Walking the balance beam of life🤸🏻‍♀️🤸🏼👨‍🦽🧑‍🦽🧑🏼‍🦯👩🏼‍🦯

If life were only that simple.

Sometimes life can feel counterintuitive.

Persons, places, things can feel quite paradoxical, confusing.

Enigmatic even.

Absurd.

Odd.

Mysterious.

Catch-22

Or they can sometimes feel perfectly:

Normal.

Standard.

Accurate.

Certain.

Truthful.

Understanding usual ness regularity.

Sometimes worry, fret and nervousness replace calm, order and peace.

Reparations or Recompense? For some high and mighty thinking individuals it takes over and becomes the sole focus. And then:

All hell breaks loose.

We shoulda, woulda, coulda.

In this world, their world, 1+1 seldom equals 1+1=2.

To many derivatives, variations and creative accounting involved.

If you like math, like to challenge yourself, why not try this on for size:

Spend a day hopping on one foot.

Huh?

You ask.

Exactly.

That is life for some individuals. The inability to simply walk forward.

Challenge: Hop on one foot.

Easier said than done, of course.

Imagine this. Imagine yourself required to spend one entire day hopping on one foot.

The real task may be missed.

Hint:

Step outside of yourself, your mind.

You may just see a person in front of you you never bothered to regard.

The real challenge, your challenge is to dig deep within yourself and see what it is like to NOT be you. To be different. To be “different”.

Goodness gracious.

We are all different.

When did it become ok to be “paid”, re-paid for it?

What “Einstein” thought that was a good idea?

(All due respect to Einstein for he bothered to ask the tough questions)

The “different”? That pretty much includes us all in the different group and sometimes we feel so insecure about our own shortcomings we fail to realize we were the ones who put ourselves into that “group”.

What to do?

Recompense?

Recompense: An obligation referred to within the law of unjustified enrichment. Unjustified enrichment can occur where a person has made a contribution of value that results in a loss to them and a benefit to another person, where the contribution was not intended to provide a benefit to the other person.

Walking the balance beam of life.

Hopping on one foot.

Recompense of the wicked?

Huh?

The death of the thousands mentioned in. (psalm 91:7) This may be counterintuitive, This may say more about yourself than you are willing to “admit”. Out loud. Or quietly. Makes no difference.

And yet. Can make all the difference in the world. In the life of another person.

For this thought process can knock you right off the balance beam of life.

You will look only with your eyes and see the recompense of the wicked.

You will look only with your eyes and see the retaliation against the wicked.

Just open your eyes and see how the wicked are punished.

That sounds dreadful. To watch another in pain.

Doesn’t it?

In practice, rejecting God’s goodness and wisdom generally leads to disaster. (Proverbs 1:7;9:11-12)

And all hell breaks loose.

Those who trust in the Lord will escape God’s judgment, but they will witness it. In an eternal perspective, this is true in the most literal sense. (revelation 20:11-15)

Revelation. Recompense. Reparation = Slice, Dice, Spin.

And you are served.

Words and stories twisted are words and stories twisted.

Falling off the balance beam of life and only hurting yourself because you may have wished harm on another.

Not good.

Not cool.

And it hurts.

A lot of persons.

Revenge is a fickle beast.

Stay away from its temptations.

Oh, by the way, how is your task of hopping on one foot going—oh, you gave up? What could you have learned?

See. Life is difficult.

Is seldom packed neatly, folded perfectly nor aligned meticulously.

For some this is their challenge of their day.

COMING TO TERMS WITH THE WAY WE WERE RAISED CAN BE THE MOST IMPORTANT WORK WE DO.

And it is work. To walk on the balance beam and remember we are not “owed” anything good or bad.

But the temptations of twisting stories into stories continues and the chance the devil is in the details exists. Is a real “thing”.

Those who love God, and honor Him, can count on His provision and protection, and know that nothing happens without His approval.(wk)

Provision. Protection. Approval.

Puts you back on the balance beam of life perfectly, wholly and ready to take on the challenge of learning about another person’s day, their tasks, their worries, their frets.

For the sole purpose of sharing their tasks, worries, frets.

When you may be tempted to give up, reconsider.

Perhaps it is time to think about hopping on that one foot again. Thinking seriously about the fact that that a person’s reality. Is their reality. And not yours. Digging deep inside to understand what they understand and understanding life can be quite difficult. Or different in their mind’s eyes.

Not being able to run away can be the worst punishment. Suffocatingly so.

May have come about by and as no one’s “fault”, misgiving, mid deed. It was the challenge God bestowed upon them in order for them to learn about their life. In the process, attempting to teach others about life. Their life. Your life. All lives.

Heck. We all like to “look good”. But when we don’t, are we able to “own” it or do we choose to pass it off to the “Reparations Committee” for their consideration and approval?

Personally. Would turn away running, screaming, skipping and tripping, falling on my face from the Reparations Committee.

As Christians. We are taught to “turn the other cheek”. It ouches sometimes. But to have His approval is no match for the so called approval of the “Reparations Committee” who continually feed you the notion that you are

“Less than”

and last I rememeber

1+1=2.

and that is more than.

You are more than what you think you can do. Because through God’s eyes you can always do more😃

How great is that!

How though?

Persons may find security, familiarity, confidence in logic.

Yes. 1+1=2.

However, can you:

”Step out of logic of self interest”? (Pf)

Take your paper, your pencil or your spreadsheet and put it down, walk away from it.

Easier said than done for some.

Because it involves a love without measure. (PF)

and how does one recompense, or reparation. For a love without measure.

Join spirit with Him and chances are good you will learn the best possible way, the best possible ways.

The beautiful opportunity to join forces with the One, the He, the Him who is praying for you to join in the spirit of goodness. To join the journey He is trying to teach us about daily.

How great is that?

He is right there with you when you fall off the beam, 😃, and constantly encourages you quietly, gently and carefully to get back on the beam. The beam of light too!

How great is that?

Really great.

To learn to care so much about another that you begin to really understand their cares, frets, worries.

Priceless.
