Hello, and welcome to Winston Street. Here there is no separation no one ever left out and segregation is a word that most of the people here don't know the meaning of. Here on Winston street, no one is ever lonely, no one ever feels sad, because on Winston street, the community and the people here are incredible.
There's Old Man Smith, he's the guy you go to to hear a story. He's always sitting on his porch screen waiting for someone, anyone to come and sit up there and listen to his stories. If you go up there, he'll sit you down with a cup of lemonade and start talking. You'll never get bored there. He could tell you amazing stories of knights slaying dragons to get the beautiful princess on the other side, but in those stories, there is always a twist. You never hear the same story from him.
Or he could tell you about brave rock climbers who put their life on the line to get to the top of the world. Perhaps he could tell you a story of a cowboy in the West who's been in a standoff with the sheriff for a day now, and neither are backing down! Or about how when he was a young lad the best moments of his life when every weekend, his father took him out to play catch in the front yard. They would throw it back and forth for hours talking. Perhaps about that cute girl at school, or how their favorite team was doing. He could talk for hours about fictional stories, things he wished he could do, or things he has done.
In all of Old Man Smith's story, there is always comedy. He has a knack for knowing how to make people laugh. You could walk up there, never have met him in your life, and somehow he knows exactly what will make you spit out you lemonade, or laugh so hard your chest starts to hurt. He always knows, how to cheer someone up and make them laugh.
If your more of an athletic person go down a little farther down the street where you'll find the McKinley boys playing basketball. All you have to do is ask and they'll let you join. White or Black, old or young, your always welcome to play. You could be the worst basketball player on the planet, but they will still let you play. The games that they play are legendary. Everyone in the end has a fantastic time and either learned something new or got to have a fantastic time.
Old Man Smith's favorite spot when he isn't telling his stories is down at the Johnson Ladies' house. They live in a big old bight pink house in the middle of the street. You can't miss it. Old man Smith says the house is the color of the heart, because the heart is what they get going when you go there. No need to ring the doorbell, their door is always unlocked, just come on inside and they'll sit you down and give you some freshly baked cookies. Old Man Smith says he goes there for the cookies, but whenever he goes there, he comes out holding at least three bags of cookies and he's always blushing so much, his cheeks are redder than a firetruck.
The Johnson Ladies will also teach you how to cook the best cookies, cakes, donuts, ice cream, anything really you've ever tasted. They will show you how to cook it, then give you the recipe to take hope so you can do it yourself. It never tastes as good when you make it because the Ladies say they always add a little extra love in their dishes.
If you need advice, or you need help with something in general, go on down to Mr. Butler's house which is three houses down form the Johnson ladies house. Need help tying a tie because you can never remember how to do it? Done. He'll do it and teach you how to at the same time. Is your toilet leaking and you have know idea how to fix it and don't have the time or money for a plumber? Call Mr. Butler. He'll get it fixed in now time, and he always finishes the job with a smile on his face.
The fire department and the police department on Winston Street are simply superb. If you need a new smoke detector, head down to the fire department, where you'll be greeted with a smile and a smoke detector. Is your child obsessed with police cars and firetrucks? Head on down, they'll give you a tour of the station, and your child (and you perhaps) will have a great time.
And Finally if you go to any other house on Winston street, you'll be greeted graciously to the street and to their happy community. You'll make new friends, learn new things, do something perhaps you've never done before. Who knows?
When night falls on Winston Street, there is no violence, there is only peace. When night falls, the residents of Winston Street all count their blessings for they live in such a legendary place, that they don't need to worry about being attacked, they don't need to know what to do if a police officer pulls them over, they don't have to worry about inequality or racism or any of that such. They are a community. They don't have to worry about that. We shouldn't have to worry about that
So if you are feeling down, feeling unnoticed, feeling like no one cares, feeling like the color of your skin, or how you are is making you feel bad or unheard of? Come down to Winston Street, stay as long as you'd like, listen to one of Old Man Smith's Stories, play some basketball with the McKinley boys, or perhaps pick up some cookie and love at the Johnson Ladies house because in that community, you'll always be welcome. And that's how everywhere should be like. Just like Winston Street.

This is idyllic. What a great place to exist. I kept waiting for some conflict or something to create some drama but I guess that you’re much more going for a utopian ideal. Thanks for sharing this!
