Christian Coming of Age Inspirational

Brow may wrinkle.

Hair grow gray.

Apophasis here to save the day.

Pass the test.

Stand the test.

Of time.

Father Time.

Mother Time.

Running out of Time.

Friendships that have stood the test—

Time and change.

Are surely best.

New-made friendships, like new wine🍷, Age will mellow and refine.(jp)

One is silver.

The other—Gold.

Songs.

Chants.

Practices.

Rituals.

Gestures.

Words.

Actions.

Reverence. A feeling. A feeling or attitude of deep respect. A feeling or attitude of deep respect tinged with awe; veneration. The word is often, (not always) used in relationship with religion. Religion often stimulates the emotion through recognition of a god, the supernatural and the effability. (wk).

Reverence built on trust and respect. Hard work.

The peace that passes understanding. The quality of something that surpasses the capacity of language to express it. Gold. Ironic at times as well. When the feeling of frustration causes us to feel the need to:

“Flip someone the bird”.

Hey. We’ve all thought about it. Someone of us have even put it into action. Knowledge is only held by the individual from which it originates.

Score one for Jesus🙏🏻

You choice.

Your move.

Your action.

Apophasis is not the new influencer you may think it to be. “It” has been around a long, long, long, long time. Wrapped in packaging we either love or hate. Although hate is a strong word and unfortunately there is plenty to go around. Why is this so?

Where is the “love”. “Love” when we need it……..Held to our own devices, chained to them too. Listening and straining to listen to that which we want to hear versus that which we need to hear.

Apophasis is a device. Not unlike the ones held in the palms of our hands many minutes of many days—more actually—too many minutes or too many every days. With that kind influence it is no wonder we are all not just walking face first into walls. Real walls. Not imaginary, wishful, not-yet-built rhetoric ones. To keep some out and some in.

I still don’t get it.

Apophasis can serve several purposes.

It would behoove us to get up to speed on the terms.

Sooner rather than later.

Reversing the damage takes time.

Takes your time.

Takes my time.

The best news is it is time well spent.

Very well spent.

With the right peeps.

Rituals are security.

Rituals can be traditions.

Rituals are reminders of endless possibilities within a framework of predictability.

Apophasis can be employed to raise ad hominem fallacies, formally valid, but remain rationally un persuasive. Sprinkle in a little virus and mumbled words and we have ourselves quite a conundrum.

Hasty + Assumption= Hasty Assumption.

Before you rush to sample day at the local grocer, remember hasty generalizations are assumptions gone array, run amok, stereotypically cornering.

Missing a point is or can be the difference between two and two hundred. The straw man slides down the slippery slope while reaching for you to join in the “fun”.

It can beg a question. Of truth or consequence.

Questions of circular reasoning is an action of seeking to answer with reason what the seeker is trying to end with, or end up with.(wk)

Interesring.

Circular reasoning is a close cousin of begging the question.

Bertrand Russell, influencer, observed the “method of ‘postulating’ what we want has many advantages; they are the same as the advantages of theft over honest toil’”.

Yes.

Theft. Over Honest Toil.

😳To name just a few of a person’s possible influences.

Yikes. I dunno about you, but I am feeling like a bit of a slacker.😔

We had all better get to work.

Hard work.

Being better to one another. Not necessarily better than always. Just better.

Be. The. Best.

Hard work?

Easy work?

No work.

What is work?

What work is.

IE: He works. It is necessary that he works.

And the like.

Not that like.

How?

Best?

DIY?

Do it yourself.

Not quite that simple.

Work.

”What are you going to be when you grow up?” Is a question about work. What is your work going to be? What will be your works? These are not questions about jobs and pay, but questions about life.(wjb)

Work is applied effort.

It is whatever we put ourselves into.

Work in the fundamental sense is not what we do for a living, it is what we do with our living.

The opposite of work is not leisure or play or having fun but idleness—not investing ourselves in anything. Like a jalopy stuck in time.

Oblivion sought for its own sake rather than for the sake of renewal, is just well, oblivion.🙃.

And. Possibly too many cold ones, brewskis……downers….

We want our children to flourish, live well and fare well. Pride in doing something well. Enjoy doing it. (wk)

Life’s greatest joys are not what one does apart from the work of one’s life, but with the work of one’s life. (wjb). If missed, this opportunity, a person has missed something very important. Very important. In a well lived existence. For others.

Setting the tone of a child’s life, setting the tone for work in school and life is best. God seems to have created bees 🐝 to inspire us toward industry. Seek the wisdom of Marian Douglas in the beautiful poem of “The Song of the Bee.”

Your homework assignment today:

You must seek to find the words. Work hard to discover the meaning behind the words.

Will keep in touch in case you cannot find Ms. Douglas’s work.

Remember, I am never far away.

Stay tuned.

To be continued.

Consider my words as a devotional, a ritual of best practices

To you!

For you!

As we learn together!

From your devoted friend,

Bee.

The Song of the Bee

By Marian Douglas

Buzz! Buzz! Buzz!

This is the song of the bee

His legs are of yellow;

A jolly, good fellow,

And yet a great worker is he.

In days that are sunny

He’s getting the honey;

In days that are cloudy

He’s making his wax:

On pinks and on lillies,

And gay daffodillies,

And columbine blossoms,

He levies a tax.

Buzz! Buzz! Buzz!

The sweet-smelling clover,

He, humming, hangs over,

The scent of the roses

Makes fragrant his wings;

He never gets lazy;

From thistle and daisy,

And weeds of the meadow,

Some treasure he brings.

Buzz! buzz! Buzz!

From morning’s first light

Till the coming of night,

He’s singing and toiling

The summer day through.

Oh! We may get weary,

And think work is dreary;

’Tis harder by far

To have nothing to do.
