Suspense Thriller Crime

Liar Sammy. She was always Liar Sammy. No one believed anything she said. It was always like that since 5th grade. Her principal's son Jonathan was the first one who called her Liar Sammy. Sammy saw Jonathan stealing money from one of the classmates. She told the teacher who always thought Jonathan was the way to get into the principal's good book. Teacher asked a series of questions in front of the whole class which Sammy did not have answer to. At lunch time, Jonathan stood up on the table in the cafeteria and screamed calling her Liar Sammy. All the kids repeated after Jonathan. There were kids who went to Sunday school with her, soccer practice with her and even neighbors. They all started calling her Liar Sammy which made it so difficult that even her own mother started doubting her when she blames her brother for something he did.

Sammy always walked to school. She tried so hard to fit in, but

everyone always saw her as someone who lies all the time. She even stopped trying to impress anyone. She knew she was not a liar. That was all it mattered until she witnessed a crime.

Mrs. Sainpool lived by herself on the Face street, which is

really close to school. Sammy likes to go home by taking shortcut through Mrs. Sainpool's lawn. She even asked permission to go through the lawn. Unlike all the other kids, who just walks on the lawn, without asking permission, Mrs. Sainpool liked Sammy. She allowed Sammy to go through her lawn. When all the other kids walk on her lawn, Mrs. Sainpool just yells, and kids will throw

trash on her lawn. Every time, when Sammy goes through the lawn, she would pick up all the trash and throw it in the big trashcan near the patio.

It was a rainy day and she was walking back from School. Most of

the kids stayed at the school waiting for the rain to stop. Sammy had her rainbow umbrella with her; so, she started walking back home. As usual when she crossed Mrs. Sainpool's lawn, she saw the trash kids threw at the morning. She picked up all the trash and walked near the patio and she noticed some big footprints on the patio, like someone stepped on the mud or something. It is

almost fading away with the rain. Maybe Mrs. Sainpool has some visitor, she thought. Suddenly, she heard some loud noise from inside like someone fell. Oh, no. Mrs. Sainpo0l could have fell from the stairs. She did not think to knock or call for help. She ran to the patio, gladly the door was not locked. She walked through the kitchen and saw blood spots all over the kitchen floor. When

she heard someone walking to the kitchen, she hid behind the fridge. Sammy couldn't believe her eyes. It was their postman, Postman Karl, looking for something in the cabinets. He took a large trash bag and walked back to the living room. She closed her mouth to not make any sound. With tears flowing from her eyes, she thought she couldn't even see anything anymore. She walked

slowly to the living room through the dining hall. As soon as she saw the postman, she hid behind the wall. He was putting Mrs. Sainpool on a large trash bag. She seems not breathing. She walked slowly back to the kitchen and opened the patio door and ran. Postman heard some noise. He came out and saw the patio

door was open. He checked outside and saw Sammy running away.

Sammy ran fast as she can to find anybody. It seems like no one

is outside today. She ran to her house, frightened, opened the door and closed the door behind her. Mom came out and asked, "Sammy, you are all wet. Didn't you have your umbrella?" Sammy couldn't even think about where she lost her favorite rainbow umbrella. She was so scared. Mom noticed Sammy was not being herself. Sammy told mom what she saw, and mom couldn't believe it. Postman Karl is a nice guy. He always helps people out. Even though mom didn't

believe Sammy, because of her keep saying call the police, mom called and informed them. Few hours later, Chief Jeremy came by Sammy's house and talked to mom. Sammy stayed in her room, still being scared. Mom came to the room little bit later. She was so mad at Sammy thinking she was lying. The police couldn't find any blood spots as Sammy was describing or even Mrs. Sainpool. Neighbor Travis said that he saw Mrs. Sainpool left home to visit her relatives

and she was not going to be back home for couple of days. Police also checked on postman Karl, who was not working that day, being sick. Sammy tried to make chief and mom believe that she witnessed a murder, but they wouldn't believe her at all. Next day, she was frightened to walk to school. Her mom dropped her off at school. When she walked in, kids started teasing her saying she is a liar and a witness to an imaginary crime and all.

