*Note this story includes the same characters as my story "Dreams to Reality", that being said you can read this without reading the prior story. The poem in this story is mine, by the way.

I hide myself underneath my blanket turning over. I end up tossing and turning before falling off my bed. I let out a squeak and immediately my brother complains. "Victoria-" Cameron, I immediately correct in my head. "Staph-" He mutters tossing over in his bed.

"Sorry." I say half heartedly, climbing back onto my bed. He grumbles to himself, and I pull the blanket back on top of me, snuggling within it's comfort. I sigh softly, leaning and curling up against my stack of pillows. I laid there in silence until I heard Jason's loud and obnoxious snoring. My mouth twitched a little in annoyance, however I merely got up, grabbing my little mushroom tote bag. I look at my journal and grab it shoving it inside the tote bag, quietly walking to the door. I adjusted my tote bag, having the straps rest on my shoulder.

I glance at Jason, who was fast asleep, I nod, and open the door slowly and carefully. I peek through the cracks, seeing that the plant lights were off. I smile to myself and open the door the rest of the way, easily and freely walking through the halls of our apartment. I slip on the shoes near the door and pull out my phone, checking the time. 10:42 P.M. I put my phone back into my tote bag and grab my keys that hung up on the various hooks attached to the wall.

I unlock the door and pause, listening carefully. I heard no movement. I open the door and slip through the crack closing the door behind me. I lock the door and silently jog down the stairs before bolting onto the sidewalk and running on the road the thoughts of a bit ago stuck in my head. I swear if he does anything stupid- I thought angrily. I quickly scamper to a stop looking both ways before continuing my run across the street. When I reached the distant treeline I stopped, resting my hand against a tree catching my breath. "Jesus fucking Christ-" I whisper falling to my side, against the tree, sliding down onto the ground.

I pull my tote bag from my shoulder and grab my phone checking the time. 11:03 P.M. I hiss, dropping my phone back into my tote bag before standing up, placing the straps of the bag back onto my shoulder. I look both ways once more, trying my best to remember which way the park was. Just let me get there in time. I dash to the left, continuing my run to the park.

"Fucking finally." I whisper shout to myself seeing the old wooden playground in the distance. As soon as my feet hit the grassy ground I slowed down taking deep breaths of the wonderful, glorious night air. "Woah.." I sigh, looking up at the sky. I briefly close my eyes before running yet again. I keep my eyes on the park.

   Otsutsuki: What're you up to?

Tenshi: Getting ready for bed. It's like, ten thirty. What are you doing?

   Otsutsuki: Ah

   Otsutsuki: Visiting someone

   Otsutsuki: Sleep well Tenshi

My eyes widen seeing a figure on the swings. They were going up pretty high. My brows naturally scrunch up and I slow down to a walk by the time I step on the wooden bark. I made sure I was quiet, staying there for a bit with my arms folded. I watched where they were. The road. Minutes passed in this pure utter silence. Soon a blue Chevy truck slowly drove by, and the figure hopped off the swing with ease, heading towards the truck.

I sigh, combing a hand through my hair. I was right. I was fucking right. I grunt and head towards the swing, grabbing my phone. I open my contacts and click his number.

'Are you really gonna do that? ' I type. I look up at the figure who checked his phone. He looked around everywhere, but behind him. I deadpan. I watched as he headed to the blue Chevy nonetheless. I watched the transaction as I sat on the swing. His plug must have mentioned me in the background, because he finally turned around behind him, seeing me on the swing he was in a mere minute ago. He completed the deal before making his way over here.

"Seriously?" He asked holding a bag in his hand. It looked like those hard candy bags. I meet his eyes

"You said you'd quit."

"It's just edibles." I give him a look.

"I know- but you still promised." His eyes start avoiding my gaze and I sigh, looking forward. I hear him sit down, and open the bag. I hear the tearing of plastic and him pop the edible into his mouth. I start swinging my legs, just to do something. Usually I'd just leave, but this time was one of those times that was different. If I left, who knew what he'd do, it might be a bad high even with me here. I gently place my tote bag onto the ground, and grab the swing chains, as I start swinging harder, going higher.

Within minutes he started swinging too, and I chuckle. Two teenagers on swings, in the middle ofthe night. I close my eyes, letting the cold night air blow into and around me. I didn't know how much time past but soon I heard him chuckle. It was starting to hit. "What's up?" I ask, opening my eyes to look at him.

"The tree-" He points towards the one he was talking about. I raise a brow, looking at the tree. "If you look at it a certain way it kind of looks like a turkey. The branches."

I laugh, shaking my head before looking at it. This wasn't his first high, and one won't hit him hard. I squint my eyes. "It does if you squint." I say with a small chuckle.

"..True." I look at him, tilting my head.

"How long has it been since you've had one?" I ask. He looks at me, and then the tree.

