He walked with passion and always got angry, passionately. His fury blinded his eyes and deafened his ears. And over the years, his anger became as massive as his inability to notice it. He entered the car and smashed the door close, with his heavy hands. Breathing, as heavy as a bull. Waiting patiently, to explode on the culprit.
Gripping the wheel as tightly as he gritted his teeth.
As she walked closer to the car, his breathing intensified. And the minute she entered the car, he erupted like a volcano. Yelling his lungs out, his nerves popping out of his forehead, blood pumping heavily. He went on and on for minutes without stopping to take a breath.
As he continued to yell, she reached out and turned on the radio.
This made him even angrier, and he reached the next stage, where one stops talking. Going mum, was his ultimate trump card. And the rest of the drive, he refused to utter a word and she did not entertain him.
As soon as they reached, he went into his room, fuming, while she started preparations for dinner. He knew she is going to prepare dinner, even though he isn’t going to eat it, and upon hearing the calls from her, that the dinner is ready, he decided to walk out, just to spite her. And succeded.
After throwing tantrums to get his way, he came to the beach and sat on the bench. He plopped on the bench, as he doesn't really exercise anymore and it is quite visible because of his beer belly. The bench faced directly at the ocean. He noticed that it is extra windy today, and the tides are high, enough to engulf half of the beach. The wind is strong, so are his flames of anger, as he still hasn’t settled down. His anger rose and crashed as the wave did on the beach.
He came here to calm down a little, but the more he tried to settle down, his thoughts made him more furious. After all, he had a bad habit of hoarding things, including his emotions. And so they came out, at inappropriate places and in an inappropriate manner.
One by one going through all the things that he hates about her. Things that he dislikes and would love to change about her. His mind blew through memories, as the wind did around him. Except the wind did no partiality and caressed whatever was in front of it. And here he was, thinking of all the mistakes she had and has made, according to him.
Running through all the memories, picking especially the ones that he felt were wrong. And the more he thought of things from the top, he forgot the depths of it and instead got even angrier.
In anger, he dug out all the memories. As he sieved through the memories, he noticed one thing that was common in all of them. In the end, she always got her way.
He remembered the time when she forced him to quit his previous job, where he had been working for the last five years. Just because of her nagging, he was forced to quit the job and get the current one. And what about the time, when she took the money and invested it into something that she had very little idea about. Just thinking about that vexed him. As he did lose his hard-earned money.
Another habit he hates about her, which she does to this day, is constantly telling him to exercise. He hates exercise, and she hates the fact that he doesn’t even go for a walk outside. And this is a regular cause of the argument.
He hates when people just do things in the house without asking for his permissions as if he isn’t even considered. Like when she started her small business with her friend without asking him. He knew he was getting really worked up, as his heart rate picked up the pace. And so he had to utilize the heavy breathing exercises that she thought him. And it somewhat worked, to calm his heartbeat, but not his anger.
As he sat there, he took a deep breath, and said to himself, honestly I like the current job. There isn’t any physical labor like the previous one and the pay is also good. Well, she was right about it, he said to himself. But he still hated the nagging part, that broke him and forced him to find a new job.
The investment was a bummer as it was a fraud. And the business went very well, while it lasted, making more money than him. It did not make him jealous. More he put thought into it, he felt proud for her, and by now his anger had started to dip, a little.
As he thought about the money, it reminded him of the day when he had a heart attack. The profit she made from the business, came in handy. While he was in the hospital, she single-handedly took care of him, not even faltering once. She not only took him to the hospital in those conditions but also arranged the rest of the money for his treatments and medicines.
After realizing the journey, both of them have been through, he realized that all the decisions that she took, were not bad, but good. At least most of the time. The decisions that she took on his behalf, had made his life way better than it could have been. She may be pushy and straightforward, but she really cares about him and she does love him, a lot. And realizing that by now, his emotions subsided. And he had a slight smile on his face.
The more he churned through the thoughts, he realized all the decisions that she made for him were absolutely amazing in retrospect. He thought he made his life, and he did. Until he met her. And since that day she has carried him to the finish line.
Realizing this, his eyes turned watery. Unable to deal with or express this emotion, he felt like he choked on his own emotions. Unable to cry properly. And it took him quite a while to process the emotion and looking back he realized, marrying her was the best decision of her life. And after such a profound experience, he made the slow walk home, with the angry image that he had to uphold.
