Doppelgangers

The German word doppelganger came from German writer Johann Paul Richter. It means “an apparition or double of a living person.” Also known as “double-walker.”  A doppelganger is a supernatural/paranormal occurrence. You have a one and 135 of having a doppelganger. A doppelganger can be living or dead. If it is dead it is basically you that lived before you were alive. A dead doppelganger is known to give malicious advice and come from the under-world. They will usually be your evil twin. If you see your doppelganger it is usually an omen of death but to all the stories that usually means if you see your ghost doppelganger. If you see your real life living doppelganger can mean an omen of bad luck. If someone else sees your doppelganger meaning like friends and family it means you are very, very sick.

The cause of a doppelganger is listed in many different ways. Science says everyone has a doppelganger dead or alive. With that one and 135 percent chance, that means of living doppelgangers on the planet. Usually they’re ghosts. But they are a type of demon able to shape-shift. You might not know the difference between look-alikes and doppelgangers. Well there is. A look-alike might be someone who has some of the same facial features. While a doppelganger has everything in common. The ghost doppelgangers are usually hallucinations that have reason behind them. In the following stories below show signs of death from the hallucinations almost like a look into the future.

You might have some questions about further information including doppelgangers. Like how many doppelgangers can one have or is a doppelganger biological? You can have at least 7 doppelgangers. Doppelgangers can be biological but usually aren’t. Does everyone have a doppelganger? Science says you have at least one in the world somewhere. What happens if you meet a doppelganger? So since doppelgangers have this omen of bad doesn’t mean you will die right after necessarily. You get this thing called “The doppelganger effect.” Does a doppelganger share everything? Some state that they dress, walk, talk, and act the exact same way as you do. Is this creepy? Certainly, maybe you think this is a little scary to even think if there was another you in the world. I would definitely be shocked to see me staring at me.

There are many conspiracies about these supernatural-recurring species. The doppelganger effect especially. They will usually be hallucinations of them thinking they are actually seeing and interacting with another one of them. Doppelgangers could also be known to carry the legacy of that person. They could even impersonate someone and be just like them and all of their friends could even get tricked. But it is hard to think someone in the world could have your dad's mouth or your mom's eyes. I find that a little scary to think about. There is this one conspiracy that sticks out to me thinking there is this duplicate of earth and the people on it and that's what hallucinations are. If that’s so that means there are 7 universes and you could end up seeing in other universes. I also find that really scary but it could make sense.

Look-alikes and doppelgangers share some similar features but are totally different. Some examples might be Bryce Dallas Howard and Jessica Chastain, Sarah Hyland and Mila Kunis, Zooey Deschanel and Katy Perry, Nina Dobrev and Victoria Justice. People might say they’re doppelgangers because they have some very similar facial and body features. But do they look exactly alike? The answer is no. When doppelgangers they mean everything is similar. You can look like someone but doesn’t mean that they’re your exact replica. 

The TV show “The Vampire Diaries” is all based on doppelganger science. Even including the travelers to the passengers and to the other supernatural species. As you might know, the show has a trail of female and male doppelgangers. The main ones in the show are Elena Gilbert and Stefan Salvatore. In the Elena doppelganger line comes Tatia, Amara, Katherine and then lastly Elena. In the Stefan line of doppelgangers comes Silas, Stefan and then Tom Avery. For them their doppelgangers were all biological. These doppelgangers were spelled by witches to influence the balance of nature because they were created immortal and needed another way to die. For passengers it says that they can fully take over a body and that's what happened in TVD. 

Then there are real life celebrity doppelgangers. Some of the celebrities we know have doppelgangers are Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, Lady Gaga, Reese Witherspoon, Liam Hemsworth, Jennifer Lopez, Adele, Emma Watson, Arianna Grande, John Legend, Angelina Jollie, Gigi Hadid, Beyonce, Leonardo Decaprio, Kim Kardashian, and Ryan Gosling. There could be even more. But these are insane actual replicas of these celebs. They have the same style and even personality. 

The story of Queen Elizabeth the First is very interesting. She saw her doppelganger lying in her bed motionless. She was described as “pallid, shivered, and wan.” So that means she would have really been sick when she died. But then not soon after she died of Sepsis. That also means did she hallucinate or really saw a ghost of her doppelganger?

Maria Jesus de Agreda was a 17th century Franciscan nun. She saw an astral voyage of herself which is a form of doppelganger but no deathly implications. So she died a normal death but still saw this look alike of her. She died at the age of 63. With a continued legacy and completed the goal of writing 14 books.

Percy Byssche Shelley was a famed English Romantic Poet. He saw his doppelganger several times throughout his life. His first encounter was on a terrace just standing there looking out abroad. His second encounter was at the beach. He was just sitting in the wet sane just looking over the water. He was relaxed. Not long after that encounter he went on to sail the sea and drowned in a sailing accident.

Catherine the Great was an empress of Russia. She was in her bed trying to sleep while her servant saw her doppelganger in the throne room. They were all really confused because they thought she was all sleeping and she was. The servant woke her up to let her come see. So she came out and saw herself sitting on the throne. She yelled for the guards to shoot at the doppelganger. But the doppelganger was unscathed. Just weeks after that she died of a stroke. Her 3 kids then held the legacy after her death.

Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe was a writer, poet, politician. He encountered his doppelganger when riding home on a road after visiting his friend. He was wearing different clothes than his doppelganger. A couple years later he was on his way to visit that same friend and saw that mysterious rider again from years before and he was wearing the exact same clothes as him. Was the first one his actual sight? Were they all hallucinations?

Abraham Lincoln the 16th president of the United States of America. He had an “inexplicable encounter” the night of his first election. He was ghostly and pale just looking at him in the mirror. He sprung up and then the doppelganger disappeared. So he sat back down and saw him again. He got really nervous and his wife was really worried for him. He then realized the doppelganger was his dead self. Later on he died from getting assassinated in Ford’s theater by well-known actor John Wilkes.

Emilie Sagee was a dedicated teacher working in France in the mid 19th century. She was tortured by her doppelganger in public and even in the classroom. She believed she was truly evil. She was always mimicked in the classroom. Students would even come up to the evil doppelganger and she would be real nasty to them. The students' parents would end up taking them out of that school. Sagee soon lost her job as a teacher. There is no further information about her.

Sir Fredrick Carne Rasch was sick with the flu and bed-ridden. His friend ended up going to the debate. He spotted Rasch in the Parliament during the debate and sat right next to him and greeted him. The doppelganger had no reaction. His friend turned his head and the doppelganger disappeared and he looked and looked all around but could not find him. Other people at the Parliament also said they saw him. Actual Carne Rasch recovered and found out about the incident. He wrote a lengthy newspaper. He ended up living for a few more years. 

Guy de Maupassant was a french writer living in the years of 1850-1893. He regularly interacted with his doppelganger. His doppelganger started “dictating a short story called The Horla.” His doppelganger ended up being like a passenger in the hit show “The Vampire Diaries.” A couple months later he was transmitted to an Insane Asylum and then suddenly died there at the age of 42. He currently rests in Montparnasse Cemetery. 

There are a lot of crazy stories of doppelgangers and these were only just a few. My opinion on the whole subject of doppelgangers is kind of scary. They assure bad luck and even death. For how cool it is to actually be able to speak to yourself or even see yourself in a different perspective is pretty cool. But I really don’t want to see my doppelganger. Some people even posted pictures with their doppelganger. Their opinions stating that it is really weird but cool.
