The Fire and the Flames

By the time I stepped outside, the leaves were on fire. I couldn’t believe my eyes at what I was looking at. As the gray smoke filled the air off in the distance was a cloud so giant it put fear into my heart. I told myself that I knew this day would come but I didn’t know it would be so soon. The cloud was in the shape of a mushroom then all the sudden this giant gust of wind had hit me. 

As I looked around everything flew away or disintegrated in thin air. I knew that it was a nuke but I didn’t understand how I was still here? The wind stopped and I looked at myself as I was covered in black smoke. I ran inside to call some friends and family to see if they were okay. They answered as they made it into fallout shelters in time. I still wonder how I watched it and nothing happened to me.

I felt weird then started to feel sick to my stomach. I had a house left and went to get a drink Then layed down. As I laid there in pain I finally fell asleep but I started to have a nightmare. My friend was being pulled away from me and I woke up in anger and rage. I woke up and the bed was split like a person was slammed really hard onto my bed. 

I ran to the bathroom but to my surprise I looked normal. I went to grab the handle to turn on the sink water and I crushed it. I looked at myself once more but this time with fear. I thought I was still dreaming but it was real! I had super strength but it couldn’t be possible. It couldn’t be real!

I started freaking out then I started seeing different sights like I was teleporting and then I realized I was. I closed my eyes and wished I was back home. I opened my eyes and I was standing in my room but I was wondering what was happening to me. I started running to my friends house and then I started running extremely fast! I tripped and went sliding but I got up and there wasn’t a scratch on me.

I got to my friends house but I couldn’t find her and then I remembered they were at the fallout shelter. I ran to the shelter and the door was locked. I knocked but there wasn’t an answer so I tugged on the door and it flew off. I walked inside to find her and I heard a scream then a loud bang! I looked down and there was a hole in my shirt, I've been shot I thought to myself. I looked up and there she was she started crying after she realized who it was but It seemed like she thought I was something else.

I called her name and she looked up at me with confusion. I walked to her so she didn’t suspect anything and she said no you're not real you're one of those monsters! She ran off and I was so confused about what she meant by monster. I followed her and she ran into the shelter. I knocked on the door and asked them to let me in.

I pulled the door open and there were a bunch of people with guns as they yelled fire! The bullets tore through my clothes but bounced off of me. They stopped firing after they realized I didn’t fall down. I asked them where my friend was but there wasn’t an answer so I walked past them in search of her but they said stop. They said you can’t come any further, you have been infected but I didn’t know what they meant.

Then their leader came out. It was my surprise that it was my friend. She asked me if it was really me that she thought that I had died. I told her no but something happened, she was in the process of asking me what then some alarms started going off. I heard yelling, the monsters are here!

She said this has to wait till later and take off to their armory. I went outside and the monsters were people mutated like me but they were no longer alive. I walked up and started throwing them into the sky and fighting them the warriors stopped firing. I got rid of them and went back in. She asked me what happened to you. How did you get so strong?

I said I really don’t know but I have more powers and maybe more I don’t know about either. We went outside and I showed her how strong I was then out of nowhere she said you can’t stay here. I turned to her and asked why with confusion. She said because my people are scared and I got angry and asked her why do you want to throw me out for these people. I just saved them.

She said, you were exposed and they are all afraid of you. I'm sorry you have to go. I turned around and said you were always quick to get rid of me even before this happened and I walked away from her. I went to the one place I go to get away from everyone but now there really weren't many people. I started to see what my other powers could be and then I heard a loud alarm going off again

It was the same alarm at the shelter. I ran to see what it was and there were more monsters. I was still mad at them but they needed my help. I ran quickly and got rid of the monsters but there was still screaming. I ran very fast to find out why. I got into the shelter and there were real people attacking them. My friend was held up and then one loud shot went through the air and she fell to the ground.
