Avery was awoken by an abrupt crash, and looked around the dimly lit room, only to see her book on the ground. She had gotten up to approach the front of the room, putting her ear on the large black door that had kept her separated from the other side. Once again there was another crash, louder than the last, accompanied by a bone chilling wave of air coming from under her door. She has always been kept in a moderate temperature room, and has never felt what it was to be cold. The air backed her to the back corner of the room, in fear of the force that made her skin crawl. The wind was so strong, it made a crack in the glass protecting the dimly lit candle over her bed. She had been scared, not sure what this strange "cold" feeling this was, and once again approached the door in confusion. The door was locked on the main nob, and had 6 additional locks spread around the edges. Days before, Avery had discovered the locks, and would swing on them and climb to the top of the door to try to see what could be found on the top of the room. She once again held on to the locks, trying to reach the top, only to fall backwards and hit her head on the book that way laying there before. It had broken her fall, and slid across the room, along with a lock that had fallen off the door. Once again she was confused, not sure how she had removed it off the door. Curious she had gotten back up, to do the same to all other 5 locks, and had removed all of them as well. Now there was the door itself, the one thing that has separated her from the other side her whole life. She now hung on to the nob, and swung harder, releasing pressure from the lock, and swinging to the right side of the room. The door stopped on the locks, and revealed nothing but oozing black darkness pouring from the other side of the door. The candle didn't shine that far, Avery was curious but also terrified of the freezing darkness. Avery sat on her bed, thinking for what seemed like hours, she had decided to capture the small candle inside the glass. She grabbed the heavy locks from the door, and gently tapped on the already broken glass, removing the long wax candle, held by a small metal plate. Seeing the light from the candle, her vision extends and the room is easier to see, but she encounters a new feeling, "warmth" from the small moving tip of the candle. Avery reaches into the moving flame, to feel a coming pain from her fingers, quickly dropping the candle, letting it roll into the darkness of the darkness, revealing a long corridor, supported by stone walls. She walks back and picks up the candle, and proceeds to walk down the corridor. So many things running throughout Avery's mind, not sure what to think and not able to understand what is happening to her. Seconds into the corridor, a light reveals itself to Avery and her candle. It is a new room, with the most light she has ever seen in her life. There were beds spread across the large space, all of which had been turned over, curtains for every bed, that lay scattered across the floor and large tanks that looked about human size, with glass broken and oozing water from the large hole. Looking at the glass, she saw a face staring right back at her, with a candle that looked familiar to the one she had. "H-Hello?" Avery's voice was very shaky as she didn't use her voice to talk to anyone. The little girl with blonde hair repeated after Avery immediately after she spoke. Confused, she walked towards the glass, and the little girl walked closer as well. When Avery reaches her hand out to touch the girl, only to see the other girl reflecting the exact same things she was doing, when she had made contact, it had seemed to be only a mirror of Avery, her own reflection. She had long golden hair, pale skin and freckles around her nose. Amazed at the sight she quickly continued on and wanted to explore more. It had looked like a laboratory/hospital that had just been hit by a large storm. There were no windows or indications of an outside world, or the presence of another human. Avery walks across the floor, watching her step to not get hurt by the broken glass and to not trip over a bed. The new light had made it much easier to move, she still had the candle in her hands, as it made her feel a little less scared or worried. She made her way to the end of another hallway, which had a large white board with a picture of herself, and words scribbled across the pictures. "Five years old, no new marks.....8 years old, sunlight on the skin causes rashes, itching". The images had all looked like her, but not quite the same, as if she had looked older as the numbers went higher. She had always read about light, and the sun, as those were the only subjects the books given to her had spoken about. But the sun was only a myth, there was never such a thing that was millions of miles away from the room that could burn and eat away at peoples body. The room she was kept in had never been warm, and she had never seen such an intense light such as that. Across the board, it had written "Possible causes: anxiety, violence, insanity, and death", white another picture of Avery, that looked like the same person she had seen on the reflection before. Continuing through she finds two large white doors, fully opened and revealing a set of red stairs, that had another door at the top. Still accompanied by the candle, Avery walks to the top of the steps, and props open the door. Behind it was an insane blinding light, a mixture between white and orange. As Avery continued walking, her body had felt another breeze go across her face, but this time it was a warm force, something sweet and gentle. Once her eyes had adjusted to the light, she had taken a look around, to see an open field of terrain, nothing in sight but large peninsulas in the distance. Looking into the sky, she saw a big circle of light, it was the source of light that had blinded her. Trying to take another look before she was blinded, she had thought to herself "the sun is a big ball of fire, far far away from the ground...…". It was indeed the sun, the myth she had read about for years, shining down on her. The board before had described sunlight, and what it had people with a "sun allergy". But Avery had felt fine, she had loved the way it felt, and wanted to explore the outside world. She dropped her candle, and ran across the open space, looking for things she had never seen before, seeing her own shadow, large rocks that towering over her. Avery had been happy to finally get out of the room, and explore the outside world. Turning around back at the door, she sees a large sharp silver object, it was bigger than any of the other rocks there, it was right above the place she and came from. Seeing the object made her stomach turn, she was scared again, not sure what she was looking at, and she collapsed on the ground. Looking at her arm, she sees a big red patch across the wrist and forearm, burning red, and itchy.
