New year , 2019

After dancing for 2 hours straight we are tired enough to go home and sleep 

Dancing , drinking , loud music and large crowd is kind of fun . Our first new year as lovers to be frank I’m not totally a party type person .

When he said let’s go home 

“ Keshav. , I want to see the first sunrise with you “ I asked 

“ Okay , I’ll take you to place which you have never been before “

“ Yeah,” I shouted out of excitement 

It’s around 3 am in the morning , roads are empty 

“ Keshav, you promised me on empty roads you will let me drive your bike, I want to drive now please “ I asked 

“ Okay , I’ll see how will you take me “ he said 

Like he is challenging me 

When he sat behind me I felt so heavy and I jerked as I could balance myself and he was giggling 

“Have anyone told you , how evil you are ?” I asked out of frustration 

He was still giggling 

I started to drive , I didn’t want to give up though

While driving I felt like taking a 6 foot 3 inches tower with me . 

I’m radio he is my listener 

But for now we switched places 

I couldn’t utter a single word because I’m so tensed and he is continuously talking 

“ Hey Shireen , you know why did I let you drive ?” 

 “ No , tell me why “

 “ Because I’m tired “, he said and started giggling again 

 “This is the lamest thing I ever heard “

 “I had a dream to sit behind my girl and hold her while she is driving” he said 

 I could see a smile on his face while saying these words from the left hand side mirror 

We have been more like best friends and less like lovers and that was the things I dreamt of. I feel so lucky whenever he cross my mind , how lucky to find someone who can be a best friend and love of my life .

With whom I can complain, fight , scold , shout , cry in his arms and still can never let go !

I’m not a rider and it was first time for me to ride a bike to be honest I couldn’t handle its weight and I don’t want to give up because I felt like it is a challenge but my man is the sweetest he sensed it and he didn’t let me down but he was sarcastic all the time 

“ Hello madam ji, are you planning to reach at noon , when do you think we shall reach if we go in this speed , let me drive “ he said 

This time I silently sat back without utter a word 

“ Now fasten your seat belt “ he said 

I laughed out so loud for those words 

It is around 4a.m. we aren’t even half way 

Just like a lions roar I heard the engine revving up , 

I don’t even know at what speed he is driving 

I can only feel the cool air hitting my face, my hair waving with speed of air , I felt the Temperature falling down at a moment when the road is covered with full of fog.

I couldn’t see , I was frightened what if someone comes from the opposite side , I don’t even know how he was managing to drive in that thick fog , if it was me I couldn’t have made it , he is not only funny but he is also adventurous 

It is 5:15 am, I could see farms on both the side of roads, I could smell the aroma of coffee while passing there 

“ Is this coffee plantation around , I can smell freshly brewed coffee “ I said 

“Yeah, all these are organic farms, and the coffee here is amazing , we should taste before leaving” he said 

As we entered the village it is much cool , fog all over the road , the roads smell strawberry , everywhere there is a strawberry plantation . I really loved the passage way through the village , the farms spreading aroma , cold winds gently touching my body , twilight of the sky .

We reached a hill , it was 5:45 am by then .

The Twilight of the sky is going to be broken by the sunrise within few minutes and we are waiting to witness the first sunrise of the year .

Winter morning’s are always romantic 

Cool air , warm twilight sky .

The sky looked so beautiful with mixed colours when the darkness is being broken by sunrise ,

I entwined my fingers with his and leaned on his shoulders pointing towards the sun 

I looked at his face when I saw the sky turning from pink to orange 

“Happy new year, my love “ I said 

My eyes are widen with excitement and I couldn’t stop smiling

“ Happy new year , Mi Amor” he said 

He came little closer and leaned toward me

And we started to kiss until the sky turned completely from pink to orange 

“ I have been dreaming for this moment “ I said with a bright smile on my face .

“ Why do you love me ?” He asked 

 Tugging my hair around my earlobe 

“ You know every night before I go to sleep I used to feel embarrassed of my imperfections and most of the time I kind of hate myself but from the day I met you I never thought about it , when I’m with you I don’t hate myself anymore 

Honestly, I never loved anyone in my life the way I love you “ I said 

He smiled at me listening to me and kissed me on my forehead and said “ you are the best thing that ever happened to me !”

7:30 am

We are so tired to go back home right now , so we thought to stay there till afternoon and rest for few hours and enjoy the nature around us . He was very sleepy I can tell that by looking at him 

One of his friends was there at the same place , last night they came to celebrate New year unlike us they came for psychedelic party 

There was an empty space where all these nighters occupied with tents on one side and on the other side they parked their vehicles.

His friends came to say hi they all seem very friendly 

We all went to have coffee , I haven’t taste such a beautiful coffee in my entire life , I also brought some coffee powder .

It was already 2pm

We started returning to home , completely exhausted , as soon as I reached home I went straight into my room and slept 

I woke up around 6:30pm, by the time I woke up I have 17 missed calls and 5 text messages from him 

Those messages say 

“Hey love ! 

I know you were exhausted 

But I have a surprise waiting for you 

Can’t wait to see you 

Pick you at 8 .”

8 pm

He was waiting at the corner of the street , he wore a plain white shirt , sleeves rolled up till elbow and grey trousers which looked so cool and classy , brown shoes matching his attire . Honestly I never loved white until I saw him in white shirt ! See all this I sensed he planned a date but I didn’t want to ask him , I don’t want to guess either , I wanted to see what he has planned .

8:15 pm

Omg! He planned a candle light dinner I was so amazed my heart started to dance with joy . This was my untold wish , I never told anyone 

Turning towards him I said “ Keshav! I’m so happy , I could believe this happening “ 

“Anything for you, Mi Vida “ I laughed out of excitement 

It was a full moon day , the moon was so bright, darkest night makes the moon shine brighter than ever.

The breeze of ocean , the brightness of moon and smile on my man’s face took my heart away 

“How do you know I would like this ?” I asked 

“ That’s secret “, he said 

 “ Hey just tell me one thing is this co incidences you pray the moon and I love the moon ! He said looking at the moon 

I laughed 

 “I love you , Keshav “

 “ I love you too, Shireen Syed “

New year , 2020.

12:00 a.m.

I never knew life can change quick until I experienced things by myself ,

Things were different an year ago 

Look at the reflection of moon on the lake it reminded me of him .

“ Love you to the moon and back , Keshav “

I said and started walking .
