BAAM

The door behind me slammed with a loud bang and I felt this rush of wind pass through me. I tried to keep my composure, to seem stronger than I really was, my bottom lip quivered a little as I slowly sunk down. I clenched the hem of my dress and tried to push back the pain, but my heart wavered too painfully. I couldn’t stop the tremor in my voice, or the swelling in my throat or the tears that welled up in my lashes. I leaned against the cold metal and slid down to the floor, feeling as if all my being had been shattered in that moment.

One door opens for me and all the others that once welcomed me, locked me out.

Ain't that a cliche?

'Well Daria, you already knew what you were getting into', the young girl thought to herself as black mascara-stained tears fell.

The scene was set. . .Now where do I stand?

Verse 1:

No more Tears, No regret

I've laid my path and now I'm set

Not a puppet, Not a pet

Now I have my own throne

But Can I stand on my own?

(Tired of pretending)

I guess I never Learn

Yet again, I return~

To that place, oh the shadows

Where no one, oh no one

Oh no one, Dares to follow~

That San Diego girl who stands alone, On her plateau

No one Sees me, No one heeds me, No one Believed me

But you see, This girl never flaws!~

I know it hurts so good, you can't take it~

No more breaking, I stand tall!

You can send your regards to the old me

No one controls me, I triumph all~

I never thought I had what it takes

To be the star of my own story

But then you left me behind

And I had to find my way

I realized I had a voice

That no one could take away~

I have the key (it's my time to lead)

Just me being me (oh)

It feels like i'm finally free (free?)

Time to gather my wings

To step into the Limelight

And that's where I'll sing!~ (And that's where I'll sing!~)

Chorus:

Now I'm stepping into the limelight~

Limelight~ Limelight~

I'm shining brighter than ever before

I'm not afraid to show who I am (This is who I am)

Who I am, Who I am

'Cause this heart wants more & more

I'm living for the applause

I'm singing from my soul

I'm not looking back at the past

'Cause this is my time, to glow~

Verse 2:

I may have been a weak link once

But never, oh NOT, Again

No more trying to fit, copy or blend

That ended with my so called 'friends'

(rap)

Our group was good but not great

A nest full of snakes

And I, just the bait

You can never try this girl again

I met some new some new friends

I said my peace, I made amends

Now I'm on a different page (page)

And I have a different stage (stage)

I feel a hundred thousand eyes on me!~

But I, will stand, Oh, I still stand tall!~ (you hear that)

You thought, you could break me down

But I built myself back up~

You tried to dim my spark

But I never burned out of luck~

Say hello to the new me!~

This is my solo, this my time to shine!~

Chorus:

Now I'm stepping into the limelight!~

Limelight~ Limelight~

I'm shining brighter than ever before

I'm not afraid to show who I am

'Cause this is what my heart wants more

I'm living for the applause

I'm singing from my soul

I'm not looking back at the past

'Cause this is my time to glow

Bridge:

I hoped we could've burned this stage

And bask in the summer's Plage

Chorus:

Now I'm stepping into the limelight

I'm shining brighter than ever before

I'm not afraid to show who I am (this is who I am)

'Cause this is what my heart wants more

I'm living for the applause

I'm singing from my soul

I'm not looking back at the past.

'Cause this is my time to glow

Outro:

This is my time to glow (x4)

"And Cut!"

As I felt the rush start to calm back down, I gaze with a smile still with a black tear stained at everyone at the studio.

"Good job everyone!"

“Here you go, Miss Daria,” my assistant said as he stepped on the platform and handed me a pack of make-up remover wipes. He smiled at me with admiration and respect.

"Thank you I said", and picked one from the package.

“You were on fire out there. .I mean it”, He wiped off some of the sweat from his forehead with his sleeve. He had been working hard all day to make sure everything went smoothly for me.

I wiped off my tears and I breathed in the few seconds of enthrallment I was feeling after doing my first music video shoot.

"Hey. .I just wanted to make sure you knew, a few of the members from your group came by and watched and they dropped this by", He said and gave me the lunchbox.

I looked down and I felt my heart bumble.

'Don't push yourself too hard, always remember to take care of yourself while your on tour : )', a little sticky note red

“That was beautiful, Miss Daria,” the director said as he walked up to me and gave me a hug. He looked at me with a proud and satisfied expression. “You did a fantastic job. You’re a star.” He let go of me and cleared his throat. He glanced at his clipboard and frowned slightly. “I just have one concern,” he said in a lower tone. I side-eyed him, wondering what he was going to say.

"It's nothing like that", he chuckles at my reaction, "I'm just about your old bandmates. . what if they see this. .it can cause some negative reactions y'know"

"Them huh?", I spoke looking up, I smirked.

"`Fuck them. . . This is my time."
