"Change is needed"

Hi..how are you ? I am so glad to see you. How's all going ? said Swati to Shalini, to whom she met suprisingly in market.

Actually it's been 2 years now Swati, that you sold your flat in "Bajaj Tower" and shifted to "Paradise Society". Since then, we both didn't get the chance to meet each other. I am also happy too see you here, said Shalini.

So are you still living there with your

In-laws in "Bajaj Tower" and what about the change of coffee...but before Swati could complete her sentence , Shalini said how long are we going to stand here and talk ? it would get cold and darker too. Afterall it's a Autunm season .

So how about going to my place and having some drinks?

Swati said, surely, Why not !!

But just a moment Shalini, I need to inform my husband that I will get late because now it's 6 pm and by the time I reach my home would probably get 8 pm. After she finished calling her husband ,Ketan. She asked ,by the way how will we go ? Because today I came by cab and what about you ? Shalini said no worries!! I have bought my Scooter .We two, can go by that.

Then within 10 minutes they reach the Shalini's "Bajaj Tower" where her flat was.

And when she went to park her scooter,

Swati started looking around and suddenly her eye was caught by a name

"Old , yet new" which was written in bold with glittering all over the words. So she enquired to Shalini that what does that mean and what's it's all about.

Shalini said ,Swati you yourself see what it is. So as the door was pushed by Swati . She said, Wow! Its a coffee shop, it's a cafe. Great ,we were going to have drinks at your place. No matter, we shall have it here!!

I will just get back from restroom, could you please book a table for us,asked Swati to Shalini. Shalini said yes by nodding her head.

As she returned from restroom, went to the table where Shalini was sitting. While wiping her hand with tissue paper Swati asked to Shalini that have you placed the order...do you know what's best here to be ordered ? Before Shalini could reply.

The person said, here is the menu card Ma'am !! What would you love to have ? Listening to his voice she felt familiar and as she lifted her head to see..she saw

Mr Sunil ( Shalini's husband) and she shouted, Oh my god!! what am I seeing Sunil, you are looking wonderful with this Chefs white hat and formal suit. What am I supposed to think of this combination attire ?

Oh god!! Now I understood why did Shalini cut my sentence in market and when I asked you about what's "Old, yet new" she didn't tell me anything.

So Sunil, this is your own coffee shop. What a pleasant surprise!! Every thing is perfect here,I could not believe that it's the same coffee shop which Ratan uncle

( Shalini's father- in -law) had once established !!

Just look at the colour of the walls, lovely combination of red, orange and brown . Candles and star shaped lights all over.

But ,one thing how did your father allowed you to do so ,Sunil? because I remember you always use to argue, quarrel with your father and he would always disagree with any kind of changes in the coffee shop. Isn't it ?

Shalini said ,Swati please sit. I know that you are curious to know.

But firstly, let me tell you that the coffee shop, justly have introduced a "new line of Autumnal drinks".

On hearing this sentence,Swati would have probably gone into coma for 5 minutes. She was shocked because Shalini's

father-in-law was too much reluctant to any kind of transition in the coffee shop.

Be it ,changing of colours over walls or be the changes in menu card . So now this introduction of Autumnal drinks was really astonishing to Swati.

So she insisted Shalini and Sunil to tell, how this miracle happened ?

Sunil told ,that Shalini will tell everything to you but firstly, order some drinks Swati.

Then she read the list of newly presented autumnal drinks in menu card and ordered "Hot Nuts coffee". After placing the order, she said name itself is so fabulous ,how the taste will be!!

As the drink was serve ,it really looked superb.Taking a sip of Hot Nuts Coffee, Swati said ,this coffee took away all my tiredness of the day! It's just awesome. Now I have ordered, tasted and have appreciated this autumnal drink. Now tell..what's the story of this?

Now Shalini started narrating ..

That a month back, my mother-in-law got sick and so our family doctor,Dinkar uncle who is also good friend of my

father-in- law knows everything about our family.

After doing check up of mother in law, Doctor also checked my father-in-law's blood pressure ,and scolded him saying "That why do you take so much of stress, even after knowing that your blood pressure is always on higher side. Do take care of yourself my friend. This can be risky too".

I was listening ,while preparing tea and snacks for Dr Dinkar uncle ,in the kitchen. Sunil was not there in house at that time.

Dinkar uncle didn't finish on that ,he continued saying that " I know Ratan, the reason of your stress ,I have earlier also told you that let the new generation get the chance to prove themselves .First you give Sunil the opportunity and then you see it's isn't working ,you are free to take the decision.

But I saw that Father in law was not convinced and he said " I think that what could happen if allowing any variation in coffee shop gone wrong, what if customers wouldn't like this? What if my name ,the tradition of shop, the way I am connected to people come to dust ? No, I even cannot imagine.

But this time ,Dr Dinkar seem determined that he would definitely convince my father-in- law about giving the charge of coffee shop to Sunil and allowing him to do the things he wanted. So,he continued saying that "Ratan, resolving this problem between Sunil and you is necessary ,and I don't feel that Sunil is saying anything wrong. "Change is needed" and importantly "Changing doesn't mean leaving the things we have but to add on, modify, redesign the resources that already exists with us."

And in your case Sunil is seeking your permission just to add on some new products , remodeling shop, modifying the methods of making coffee and he didn't intend to remove those lovely traditional coffees you make ,from menu card.

It was this present time, there was a little smile on father-in-law's face ,which meant that he agrees.

And that day, when we were having dinner, father- in- law said to Sunil " Take the keys of the coffee shop and start the work ,the way you want, do all the needful changes , bring on some new drinks !! I am sure you will make us all proud. Isn't that?

Sunil just hugged him and promised by holding his hands ," yes!! surely and will always make all of you happy" .

The morning after that night was a real good morning of dreams coming true.

The peace and satisfaction over In-laws faces ,made the family together again . So I and Sunil will always be greatful to

Dr Dinkar Uncle.

And this is how it all happened and these are the results that you are seeing, Swati. Amazing , actually I only had heard, that it can be one just moment, or just a second to make change in one's life. But now I am assured,that miracle happens.

So Shalini asked Swati in a playful way that as now, you have got to know and experience a new thing, "what about having some more autumnal drink" and the traditional coffee too!! listening to this , both Swati and Shalini burst out laughing!!...and understood that "Changing doesn't mean leaving the things we have but to add on, modify and redesign to what that already exists."

So this, is a story in a coffee shop, of a coffee shop which just have introduced a new line of Autumnal drinks.
