We have completed repairs to the auxiliary thruster control and dome city power supplies.  Work still needed on the outer perimeter of aft most domes to secure the seals.

What is the status of the star drive, Commander?

The Star Drive was damaged during the last ion storm and we have not been able to effect repairs due to radiation leakage in the main reactor complex.  Any attempt to access will automatically allow the radiation to spread to the aft domes.  This could potentially kill half of the population and sicken throughout the ark.

What of the radiation leakage?

The populations of the aft domes must be sacrificed for the survival of the ark.  Separating the domes from the ark will prevent radiation from spreading to other domes.

This is contrary to our primary purpose.  We must protect the human race at all costs.  If we sacrifice any of the population, we will have failed our primary mission.

Our current trajectory takes our vessel close to a class G star.  If we come too close to the star, we will be caught in the gravity well.

What is the estimated time of arrival to this star?

1,000 earth years.

Can we alter our trajectory enough with the thrusters?

A program is currently being written to deal with this issue.  It will fire the port thrusters in short bursts as we get closer to the star.   Precise calculations are necessary for the ship to have enough momentum

Unacceptable.  Momentum alone will not get the ark to it's destination before the needs of the population overtakes the supplies.   The Star Drive must take priority. 

Commander Silas.  You are ordered to take a detachment to the aft domes ZZ1137 and ZZ1139 and evacuate the populations of the domes to the interior of the ark where they will be settled in other domes

The populations of the two domes are comprised of agrarians who have not been exposed to higher the technology.  They might react badly to our presence.

This has already been anticipated.  A message has been sent to the leaders of the domes informing you them of the situation.  They will be expecting visitation and further instructions.  In addition, Commander Silas, of the population refuses to leave, they are to be converted and repurposed to work on the damaged star drive.