"A few weeks since we met at the cafe." He answers after a few moments. "The second time." My eyes widen.

"Five months." There was silence.

"Yeah." My jaw clenched.

"What did she do?" He didn't look at me, but at the ground. After a few seconds of silence I spoke again: "Tsu-san. What. Did. She. Do?" His grip around the chains tightened, us both slowly coming to a stop. "Archer." I say softly.

"It doesn't matter." He said at the same time, starting to push himself once more. He quickly gained momentum. I bit my tongue and started swinging too, not knowing what to do. Minutes of awkward silence followed before my eyes widen with an idea- I brought that book for a fucking reason, or rather, a remembering of an idea.

I force the swing to stop, and I grab my tote bag, pulling out the journals you get for school. I ignore him staring at me as I gently toss the tote bag onto the ground. "What are you doing?"

"You said you wanted to hear my poems- right?" I ask, looking up at him. He blinked, surprised. I smile. "Well?" A small smile creeps into his eyes, and I look at the journal opening it up. I flip through the pages before landing on one I liked.

"In the darkness

There lay stars

Shining brightly in their afterlife

In the darkness

All is quiet

All is calm

All is resting

Preparing for the new day

In the darkness

There lay boxes

That of which are now homes

In the darkness

You find a girl

Hiding within the shadows

Face streaked with tears

In the darkness

You find children

Playing tag

Or the boogeyman

In the darkness

You find a trail

Of a gorgeous red

That leads not to beauty

But to danger

In the darkness

You find nerds

Rolling the dice

Fate not in their hands

In the darkness

You find teenagers

Screaming and shouting

Joy and laughter in their voice

Making idiotic but glorious choices

In the darkness

You find love

And you find hate

Cruelty and vengeance

Parties and sleepovers

In the darkness

There is crime and hate

There is love and acts of kindness

The darkness is two faced

Hugging all those who embrace it

And stabbing many

The darkness is the home of everything

You could find all within the night"

I jolt in the swing, hearing the clapping. I look at him, startled. He does that silly little huff chuckle, a smirk on his lips.

"That's quite dramatic." I blush nervously.

"I wrote that in seventh grade." I reply, sinking into the swing seat. He waves his hand.

"I wasn't saying it was bad, Tenshi." I blink. "It's just- dramatic. At least I think." He says with a shrug, unwrapping yet another edible, tossing it into his mouth. I sigh shoulders drooping once more. "Oh come on-" He says.

"It's all good." I say looking up at him. I guess I stared a little when he gave me a look. "Is it at least a good high right now?" His eyes widen, not exactly expecting me to ask that.

"Yeah." He says with a nod. I smile.

"That's good." He nods in agreement. I raise a brow seeing him look at something intensely. I follow his gaze to my little book. I deadpan, and look at him.

"You want me to read another one?"

"I could read them." He suggests. I blink.

"I hadn't thought of that." He does that signature chuckle of his.

"Could I?" He asks. I hand over the journal and a smile bursts onto his face. He accepts the book quickly, flipping through the pages. I couldn't help but smile too. Watching him consume the words I wrote with such joy. I sigh and start swinging once more, watching him.

Soon, he finished the majority of it, or at least those he found interesting with a glance. I knew this when he hopped off the swing, picking up my tote bag and putting the book inside. I stop swinging, both to see what he was doing, as well as to not hit him. "I'll walk you home." He says handing me the tote bag as I got off the swing. My face paled. He rose a brow, before he realized. I quickly grab my phone and check the time. 1:52 A.M. My heart dropped. "What time is it?" He asks.

"Al… Almost two.." I whisper.

"Shit!" He barks. He crouches down. "Get on- come on!" He says. I pull back, confused.

"What?"

"Get on!" He says. I quickly catch on, and sling my tote bag on, climbing onto his back. He grabs ahold of my leg, grunting a little at my weight before walking. It quickly developed into a run. While it took me twenty one minutes, he reached my apartment complex within ten flat. I quickly climb off his back, handing him his edibles, giving him a quick hug goodbye. "I'll see you Sunday Tenshi." He whispers.

"Sunday. Be safe." I whisper back, quickly and quietly jogging up the stairs. I search through my bag, grabbing my keys. I unlock the door, sliding through the cracks closing and locking it behind me. Everything was so Gods damned loud. I hang up my keys, take off my shoes, and tip toe my way to my room. The house was eerily quiet. I open my bedroom door and tense up. Jason was sitting up in bed, staring right at me.

He gives me that look. "So.. Who have you been seeing, eh?"

It might not come out tonight- that or I won't be able to reply to our RP lol Oh fun XD Speaking of fun, here's a fun fact: Jason is like.. The only one so far not inspired by an actual person. This series is bringing up weird memories, I agree with that. A C K
