There is a breakout at a prison where a criminal charged with murder and bank robbery known as Bad Dan escapes. But with the police hot on the trail he manages to break into a scientific lab where he is keeping his experimental time machine. The thing is it is a one-way trip and Dan isn't smart enough to use it right so it is simply set to 1000 years in the future when he stumbles upon it and he simply goes through the portal. Once he goes through he notices that everything seems so clean the world seems so futuristic and nice at first glance he feels that he could easily ditch the police this way.
He ended up stepping on that person's toe and didn't bother to apologize, once he bumped into someone he said “Watch where you're going you stupid head”, and even started to make fun of a fat man. But as Dan was planning what he could do in this time period several police officers came to him and said “You are under arrest.”
The man looked at them and said “You must be mistaken I didn't do anything that would be worthy of being arrested.”
“Oh really you committed no worst crime anyone can commit having a bad attitude. It's an even worse crime than littering.” They handcuffed him and placed him into the police car.
What Dan didn't realize about this time is that over the past thousand years crimes such as murder and bank robbery became much more rare with the police tracking down on them to the point where they became completely unheard of. Humanity then started to become more ethical and basic evils like that were completely gone in the same way as 1000 years before his time it was common to own slaves and other crimes. But with all this evil gone, people then began to see minor crimes like lying, blackmailing, littering, and having a bad attitude as some of the worst crimes imaginable equal to how they used to think murder was.
Until Dan's trial was to start he was to be placed in jail where he started to complain to everyone about why he shouldn't be here. At lunch, he cut in line to go to his meal and started to complain about how it didn't taste so good. All this time he kept saying that he did not have a bad attitude even though he was insulting everyone who looked at him badly. Soon everyone was saying that he had a bad attitude and that he belonged there even to the other prisoners. The other prisoners kept saying that he had a bad attitude and that he should be in prison.
Finally, the day of the trial arrived and Dan was put into court where the prosecutor constantly called everyone who was on the receiving end of his bad attitude. The man who he stepped on his toe said that this man didn't even bother to apologize and that it might not have even been an accident but he had no way of confirming or disproving whether it was intentional. They asked Dan if he was willing to apologize and he said no and that he still did nothing wrong. The prosecutor also called to the stand the man that Dan bumped into and called a stupid head. The man said that what he said and did to him ended up hurting his feelings and damaged his self-esteem in his intelligence no one had ever said he was stupid especially since he was a professor of quantum physics. The fact that some complete stranger with a bad attitude did that scared him. Dan still thought that this was nothing that bad and refused to believe that he had a bad attitude. There was also the man who he called fat testifying saying that while other people had called him out for being fat they were always very careful to use proper manners unless they were only children who didn't know better. Dan is definitely not a child and what he said ended up hurting his feelings. Dan still said that there was nothing wrong with calling someone else when they clearly were and that he did not have a bad attitude.
Just when he thought that this entire trial was over the prosecutor called all of the prisoners in jail as well as the cook from the cafeteria what they felt about Dan's behavior. They all said that he had an attitude so bad that it disgusted them to no end and that this man was a danger to all the people in the prison as his bad attitude was now scaring them. The jury then went to discuss the matter and in about 5 minutes they came back and saw that Dan was guilty of having a bad attitude. He said that he did not have a bad attitude and that he had committed crimes like murder and robbery but he does not have a bad attitude. Everyone thought that he was making that stuff up but they also felt that he was also crazy as well as having a bad attitude.
The judge then sentenced him to solitary reeducation to get rid of his bad attitude Dan still said at the top of his lungs that he did not have a bad attitude. He was then taken in a straitjacket and sent to a maximum security prison where he was contained in a room all alone constantly visited by extreme psychologists and forced to watch videos on good behavior. He didn't want to tell them that he was from the past but they couldn't get to the core of this psychological problem as he kept telling them that his attitude was fine. Eventually, everyone gave up on him and he was sentenced to the death penalty. As he was placed in the electric chair he said “I don't deserve this all of this just because of a bad attitude And I don't have a bad attitude.” As the switch was flipped and the man was killed everyone said that even his final words were the most evil that they had ever heard.
