“Change” To Royalty Always Makes Good, “Cents”
Once upon a time in a huge metropolis called Danville, Va., there lived a princess named Roxanne who lived in a small 60 room castle. She was really beautiful like her mama and extremely smart like her daddy, besides having servants to do just about everything she could ever need. The problem was she watched some movies on t v about people who fell i love and ended up getting married, but her parents were so protective of her they wouldn’t let her go out with anybody who wasn’t a prince and since her parents ruled over the whole country, they wouldn’t let her go out with just any bit of royalty without first checking them out to see if he was worthy enough to be somebody who was good enough for their daughter. Needless to say, that only limited her to a few guys she was allowed to go out with. The only dates her parents would allow her to be affiliated with were the kinds that were served on plates, and they had the, “pits.”
As Roxanne grew up, she became more beautiful. The problem was her parents told her, “It’s not your season yet, dear. The Bible says in Ecclesiastes, ‘To everything there is a season,’ and yours has not come yet. We will let you know when the best time is.” The fact was, since she was their only daughter, (they had 3 sons), they wanted to be absolutely positive the guy she went with was worthy enough to take over as king of the land when they went Home.
Roxanne was sad because she’d seen love movies on t v where the guy and girl fall in love, get married and that’s how it ends. Then one night she looked out her window and saw a falling star. That excited her because the only, “falling stars” she knew about were some people in the movies whom her parents deemed unworthy to date her, but when they’d come up the side of her mansion, her daddy would pull out the ladder, making them be real, “falling stars.” Anyway, she made a wish that the right guy would come into her life and he’d be worthy to her parents.
That was when she noticed a princely looking buy on a trampoline, trying to jump up high enough to be close to Princess Roxanne. He was really good-looking. In Roxanne’s opinion, he was some real eye-candy. He was trying to spring up by using a trampoline set right outside the cassel. As he bounced up closer to her, she opened the window and smiled at him.
Then her daddy, the king saw him and ran out to the trampoline. When the prince was way up in the air, he moved it out of the way, causing him to hit the ground hard. The king laughed a really sinister kind of laugh and said, “That will teach you! You just had a, ‘fall’ in your, ‘spring!’ “
When the summer rolled around, Princess Roxanne wanted to go swimming and get some much-needed p. a., (physical activity), so she went swimming in the moat that surrounded the castle. Yet while she was swimming, a peasant boy walked by and called out to her, “Excuse me, Miss, can you tell me where I can find the king? I need to deliver a burger to him. That would make him a, ‘Burger King.’ Doesn’t he live here in this cassel? I’ve come to bring him some tassels to decorate the inside. Where I come from we call them, ‘cassel-tassels.’ “
Princess Roxanne was knocked off her feet by that gorgeous hunk of man who had just asked her that question. That was embarrassing, but she stood up after getting knocked down and said, “Uh, yeah. You’ve come to the right place. I’ll deliver them to the king. How much do you want for payment for them? Money is no object. You’ll buy me anything. Uh, I mean, cool.”
When the good-looking guy gave her the merchandise, Roxanne paid him and gave him an extra lera for a tip. He’d never received such a tip that big. He’d always gotten a few pasoes, but nothing that big before. When he pointed out she’d paid him too much, she said, “Aw, keep it. Just keep that extra lira for a tip. I’ve got another tip for you, now I’m free tonight if you want to do something fun with me. We could go watch a jousting match if you don’t mind watching guys get knocked off their horses. All I know of a, ‘horse’ is it's what I get with a sore throat.”
That made the peasant boy laugh. “I love a girl with a sense of humor! Are you free tonight?”
That’s when she went on a real, “date,” not one that gets eaten. When he returned her to the cassel he asked if she’d like to go out again. Princess Roxanne was excited to say, “Yeah!”
However the next night, the king was suspicious about his daughter going somewhere without telling him where she went, so he set a trap for the young lad. When he got close to the cassel, all the tassel fell off of it which meant it could no longer be a, “tassel-cassel.” Of course, that made the princess quite irate at her daddy for doing that. She told him, “Look, Daddy, the Bible says, ‘to everything there is a season.’ My season has come! I want to mery that guy! Stop treating him like a thief! He is really bright! That means he’d make you an excellent, ‘son!’ “
When the king saw his daughter was serious about that guy, he asked his wife, the queen, her opinion. She agreed, so the couple were wed the next week since her parents wanted to give her the prerogative to change her mind. Yet she told them, “I need some bigger living arrangements. My room is so small I have to step outside of it just to change my mind!”
Yet before the wedding could happen, an evil witch who answered to the name of Medusa, (well most witches answer to that name and the rest won’t answer), who was insanely jealous of Roxanne since she wanted the prince to marry her, but she was an old hag. In fact, if anybody stared at her, they were turned into stone like Medusa, who had all those snakes instead of hair, did to anybody who looked at her. She was, “sssso ssssinisssster, jusssst sssseeing her did that. Each time she took a shower she had to wash her snakes, which was something they didn’t enjoy very much. She passed her curse on to Princess Roxanne. That made her a little grumpy, partly because she didn’t know what kind of shampoo was best for washing snakes.
That meant the wedding had been ruined. Still, while the cathedral was full of people who’d come to see the blessed event of making the 2 lives both become 1, there was no way to stop it.
Just then, the prince’s guardian angel flew into the sanctuary. While that poor princess wept bitterly since her wedding had been ruined, the angel whispered in her ear, “Don’t cry, Princess. I can make everything alright if you will believe miracles can happen today. Please try to do it.”
Since the princess believed God could do any kind of myracle, she prayed and asked Him to fix her wedding, which should be the happiest day of her life. She whispered, “I believe in miracles! That’s what it’s going to take at this point in time for my wedding to carry through!”
That’s when the season changed from bitterly cold to pleasantly warm. Suddenly everything fell into place. Everything the evil witch had done was undone. That’s because good is stronger than evil. When everybody who was headed for their donkeys heard a sound, they turned around and saw everything had turned back the way it was meant to be. When the witch, who was perfectly irate because her curse had been countered, she raised her magic wand to zap that angelic creature who had countered her whole curse out of existence, but when she pointed it towards the couple and that creature who had messed up her curse, a bolt of lightning struck where the witch was standing. When the smoke cleared, she was gone. The strike had come from the good witch who was standing there holding her bright smoldering wand in her hand. She’d zapped that evil witch out of existence, never to bother anybody on Earth again.
The wedding continued, and it was the most beautiful wedding the world has ever seen. Many celebrities were there to honor the royal wedding and was open to the public so anybody who wanted to come could see it. It was the most beautiful wedding in history, even prettier than Lady Dianne’s. A few years later they blessed the country with some royal children whom would some day take their parents' seat on the throne. At any rte, like the best-loved children’s stories of all-time will officially finish up with, “THEY ALL LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER!!!!”
The end. —-----------------------------------------------------------
