PROTECTING YOU

“To tell you the truth, from the start I hated you. I’d never loved you” a lied that I told her way back then just to protect her from more dangerous situation. I taught it was the right choice but then I learned that it was me who was betrayed by her. I thought she cares for me but it turns out that it was all fake, it was all planned in order to lure me out from hiding. How come my sacrifice became worthless. I gave up everything just for you but then you dig my own grave.

I am being targeted by the dangerous organization called “black fox tail” because of what I learned that can dragged them into deepest despair. I moved every month just to hide from the hunters. Since then, my life became dangerous yet adventurous. I met different people and I experienced different treatment from the streets. It’s almost five months that no one is tailing me and that’s why I decided to go out without being extra careful. I decided to go in the nearest bar to drink. As I was enjoying my drink, someone slapped my back head. The alcohol that I was drinking spilled in my clothes and I got few scratches because of the broken glass. I am furious and that’s why I intentionally grabbed a wine beside me and broke it to become my weapon. I am ready to stabbed the person who slapped my head but then suddenly, I was surrounded by men in black. These men in black are those people who is hunting me. “You think you can hide from us? Bitch! You’ll die tonight” Aran said. He is one from the men in black. “Damn!” I whispered to myself and prepared to retreat. I was about to land a hit from the side when someone kicked me. I fought them but they are too many to handle, I think it’s true that tonight I’ll die. My eyes are giving up and I can’t breathe properly anymore. I think I’m losing my consciousness but then the men in black is being pushed away by a one person.

My whole-body hurts and my wounds are aching. I am thirsty but I can’t move my body at all. I forced myself to stand up but I fell down. I’ m enduring the pain but then someone rushed over to help me to sit in the bed. “Damn! You should’ve call me instead” an angelic voice covered the room. I was about to pushed her but then I was mesmerized by her beauty. I can’t believe that there is someone like a real goddess. I’m still staring at her face when I feel my cheeks stings. “Stop staring at me, you weak!” she said while glaring at me. her slapped in my face stings but not too painful to handle. “Ahem! Who are you? And where am I? the last time I remember, I was being attacked in the bar” I said while caressing my cheeks. She sighed and sit comfortably beside me. “I saw you that night fighting alone that’s why I decided to butt in. I helped you because you’re helpless and my name is Aurora” how ‘bout you, your name?”  she said gently. I can’t help myself but to adore her. “Oh! Thank you for helping me out. I’m John by the way” I said while offering my hand for handshake. She accepted it and smiled. “Come on! I’ll lend my strength for you. Let’s eat in the kitchen” she said and offer her hand. I accepted it and we head towards the kitchen. It’s been so long since I ate home made foods. It’s all delicious. While eating we decided to tell story about ourselves. Since that day we become friends. she offered me to stay at her house and I accepted it because I am still in the process of healing. She gained my trust and I fell in love with her. I confessed to her and she cried while smiling. I thought I am being rejected but then she confessed to me too. From friends we become lovers. Since she’s my lover, I told her everything even the things about the organization I was hiding from.

Everything is peaceful but something telling me that there is something big will happen any moment. The organization won’t be silent and I know it. there is something wrong with this kind of situation. My head hurts from thinking too much but still I can’t be at peace. My guts telling me that I should put up my guard but tomorrow will be our first anniversary. I must prepare to surprise her so I shake off my thoughts. I am strolling around when I bumped to someone. I was about to apologize when she handed me a letter and ran away as far as he could. I stared at the letter and decided to read it. “You must stay away from her or else you’ll be in danger. The organization is preparing to hunt you down again but this time they will make sure to put you six feet under the ground and everyone around you will experienced this kind of despair too. They will not leave a trace. So, go far away this country. Go back to your homeland because no one will dare to enter there. You should be back there. They are waiting for your arrival. Please, take care”. After reading the letter, my mind started to wander around and I ran as fast as I could because my guts telling me to go back now and my heart is pounding too much. I am nervous and anxious. When I got back in the neighborhood, everything is messed and people are enduring the wound that they got. Damn! I was just not here a while ago but why did everything turns into this kind of chaos. I immediately run towards our house but I bumped into someone again and it was Aurora. I hug her tight. “Where did you go? I thought they dragged you again” she whispered in my ear. “I thought, you’re hurt that’s why I rushed back to find you but thank god. You’re alright” I whispered back and tighten the hug.

One week passed, and I am still in the process of thinking of some ways to solve this without harming anyone again. I can’t think of another way but break up with her. I love her so much but this is the only way to protect her. I’ll break up with her even it hurts. I pack up my things and ready myself to go away. I grabbed my bags and went out in the room and face her. “Aurora, I’m tired of this kind of relationship. you’re too good for me. Let’s end this relationship” I said with a stern face but then she looked at me in the eye with tears. “what’s wrong, honey? Let’s fix this” she pleaded but I looked away. “Look, Aurora! I only played you. I confessed before because I have no place to go. To tell you the truth, from the start I hated you. I’d never loved you” I said and pushed to the side and walked away. My hearts hurts so much but what can I do? This is the only way I think to protect her. When I arrived at the train station, I am being surrounded again by men in black and this time, they all have their weapons. No one tried to interrupt. I have no choice but to fight back this time seriously. Since, they shoved away everyone who is not involved in this matter, I’ll use weapon too. I shot the nearest to me and run to hide. The firing started to cover the whole train station. The exchanges of gun shots last longer until I have no more bullets. The only weapon that I have now is these two knives. Finally, half of them were down now but I got wounds and scratches also. I am about to jump and slice the throat of the leader of the men in black when a loud shot got me in my legs. I looked for the person who shot me and to my surprise, it’s Aurora. Why is aurora here? Just why? “Honey, you shouldn’t run away to me. I’m sad you know?” she said while smiling at me. “What the hell is this?!” I asked her furiously while glaring at her but she only laughed and approach me. she sat down and held my face. “I had fun being with you but sorry honey. Everything was planned to lure you out. now, give me the black note before I’ll kill you” she said firmly. “Fuck you!” I said and she slapped me and stand up and kicked me hard. She’s about to shot me when a loud gun shot alert everyone again. This time, we are surrounded with people who wears a masked and each of them have the same dragon tattoo in their neck. “Put down your weapons or else you’ll die” someone shouted. The men in black put their weapons down but Aurora didn’t. she’s about to shot me again, when someone shot her first exactly at her head. Some of her blood splatted at me. “Protect him, everyone who tries to harm him, end their life” their commander shouted. I was still in the process of thinking what’s going on when someone lift me up and apply first aid kit. “The boss told us to fetch you, young sir” he said. I stared at him and then I remember something. “It was you who gave me the letter” I snappishly said to him. “You’re right, young sir” he said while smiling.

           After that chaos, they accompany me to go back to my homeland and to my surprise the boss that they are talking is actually my father. My father told me everything what happened and he also mentioned that I lost my memories that is why I wander around with knowing myself. They tried everything to find me but someone is stopping and erasing my traces but luckily, they found my whereabouts when I learned about the “black fox tail” organization. This organization is the rival of our organization and because of that I told them about the black note and they exposed it to media and because of that, the black fox tail organization turns into chaos and they lose their authority and power in the whole streets and in the underworld. They become the laughing stocks from every corner of the world especially in the underworld and I become officially successor of the “red tail dragon” organization.