She was so broken by kids saying that; she never felt that sad. On that day, when she walked back to school, she took a different route to take home. Later, she felt that someone was following her. She looked back and saw the post truck following her. She ran as fast as she can. On her way, she saw her mom was at the garden watering plants. She ran to her gardens calling mom. Mom looked up

and saw Sammy running towards her. Mom also noticed a post truck behind her. Mom asked her what happened. She said, “You wouldn’t believe me even if I tell you the truth. Why try then?” When Sammy walked back to her house, mom felt suspicious, wondering if Sammy was right. One more day passed by. Sammy did not sleep at all. She also noticed the post truck following her and around the school all the time. She decided to take action herself. It was only her responsibility to prove that she was not lying. She decided to visit the neighbor who saw Mrs. Sainpool leaving to the relatives. She visited Mr. Travis, who is Mrs. Sainpool’s neighbor. She asked him if he saw her leaving and he said yes. She asked what time and he responded saying 4:00pm. Sammy was sure that couldn’t happen because she saw Mrs. Sainpool got murdered at 3:35pm. She asked Mr. Travis if he talked to her. He said that he talked to her in the morning and she mentioned

she was leaving to the relatives. She even told him to water her plants occasionally. When she left in the evening, he couldn’t talk to her. He just saw her car passing away. Sammy recorded her conversation with Mr. Travis. When she got back home,

she made a chart in her room with timeline and included all the information she knows. Being tired and not sleeping for few days, she slept on her chair. When her mom came to the room with the laundry, she noticed the board. She also saw the note saying the post truck following her. Mom got more suspicious. She decided

to find Mrs. Sainpool’s relatives. She called her friend Nancy, who is a home nurse, sometimes go to help Mrs. Sainpool. Nancy also mentioned Mrs. Sainpool telling her about visiting her relatives. Mom asked Nancy if she has their number. Nancy told her that she has it somewhere, she just needs to find it.

Later, when Sammy woke up, she started reviewing her chart again and remembered the mud she saw on the patio. Then she told herself that it might be washed away with the rain. Well, maybe I should check it out. She knew her mom wouldn’t agree to it. So, she waited until mom went to take the shower. When she got into Mrs. Sainpool’s house, she walked by the lawn and saw some mud footprint on the patio where the shade is. That was the only mud she could find; rest might have washed away from the rain. She took a picture of it with her camera. After she put the camera away, she looked through the glass door to the kitchen. Suddenly, someone closed her mouth and took her to the kitchen door. She cried out loud, but no voice came out. He threw her to the floor. It is postman Karl.

At the same time, while mom was in the shower, she got a call from Nancy with the number. Mom called the relatives right away. They said that Mrs. Sainpool was supposed to get there two days early, but still has not reached there. They also said that sometimes she does that. She would say she would come and then forget about it. They tried calling her, but she did not pick up also. Mom ran to Sammy’s room. When she couldn’t find her, she looked at the chart and saw her circled red region saying mud in the patio. Mom ran out of the house. She saw Sammy’s brother on the way. She told him to call the cops and tell them to reach Mrs. Sainpool’s house and Sammy was in trouble. Seeing mom running out, brother called the chief.

Postman Karl was chasing her inside Mrs. Sainpool’s house. Later he caught up to her and put a plastic bag on her face. At the same time, mom arrived there. She looked around and find Mrs. Sainpool’s walking stick. She took that and hit hardly on postman Karl’s head. He passed out instantly. By then, the chief arrived with couple cops and saw Sammy and mom in the kitchen. Sammy’s brother also got there with couple of his friends from school. As everyone watching, mom and Sammy came out with the chief. In front of all the neighbors and friends, Chief told Sammy that he is proud of her and he was so sorry that he did not believe her at first. Everyone also saw postman Karl was arrested and put into the car. He admitted that he got into a fight with Mrs. Sainpool and he pushed her accidentally. He moved her to the kitchen and was trying to make it look like an accident while she gains conscious and he had to kill her. Sammy’s brother ran to her and hugged her. Chief dropped them at their house and thanked again.

Next day, when she went to school, everyone clapped hands. Principal congratulated her through the microphone after the weather announcement. Since then, no one called her Liar Sammy. She was known as Brave Sammy.
