Coming of Age Drama LGBTQ+

"Oh, hey there, Kevtin," said Reggie in response to our former bully. As Reggie took the sacrificial greeting towards Kevtin. Tomas, Ursa, and I all rolled our eyes.

If there was any indication how much we loathe this dude who was approaching us at this minute, it would speak volumes. Reggie too wasn't a big fan of the guy himself however, since Kevtin has mass respect for our dear friend. Especially after giving Kevtin the big win in the high school football finals, the dude has been much more approachable to say the least. Until he speaks from his ass.

"It's so good to see you, Reg!" started off Kevtin, while giving him the bro handshake. I already know Reggie was cringing within himself as he just went through it all for Kevtin's amusement.

"Right back at you," Reggie responded with a slight grinded teeth along with a convincing and enduring smile.

After their little bro handshake and short greeting, Kevtin turns to Tomas, grabbing him by the shoulder and obnoxiously blurs out towards the crowd, showing our friend: "Look who it is! It's our star player! Let's all get him hoorah!"

Automatically, as if to please the host, everyone, excluding us, gave a loud "HOORAH"! I was pretty sure that Kevtin's rich neighbors could hear them. If not before, most definitely now.

Subsequently, Kevtin gives Tomas a pat on the back while returning back to our group. He then greets him by saying: "Great work out there! I knew you could do it!"

"Huh, thanks, I guess not," said Tomas with a confused look. Like Tomas really wanted to be acknowledged and put on a pedestal for Kevtin's delight.

Kevtin next lets go of Tomas's shoulder and slicks his dirty blonde hair back as he casually walks to Ursa. I could already see her giving him a side-eyed as I also could hear her sigh of annoyance.

"Why hello there, Ursa! How's it going?" he asked while leaning his left arm on one of the book shelves near my confidant. Ursa's face could speak volumes right there for she was very expressive, either on her face or voice, and at this point, she was the most nuisance out of all of us.

"Oh, it's going," she finally says as she hoped that would get Kevtin to leave her alone.

"How's the tour coming along?" Kevtin next asked, clearly not getting the hint.

"It was good. Taking a break and suppose be back in a week," Ursa replied nonchalantly.

"Good, I'm glad to hear. Hey, I was thinking since you have time in your schedule, how would you like to go on a date with me sometime?" Kevtin asked desperately for the hundredth time.

And here we go again, even after high school, Kevtin had never changed. Throughout our high school years, Kevtin would always try to find ways to take out Ursa on a date, but numerous of times, it will fail, especially considering Reggie was always there. Even if Reggie and Ursa had some rough patches by taking a break, Kevtin always find the opportunity to win Ursa over. However, to no avail, Ursa was clearly never interested in Kevtin from the get-go. Especially since Kevtin is known as a serial cheater.

"Let me think..." started Ursa as she ponders there but only for a few seconds. "It's a no."

"STILL?" asked Kevtin surprisingly. "Why do you keep denying me?"

"Cause you never change, Kevtin."

"Oh, I have changed, Ursa."

"Oh really? How so?"

"I've been straight forward and honest with my relationships. No more cheating, no more lies. Just honest and wholesome truths."

"That's something a serial cheater would say."

That triggered him to the point that Kevtin got annoyed as he went off: "Listen here, Ursa. I know I have been a shitty person back in the day but I have turned over a new leaf. Can you just give me a chance? Let me treat you out and you'll see how much of a better person I am than I was like in my teens."

"The answer is still no, Kevtin."

"But Ursa-" started off Kevtin until I interrupted him by saying:

"She said no, dude."

Kevtin gives me an annoying look, but then gets confused as he eyed me up and down. He removes himself from the bookshelf as well as Ursa's personal space, and proceeds to approach me.

Once he was an arm's length away, he asked me right there and then: "Excuse me but do I know you?"

It was then I realized he hasn't recognized me after my transition. I was not the timid boy he used to bully anymore. No, instead I was now a transwoman with fashionable attire and little makeup to show up for it. Kevtin was clearly not comprehending who he was speaking to.

"Well?" He asked impatiently.

I eventually answered, considering I wanted to see if he actually knew. My answer went along the lines of: "Don't see? It's me Sam!"

"Sam?" Kevtin continue giving face. A face of dim witted orge.

"The Sam you used to bully around."

"You got to be more specific. Cause I have met a lot of Sams in my day."

"You sure you didn't torment most of them. There was only like a handfuls of Sams in our class alone. Surely, you can remember this Sam?"

"Can't say I don't."

I sighed before giving up defeatedly: "I was the Sam who was very timid and shy until Reggie here came along. You used to get me swirlies."

A light bulb went on by Kevtin's head as soon as I mentioned my suffering towards my old bully. After now realizing who I was, Kevtin remarks: "Now I remember! Sam, yes! I apologize for everything I have ever done to you. That was totally bad on my part. Can you forgive me?"

"It's already water under the bridge," I responded with a half smile. Clearly I haven't forgotten about it though.

"Great, I'm happy to hear we can bury the hatchet for once. Sorry it took so long."

"Don't mention it."

"What's with the get up though?" he asked me to look at the body.

"Oh, I just completed my transition from being a man to woman not too long ago." I even gave him a little twirl.

"Ah, I see. Here I am thinking you were cross dressing and some random cosplayer. That's- that's good for you."

"Gee, thanks," I said while mentally rolling my eyes there.

Kevtin coughs before replying: "Anywho, I should get back to the party. It was good seeing you all for old time sake's. Please let me know if you all need anything."

A bit strange, but we'll take it. The four of them gave our host: "Thank you."

Kevtin then walks away while leaving us at his reading room. Once he wasn't earshot and out of sight, we all looked at each other as we couldn't help but laugh.

"Some people never change," Ursa made the first jab.

"Right, I was like why is this dude trying so hard," mentioned Reggie.

"You were a bit of a try hard yourself," Tomas nudges Reggie sarcastically.

"Hey now, I was only trying to be nice with our most 'humble' host," Reg smiled.

"Well, you did good on that part," I remarked.

"Did you see how awkward it got between you two?" asked Ursa. "I mean I know it was a bit nerve wracking when it came between him and I. But man, once he found what about the real you Sam, he paddled back."

"Paddled back so hard," points out Tomas.

"Yeah, I notice," I said. "It was like he was seeing me as a completely different person."

"Thankfully he didn't start any bull crap," noted Reggie. "He tends to talk out of his own ass at times."

"Most certainly," agreed Ursa. "Cause if he did, we will counteract him with something he's ashamed about."

"Right on," second Tomas. "We will always have your back, Sam!"

I smiled at my friends before replying: "I know and I will always have your backs as well."

The four of us then resume our reminisce to our given past. Bringing some good memories, even some embarrassing moments, of our recollect archives. We laughed and cried the tears of joy until we heard the speakers go off: "Hey ya'll, it's me your boy, your host: the Kevman! Asking for everyone's undivided attention! Including our humble guests: CREW R-U!"

And like that, our moment with one another was short-lived for the host of the party, aka the Try-Hard Kevtin, interrupts itit, yet again....
