Afternoon in Church

Adam prayed that he would get many good things and nothing bad happens to him. His friend watch aside him and things got awkward between them.

Sarah suggested to Adam, “Instead of praying for riches and others good stuff. Why not try to pray for others who need healing or let your heart be willing to follow God?”

Adam replied, “Dude,you know I want to be rich. If God is truly good he would grant me riches!”

Sarah stood aside upset and said toward him. “God isn’t a genie the problem it that you are using God as a genie. He is truly good because he willing to set Jesus Christ as a sacrifice just to save us from our punishment.”

Adam hate her speech he knew what she said are true, but he still want riches. His parents were already a millionaire still he felt that wasn’t enough.

Sarah went toward Adam to comfort him. “Look, I know you want to be rich, but being rich isn’t worth much more. Why don’t we focus on God together?”

Adam brushed her off and walk away arrogantly. Sarah try working things out with Adam, but he refused to listen. She gave up and let Adam did his own thing after all it was his choice.

When the worship service has started. Sarah try looking for Adam. She spotted him during the seat, but it was full of his friends. She planned on talking to him later.

God Is In This Story by Katy Nichole start playing as they sang the song. When the song was over the pastor came to preach. The pastor start saying these words that are important. (Roman 5:8, John3:16, and Matthew 5:43-44) Explaining why he had endure suffering and pain just to save us from our punishment. The pastor preach about Matthew 5:43-44 and state claim and explain why we should do what Matthew 5:43-44 said.

Sarah listen to every single word while Adam and his friends did chit chat. After the pastor finishing preaching Sarah went up to the pastor. “Mr. Johnson, I wanna talk about a subject that is important to me.”

“Sure what it is?” He asked. “It about Adam I’m worried about him. He hardly focusing and he even start praying to God like God the genie in his life!” She exclaimed.

“I believe you have try working things out with him, but it didn’t work, I would say start praying for hope for Adam. Do you wanna pray together with me?”

“Yes, Sir.” Sarah and her pastor pray together in a room. “Dear, God I pray that Adam will understand of what pain you have endured and that you die on the cross to take up our punishment. I hope that he would focusing on you instead of focusing on riches. In Jesus name, We say Amen.”

“Sarah, sometimes we can only hope. God give them free will if they make their choice it their fate, but we can always hope and give them information.” Her pastor said.

“I understand, Sir. Thank you.” Sarah wave goodbye as he wave back. She pulled out her phone and call Adam. Unavailable. She called again this time the phone end without a ringtone.

She sent a text, “Hey, Adam I want you to know I’m sorry if you feel like I was forcing you. My actions wasn’t reasonable, but I care for you and wanted to fix our relationship together.”

She send the text it doesn’t work. She realized she been blocked for doing nothing wrong, but for caring for him. All you can do is hope, words flashed back at her.

Adam stare down at his phone. How could she have betray me? Her words weren’t right as negativity consumed his thoughts. He explained it to her parents the whole story about his friend Sarah.

“To me she doesn’t betray you instead she deeply care for you, Adam.” His dad said. “I agree with your dad her words weren’t even harsh. I suggested try working things with her and fix your friendship.” His mom said.

“It not to late Adam, it will be too late later. I have a friend who deeply care about him, but I repay him evil for good. He moved away I haven’t even a chance to fix things with him.” His dad warned him.

“Money isn’t everything. Oh, I would give even a million dollars to fix a friendship.”

“Dad! That worth a lot of bucks why would you give even a million dollars just to fix a relationship?” Adam asked.

“I’m going to go shopping.” His mom said. She gives them both a hugged and left.

His dad continued-“Because a relationship it important it show a friend can stay loyal to another, but with money people could find a way to used us. As a relationship with God it more important then money.”

Adam complained and try to make a good point about money being more important, but his dad exclaims and have a counter argument. “When your mom and I met we often weren’t rich. We worked together and she invited me to her house when I have no place to live. We were loyal and were together.”

Adam sarcastically said “Wow, what an amazing relationship you guys have.”

Adam thought about the word relationship. Maybe it would be a right time to fix a relationship. He unblocked Sarah and start typing the words Sorry.

Sarah was getting ready to pack up. Her life isn’t full of money and they had to move from place to place. This is the fourth time they had move, it hadn’t been a month!

Her phone was dead and she recently sell it away. The house phone call.

She picked it up. “Hello?” “Hey, Sarah this is Adam. I’m sorry I shouldn’t have been so selfish of myself. I’m looking forward to fix things together. Don’t apologize to me because you did nothing wrong” “How did you know I was going to apologize?” “I block you.” “Oh, right Adam I’m looking forward to fix things together, but I’m moving with my parents.” “Why?” “I’m low on money and I recently sell my phone away.” “Sarah, I got money I pay it for you please don’t move away I realize how relationship is more important than money. The fact that I was rich and still selfish show that I didn’t care about relationships that time. So please let me fix things right with you.”

“Really?” “Yes, How much do you need?” “As much as I need to pay rent and live in my house. I don’t want you to feel like I’m using you as a tool.” “You aren’t! You comfort me and try to fix things with me. I’m coming to your place.” The phone hanged up.

Sarah waited outside for Adam to come. Thanks God. She thought. The rain drop came. It started raining. As she was about to head back instead she heard a Honk Honk. “Hey, Here the money you need it.” Adam went with Sarah and he pay the money for the home Sarah and her parents live in. They thanked Adam for the money that they were still able to live in their home.

When the next day come Sarah went to Adam’s home.“Hey, I appreciate what you done for us. We really appreciate it. Here a gift it isn’t enough, but we hope you appreciate it.” Adam rejected the gift “I don’t need to gift. I appreciate it tho, but I would rather fix things with you. Remember you say let focused on God? Let do it together.”

Sarah smiles “Sure, let focused on God after all he is good. Let study Roman 5:8.” “Sure.” He smiled back at her.
