Crime Drama Fiction

"Please! Don't hurt her, she's my only child!" A woman screamed to the mobsters holding her daughter by the arm. “Just shut up and let me think," the man replied. Meanwhile the second man with them dialed up the boss.

"Hello? You guys called me again? What's up this time, no wait lemme guess you two fucked up again.” A man in nighttime robes said annoyed. His face slowly changed however from a frown to a look of utter horror as he realized the unimaginable. Someone had seen something they weren’t meant to.

“Hello.. Uh.. hello, boss are you still there?

“I'm on my way,” he eventually answered. “Just be ready when I get there.”

“What’d he say?” The second goon asked.

“He’ll be here, just quit with the questions and get these two in the car.” The first goon replied. The night was peaceful had it not been for the previous murder that had taken place only hours before. A murder that this unfortunate pair had stumbled upon and now they were about to pay the ultimate price. The goons, now smoking and waiting for the boss to show up, were also at unease. For this very night could be the end of the whole operation. All anyone could do is wait for what could be certain doom.

“Damnit damnit damnit, why do I always have to clean up after those two!” The boss screamed in his car whilst speeding down the highway. “I never should have trusted those two with something like this anyway,” he thought. Blowing red lights and honking at cars, this man was all but determined to crash. That didn't matter however because all he could think of was losing his business.

“Is that him?” One of the goons asked.

“Yeah that's him alright.” The second goon replied, noticing a missing rear view mirror. As the car pulled up and slowed to a stop they all noticed the boss and the extreme stress he was in, showing a complexion as red as a tomato. He was in such a rush in fact that he left before even cutting the engine off, screaming. “You insufferable fools I give you every chance and you still fuck me over. It was a simple job and now I have to deal with it. Now get in the car and we're going to Saugatuck.”

With that the men loaded up the car with the body our unfortunate pair ran into and set out for lake Kalamazoo, one of the many great vacationing spots in Michigan. Although after tonight the memory of the place will be far too much to bear for all involved.

The drive was mostly silent other than the sounds of weeping in the backseat. Although by the time they arrived at the lake the two women had all but accepted their fate.

“Now shut up and give us a minute.” One of the goons said to the two women now zip tied in the backseat as they pulled up to their destination. Upon arriving the three men got out and had a discussion first.

“So… you want us to just dump them with the body or what?” One of the subordinates asked.

“No, I'll handle it,” the boss said before opening one of the SUVs backseat doors. “Now just answer our questions and maybe we’ll let you live. Seeing as we're far enough out here that no one could hear you scream though. I suggest you do that. Tweedle dee and Tweedle dumb fuck why don't you give our friends here a hand.” He said while motioning to a nearby dock.

Three hours later

“We’ve told you all we know, I swear on both of our lives we won't say anything just please at least let my daughter go.” The mother pleaded once more.

The boss however, having heard enough, produced a gun from his pocket and pulled the hammer back aiming it at the mothers’ head. “End of the line, I'm sorry it's nothing personal, just business.” Bang, and that was all she wrote. From the daughter's perspective everything seemed to move in slow motion as she witnessed her mother being shot. Before she could even make a sound however a singular accurate and most deadly shot came from across the lake at one of the goons smoking by the dock. Noticing this and being now terrified the remaining subordinate and the boss rang out shots in a frenzy into the forest as the girl let out a bloodcurdling scream. This was to no avail however since they were essentially blind firing into the darkness.

Splat, came a second shot popping the second goon’s head like a watermelon. “Fuck this.” Thought the boss as he ran back to the SUV only to be stopped midway by a third shot to the leg. Now appearing from the fog a man covered in camo gear with a neck gaiter walked from out of the trees holding a scoped rifle. “Hands away from the door.” he sternly said.

“Holy shit! Who the fuck are you? You'll pay for this you son of a bitch, do you have any idea who your fucking with?” The boss now bleeding out said.

“You ok over there?” the hunter asked. Before she could answer though the man finished off the boss in a flash of light as he was appearing to be reaching for a second gun.

“Please don’t kill me.” The young girl pleads as the hunter heads toward her. Pulling down his gaiter the man replied, “You're safe now, I saw what was happening while I was hunting across the lake. I'm sorry it took so long to get over here, I’m afraid she's dead.” Taking her by the hand the man led the girl back to his car where they left for the nearest police station. That man had been this young girl’s desperate remedy that fateful night just as the plan to kill her would have been the mobsters’. Her mother had paid the ultimate price however making this a night no one involved would be forgetting anytime soon.
