due to still living under sin’s curse, choose to send their children to heaven early. I've seen them reunited with their children. It is the most amazing thing.”

“I can't imagine how amazing that would be. I look so forward to holding my babies in my arms and I didn't kill them.”

“My love, you must not judge. Sin is so prevalent. We try on earth. We try to live according to His will. Even the best known and strongest Christian gives in. They haven't a choice. It is only here that you can live in complete freedom from that horrid curse.”

“That will be the best. I'm trying mom. I really am. Still I keep falling into the same sins. It is so frustrating.”

“I know. He knows, you see, he knows exactly what buttons to push. He fights hard because he knows his time is short. You know my Savior so he has no real power over you. These little skimages are all he can do. Remember that. Remember more what is coming. This. Forever in His Peace, His Presence, His Will. That devil only has power for such a small time compared to eternity.”

“That's going to help a lot. Keeping that in mind. All this, all of it. I am teaching them or trying to, my darling grandchildren, teaching them about God. About His love and grace. Now though, I am going to make it my main mission. Not just for them but for all. Everyone from my friends to the clerk at the grocery store. My neighbors, my family, everyone I can reach on social media. I knew this was important. But now I really know.”

“I am so glad to hear that. I must go. I love you,

my darling. I will see you soon.”

“I love you. Thank you. I don't know how you did this but thank you.”
