Mystery

Isabella was walking home from school one day, in the woods. She always hated the woods. They were creepy, with all their shadows, and you never know what might be hiding in there. Normally, she would cut around the woods, but today, she was already late because of detention. That's when she saw it. It started off small, but then it got larger. The pools of blood. Maybe she was just being to careful? She wanted to run away so badly, but this was the closest way home. She cautiously walked further. It only got worse. She fought the tree branches, and came across a greener spot than normal. It looked beautiful. All the trees, flowers, and long grass. She loosened up a bit, but not for long. Deep in the long grass were bones. And flesh. Something has been here. Or someone. It wasn't an ordinary body too. When she got closer, she saw the pieces of his face. It was the boy who got her in detention in the first place! She was so scared, she started running home as fast as she could. She needed her mom, and to call the police now! But she never made it out of the woods. Something grabbed her from behind. Something big, and strong. It dragged her deeper, and deeper, back to the heart of the woods. She tried to scream, but a hand was over her mouth. Besides, nobody would hear her cries anyways. She tried to look back, but the hand was so strong, that she couldn't. But she had a feeling that this was the same thing that had killed that boy. Then she saw the second hand. It grabbed her throat, and started squeezing. This was the end. She kicked her leg up, and kicked the person's shine's. Only a grunt. She was struggling so much now, scratching, biting, and kicking. She was acting like a wild animal. Finally, she won. She spun around, staring at the dead man's eyes. "Hallie, you need to chill! Your alright! Your safe." She didn't know what was going on! He's dead. He also tried to kill her! She threw one last punch to the face, and started bolting out of the woods, as fast as she could. She was crying so hard, and it was slowing her down. He was catching up to her, and surprisingly, he was crying too. "Hallie, stop! You don't understand! I'm not the bad guy! I'm your brother! You hit your head, very hard, and I guess you don't remember anything!" She paused to consider it only for a second. No. He's not my brother. He's a murderer. He doesn't want me to go, she concluded. "I'll take you back to mom and dad. You have to just trust me." This time she does stop, and turn around. "Your dead. You tried to kill me. How can I even trust you!" Her voice was so shaky, and his face looked sincere for once. He slowly walked up to her and Isabella froze. "I won't touch you", he said in a calmer voice. "But please go with me. You don't know what's out there. Will you trust me if I don't touch you?" She hesitates. She donsn't know if she can trust him. "Fine." He smiles, and starts walking away Terrified, Isabella follows. He gets into a car, and Isabella gave him a terrified look. "Ok, we can walk." He gets out of the car, and starts walking down a sidewalk. Reluctantly, she follows. "Tell me something only my brother would know about me." She says. "Hallie, it's no use. You don't remember anything.... I just hope the doctors can fix this." "Wrong! My name is Isabella! You don't know me!" He gives her a concerned look, but doesn't say anything. Isabella continues to follow, because she is lost, and doesn't know where else to go, but she keeps her distance. It is silent the whole rest of the way back, and they finally reach an unfamiliar house. "Here we are. I'll go get mom and dad.....you can stay out here....if you want. Isabella nods her head, and waits for him to go outside. When he does, she runs, and hides behind a bush, afraid they will kill her. After a few minutes, two older people come out. The women seems so familiar. "Hallie! Hallie, where are you! Hallie it's mom and dad, we just want to help you!" Curious, Isabella moves closer. But the man sees. "Hallie!!!" He yells. She trys to run, but it's no use. They have a firm grip on her, tight around her body. She starts crying again, struggling. "Stop! Stop! She doesn't want to be hugged!" The boy says. Yeah right. Hugging? I'd call that attempt of murder. She realizes though, that the boy may be safe, and she runs to his side. Then, a golden retriever comes bolting out of a dog door. It pounces on her, and the memories come flooding back. She start crying, as she falls to the ground with the dog on me.

"Me and Hunter are going to take a stroll in the woods!" Hallie tells her parents. "Okay! Take Blondie with you!" Hallie and Hunter smile at each other miscellaneously, and run out the door. Hallie loves Blondie, but he is a lot of work. They run down the path, into the woods. Then, as they are running, Hallie runs straight into a tree. She gets a massive headache, and blood starts poring out of her head. She keeps going but slowly. Then Hunter looked back, and sees his sister. He runs to her, and calls her name, but she shoves him back and yells, "my name is Isabella!" Hunter looks confused, but then Hallie starts hitting him out of fear, until he was on the ground, unconscious. Scared, she ran the other way, seconds before passing out herself.

"I'm sorry Hunter." Hallie says quietly, as she sobs, finally letting her parents hug her. She didn't remember everything, but she remembered her family, thanks to her dog, and she remembered her love of the woods. "I will let you all help me now." "Good, good. The doctors should be here any minute now." Her dad said. "Come inside, lye on the couch, and we will bandage yours, and your brothers heads." Both of them step inside, and instantly, something didn't feel right about the house. It could have been another halucination, but it seemed so real. The top shelves were covered in bottles of red liquid, and there were guns and knives on display. "Mom, Dad. What's going on? What are those?" Hallie said, while pointing at the shelves. The two parents looked at each other, and didn't respond. They set Hallie and Hunter on the couch and walked away. She wish I knew if I had friends, or a phone. She felt scared and alone again. They don't have any neighbors, because they live in the middle of a forest. Hunter feel asleep, so Hallie got up, made sure the blood from her head wouldn't leave behind a train, and searched the house for clues. She didn't know where her parents went, so she had to be extra cautious. Finally, she found a hidden door. Excited for actually finding something useful, she crept down the stairs, and into a large, cold, and dark room. She found a light switch, and turned it one. What she say was absolutely dreadful. She saw unconscious child bodies, strapped onto tables. All of them had the same looking large gash on their arms. Hallie covered her mouth so she wouldn't scream. Just then, her parents walked in with another body. They saw Hallie, dropped the body, and grabbed her. "I'm sorry you had to see this." Said her mom. " Now I guess you get to know the truth." Her dad said. "Our family is about one hundred years old. Your mother and I are one hundred and thirty nine. We have found a way to keep us alive to drinking the blood of youth. We usually don't kill them of course, unless they see to much, or they are scared, we just finish them off, and put them out of their misery." Hallie stares at them completely baffled. "Sweetheart, we didn't want to disturb you or your brother, so we keep it a secret, and just put a little bit in your drinks at a time!" Her mom said. "Your....your....your vampires!" Hallie says. "Technically, we all are vampires." She said. "Does Hunter know?" "He does now" her dad said. Hallie turned around to see her brother as white as a ghost. It makes so much sense now though. My natural instincts to try to kill my brother, me wanting to follow the trail of blood, and why everything just seemed so cooky.

Ten years later, and Hallie's new invention is ready to show off to the vampire society. "I call it Bug Blood Bustle!" She says excitingly to the crowd. "It allows us to stay alive, live happily, but not go through the torture of taking the lives of incident children!" The crowd cheers at the idea. Us vampires live among all the humans, looking normal, and hopefully soon, will live like others as well, thanks to growing technology. Hallie is one hundred and twenty now, and loving being the leader of the vampire society. Her goal is to make people less afraid, so they can come out of hiding, and that they CAN live more inocient lives.
