Death at the Vanity Table.
Open to interpretation.
Human nature provides us a template of principles and tools to live with and by.(rg)
Today is a day of bewail that has been a dreaded thing long and coming.
Opposites attract.
Opposites attack.
The vituperation became quiet, loud, ever present and definitely not proud.
Sometimes. The intended original use of the matter becomes skewed beyond anybody’s recognition. Forgetting is not an option. Remembering rears its ugly head.(more on ugly later)
Constantly.
I confess.
The simmering residuals have prompted me, at times to burst forth, in a torrent of vituperation. 😳(pg) Over and about the matter. Never one to aspire to be the setter of the example.
Mostly.
Choosing to simply,
Live my life.
The pain is still ever present. The ankle biters constantly nipping at my heels. The seeds of doubt looking at me cross-eyed.
It becomes too much, sometimes.
What to do. What to do.
Soldier on.
Good Soldiers, Warriors and Stewards-in-training.
Shoulder on.
You have to be willing.
To put your money where your mouth is.🍩
No sense in hiding the truth.
It eventually comes out.
Like-minded people help along the way.
Like-minded people allow us to challenge the thinking that may get in the way of our thinking.😌
True or False:
1.For your tomorrow, I give my today.
2.I have one life to give to my country.
3.Divine providence includes: Lives. Fortunes. Sacred Honor.
4.Fathers sacrifice for us to be free.
5.The original intended use of a knife is to stab another in the back.
Like an open gaping wound, interpretation of anything can take on a life of its own.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Or not.
In the eye of the beholder.
True or False:
1.The first decade of life is most beautiful.
2.The second decade of life is most beautiful.
3.The third decade of life is most beautiful.
4.The fourth decade of life is most beautiful.
5.The fifth decade of life is most beautiful.
Life is over after fifty?……..🤨🫤☺️😄🔥
Please don’t shoot the messenger on this next point.
It has been said.
Men age better than women.
I never said life was fair.
Erasmus Darwin was an English doctor in the latter half of the 18th century.. He published a “disease” book in 1796. It was actually a catalogue of diseases divided into Classes, Orders, Genera, and Species😳 with details of each disease and his favorite treatment for it.
(Bag over head?) Attempt only at humor and levity.
Fasten your seat belts for one of the conditions listed in the catalogue.
Ready.
”Loss of beauty”.
Painfully felt by Ladies.
Some of the usual remedies, particularly cosmetics containing white lead.
Yikes.
White lead that destroyed the health of thousands.
Jeez. The price paid to,
”Look good”
Lead compounds were commonly used in cosmetics from ancient times.
Whoa.
And.
Wow.
To name just a few concoctions, the Egyptians used kohl which contained lead sulphide for exaggerated eye makeup. White lead was the basic ingredient of cerulean, a cosmetic used by Roman ladies to hide their blemishes and improve their skin color. in Elizabethan times, the ‘dead white look” favored by Queen Elizabeth I to hide her small pox scars was achieved by using a cream of white lead and vinegar.
Yikes.
Personally, I think it should have been called “War Paint”.
You see.
Although in these ancient times, the dresses were bigger, bulkier🥻👘. The beautiful ones, the beautiful people were sought after and attention was bestowed upon their “good fortunes”🤓.
Yikes.
Lead on the face.
Ouch.
The price of such beauty was:
Poisoning.
Symptoms of which included fatigue.
Headache.
Anaemia.
Weight Loss.
Muscle wasting.
Paralysis.
Eventual death.
Oh my goodness.
I say this with the utmost and due respect ladies.
No man is worth this paint fight.
The ultimate cat fight may result in death.
One such beautiful courtesan was Kitty Fisher. Famoue for being Famous. She was beautiful, witty, outrageously extravagant, a bitter enemy of the Countess-of-Coventry.(Kitty had an affair with Coventry’s husband.)
Kitty died. At the age of 26.
I hope it was worth it.
Advantage: Dog. Dog breath. Anything dog.
At least a dog’s talent is to detect cancer while smelling our breath. A dog is eager to earn his dog chow. Not steal or “take it” from another. Right from under their cosmetically enhanced noses anyway.
What’s the point?
In all of this.
In all of that.
I dunno.
What say you, about it?
I have a hunch. I learned it from like-minded individual who at the same time, challenged me and my mettle.
I thank them profusely. For allowing my participation in their thinking war rooms. Of their cause.
”Increased devotion to the cause to which they gave the last full measure of devotion.” Who does this action?”(rg)
Soldiers. Warriors. Stewards-in-training.
Aspiring to sharpens each other’s countenance. With tools in hand to quickly access. Lead-free, of course.
Not without vain?
Again.
I dunno.
Excessive pride in oneself, one’s appearance, is and has been a practice since ancient times. Why change now?
Well. maybe because vain can turn on a dime into vain. vain attempts to be vain result in no one’s gain. And definitely a lot of people’s pain.😅
Whoa.
Glad and happy to have gotten that off of my chest.
Now. Where did I put my lipstick😘
Perhaps the best we can do is to start with liking ourselves.
Put the phone down.
Smile back at one another from time to time.
Well. The profits may plummet. Or. The prophets may profit.
Depends on how one choose to roll with it, I reckon.
Kinda ironic. That one person’s vain is another person’s vain.
Hopefully.
Somewhere.
In the middle.
There is to be a ration of sane.
That would be nice.
It would also be beautiful.
Nice and beautiful.
I wonder if Kitty Fisher knew about this novel way to be.
She may have then lived a little longer to share her epiphanies about being the bell of the ball. The bell of the balls.😳
