New School

I woke up this morning for the first week of school. I got dressed and checked my bag. My mom yelled “HANNAH” from downstairs. I yelled “YES” back and she told me to come down for breakfast. I hurried down and ate my scrambled eggs. I looked at my phone and realized there was only 10 minutes till the bus came. I quickly went upstairs to the bathroom, brushed my teeth and got my backpack and phone. I said goodbye to my mom and ran to the bus as soon as it came. Phew I almost didn’t make it. The school is about 25 minutes away so I read a book till we reached the school.

   I pulled out my schedule for the day hoping that I won't get lost. As I walked through the halls some people were glaring at me but I just ignored it assuming it was because I was new. I had to move to the city since my mom got a job offer. I checked my schedule to check what room English class was. After a bit more walking I found room 203. I came in a few moments before the bell. There was only one seat left which was in the back. The teacher Mrs. Clarke was calling attendance. I saw a group of kids laughing while looking at me. Gosh, why does the first day of school have to be this awful. I would say something but I don't want to be in trouble on the first day of school. 

   I saw a couple kids slant their eyes but I just tried to ignore it. They started saying things and I just got fed up and raised my voice and told them to stop. They got quiet and stopped. The class went by thankfully nothing happened. I went to my other classes. I was late for a few but the teachers didn’t seem to care. 

   I sat on the bus and a girl sat next to me. I said “hey” and she replied back with “hi”. We didn't talk the rest of the time. I went on my phone and texted my mom that I was almost home. I just read an ebook and the bus finally was at my stop.

 I came in and yelled “im home!”. I quickly got a bag of chips and went upstairs to my room. I watched a few episodes of my k-drama that I'm watching. I hate and love the first day of school since we don't have any homework. Soon it was dinner so I told my older brother to come eat dinner. I went downstairs to the dining table and set it up. We were having some pasta, yum! I used the air fryer and unfroze some garlic bread for the three of us. 

My mom asked me “How was school?” I groaned “uh it was fine”. My mom looked at me doing the tell the truth face, “okay, okay, uhm some people were saying racist things and I got a bit mad”. My brother said “what did you say back?” I replied with “STOP!”. My brother bursted out laughing. “Okay, okay, let's talk about your day” we ate and talked the rest of dinner. 

It was around 8:00PM so I watched a k-drama with my mom. Afterwards, I played some games and watched anime. I got a DM on instagram from a girl from school named Kayla! We texted for a bit and called, finally I have a friend. We are both east-asian so we planned on stopping those annoying people. Tomorrow seems like a better day. Goodnight! Yawn! I skip breakfast and go downstairs and go to the bus! Today will be much better than Yesterday! I meet up with Kayla as we talk about a new anime and a 3 people come up to us and say “You watch that too?”. We all go to our next classes and we meet up at lunch.
