Day 7 of Noted Observation.

Using the necessary precautions (tier three physical and four biocontaminant) I approached the aforementioned creature. It is nothing we have ever encountered. The depictions are subject to amendments and will be separately documented, but I must point out its complexity. I am going to conduct a series of Sentience tests after which I hope to establish a contact.

My initial observation is that it either does not notice me or acts benevolently. It also seems to be quite dependent on its big metal ball that is floating, mimicking the asteroid's orbit.

Day 140 of Noted Observation.

Day 84 of First Picket Fence Defense. Day 54 of Second Line Defense

The creature’s schedule remains the same since Day 20. The objective of its actions remains unclear.

Hypothesis one: it is unable to procure the resources, so it is trying to do it this way.

Hypothesis two: what I am seeing is the nesting behavior or similar to it.

Hypothesis three: this is a peculiar play for this species.

In any case before drawing any further conclusions I must be able to see the results of its actions.

Day 156 of Noted Observation.

Day 100 of First Picket Fence Defense. Day 70 of Second Line Defense.

The creature is in its floater. It has been three days already since I have seen it. I wonder if my Second Line Defense is too harsh for it. That is to be revealed if it emerges soon.

Still, I don’t think the Second Line Defense was a mistake after the time my analysis shown that the floater is able to produce the scouring and damaging devices. The devices themselves are being analysed as per usual, in the separate log.

Day 160 of Noted Observation.

Day 104 of First Picket Fence Defense. Day 74 of Second Line Defense. Ending the Second Line Defense.

I have put micro-ozonation capsules around the floater of the creature. Seems like it worked, and the creature emerged. It looked different from when I saw it last. Its outer layer has gone almost translucent, the movements were also much less coordinated. I have sent drones into the exhaust shutes of the floater to take samples.

As for the Second Line Defense, I must admit it was challenging for the creature to endure it, so in order to preserve the rare specimen I have to annul it and come up with something else. The First Picket Defense would suffice for now. It protects my base from physical destruction the creature is randomly prone to.

The only part we were able to decipher is “eyes”. Probably. Whatever particle that fits in here to describe eyes. >

Day 180 of Noted Observation.

Day 124 of First Picket Fence Defense.

My pattern-testing bears some results, albeit I still have to find sub-proofs. Does the creature notice the patterns? It does. Does it understand them? Not yet. It looks confused everytime it goes out to put some metal constructions on the land of our asteroid. Saw it checking the data several times. The other day I thought it saw me. But I don’t think it is ready for interactions.

Day 201 of Noted Observation.

Day 1 of Close-up Physical Barrier Defense.

After yesterday’s move I had to install a defensive field to prevent the creature from noticing me. I’m reluctant to interfere too much with its natural habitat. My drones reported there is a zone inside the floater where the creature sheds and wears the skin back when it goes outside. Based on the cameras I can understand that this outer layer is modifiable or it has got several of those.

My hypothesis on sentience of this being is not yet proven as per Regulation Three. I still can’t procure any signs of benevolence nor of potential violent behaviour.

Day 212 of Noted Observation.

Day 11 of Close-up Physical Barrier Defense.

The creature dropped off big metal devices around, probably marking the perimeter. Meanwhile I had to deflect the hostile magnetic field to keep the asteroid on its course. I don’t think the creature is aware of the pathway the asteroid takes and its rules of behaviour. Maybe the floater can disengage from the asteroid’s pull at some point when the creature sees the potential mate. There was no sign that it communicates with anyone outside of the floater and asteroid, but I have to assume (based on biochemical data of the exhaust shutes) that this creature is biologically alive and thus able to reproduce.

Yet I had to come up with a different way of putting out the patterns for it. The previously done (Sonic type, see application №54) failed the duplication and the creature did not make use of the pattern to respond to the messages. This time I am using the Visual type of the pattern, see application №142.

Day 231 of Noted Observation.

Day 30 of Close-up Physical Barrier Defense.

No response to the visual pattern as of yet. The creature suffered damage from a stray rock I allowed to pass as it posed no threat to both of us. Yet it decided to float outside of the floater. This is a first time observed behaviour, and I can see no reasoning behind it.

Day 232 of Noted Observation.

Day 1 of Underground Hideout Defense.

The creature fired at the patterns I laid out, and it is better for me to go underground. It noticed the patterns, yes, but chose violence. Was it based on its knowing the message behind the patterns? (It said “Friends”, as seen in the application №142). Unlikely. Anyway, the creature appears scared.

Day 233 of Noted Observation.

Found me. Struck me with an unknown zapper. Neural system failure incoming. Auto-extraction procedure engaged.

Final recommendations: not sentient. Treat as hostile until established otherwise.
