Awful! Horrible! Disaster! "These words filled my day, sucking the sanity of my mind. Only 5 more minutes until I was free from my prion of papers, black ink, and horrible coworkers. Everyday it was the same. Why couldn't I have a fun job? After all I wasn't a office type person. At least I didn't think so, I saw myself as a CEO of some huge company or a famous actor or singer, signing autographs wherever I go. Never have to file papers again. Bam! My thoughts were stopped by a pile of papers that would be waiting for me when I return tomorrow.

"Jackie." said Mason one of my coworkers. "Its five past five, are you going to come to the party tonight?"

"I don't think so." I said "I'm just going to go home and sleep."

"Come on Jackie." Said Mason, "Why can't you have any fun?"

I shrugged my shoulders and grabbed my coat and headed out of my so dreaded office and out to my car. I was still debating going to that party tonight, it was to celebrate Linda's retirement, don't get me wrong I love going to parties and celebrating all kinds of stuff but for some reason I just wanted to go home. I reached my car and tried opening the door and of course it was locked. i looked all through my purse but couldn't find my keys. My keys? Where are my keys? I looked all around but, they weren't in any of my pockets or on the ground. I tried the door again and looked on my seat in the car. Of course I had left them in my car. Just great all I want to do is go home and now I have locked myself out of the car. Now what am I going to do? I picked up my phone and called a taxi. I am just going to go home and deal with thins tomorrow. Only have to wait half an hour for the taxi to get here. Why does this always happen to me? And as if the clouds heard me it started to rain, so I ran back to the office and stood under the slanted roof. In a half an hour the taxi finally showed up and I got in the front seat.

"How you doing today ma'am?" said the taxi driver who smelt like strong tobacco. "It was a fine day out until it started to rain"

"I'm fine." I said very annoyed. "433 Harbor ST."

It was a quiet ride, I think I kinda scared him because of my bad mood. I was almost home when a black car darted out in front of us. We were hit on the side of the yellow taxi. Just great! This day was getting better and better by the second. Both the taxi driver and I got out of the car and he proceeded to exchange insurance and stuff like that. I paid the taxi driver and decided I was going to walk the rest of the way home. He looked at me kinda funny as I left and was on my way home but I didn't care, I wanted to get home and I didn't want to have to wait around for the taxi. Sure it probably wasn't the best idea since it was getting dark and probably going to rain again and I was probably still a mile from home. But I didn't want to wait another half hour for a different taxi to pick me up. Today was a horrible day and all I want to do is go home and never step foot in that office again. But since I worked in an office my high heels I wear were starting to become very painful but taking them off would result in walking the rest of the way home barefoot. But, I guess it doesn't matter anyway since I was still wet from the rain, so I continued to walk home barefoot. Part of me wishes i had gone to that party and had fun for the night, but the other part of me just wants to go home and curl up in a ball and fall asleep. But, right now I couldn't do either one since I was stuck walking home. Behind me a car horn startled me and I turned around to see who it was. It was Mason for the office. I thought he was at the party. He pulled over and opened his window.

"Jackie, what the heck are you doing out here?" he asked.

"It's a very long story." I said.

"Well this is a funny question, but do you need a ride?"

I nodded my head and got in the passenger seat of his car. He seemed to sense that I was annoyed and tired so he didn't talk much. It took all of ten minutes to drive home, I thanked him.

"Are you sure you don't need anything." he asked.

"I'll be fine."

The door was unlocked and I walked inside and on my couch was my husband David who was away on a trip.

"I thought you weren't supposed to be home until friday?" I asked very surprised.

"I got home early." He replied. "How was your day?"

"You're the first good thing that has happened all day." I said.

"What happened?"

"Once upon a time a horrible day."
